On-Loan Magpie Suffers Another Setback With Chronic Injury

It’s been a difficult period for Isaac Hayden since last December. The midfielder was forced to undergo surgery on a chronic knee problem which ultimately ended his campaign as Eddie Howe left him out of the 25-man squad for the second half of last season.

Hayden secured a loan move to Norwich over the summer which includes an obligation to buy should they achieve promotion back to the Premier League. However, Hayden has yet to make his debut after complications arose in pre-season with his knee.

Isaac was getting close to returning but has again suffered a setback. The Athletic is reporting the 27-year-old returned to Newcastle for an assessment during the international break and will be sidelined for at least another 10 days.

Norwich boss Dean Smith is still hopeful Isaac can soon play a part in their promotion push. The Canaries are currently second in the Championship behind Ciaran Clark and Sheffield United. Clark has struggled with injuries himself and hasn’t played since the second week of August.

Hayden’s last appearance was the defeat against Manchester City on December 19th. He won’t return to training for a couple of weeks at the earliest. With the World Cup break coming in early November, there is an increasing risk he will miss an entire year of football.

Don’t think I’d want to take a chance on Hayden if I was Norwich manager, can’t see them buying him.

Its very rare, although we do have a rapper named L.O.C which stands for Liam O’Connor… But that would be more Scottish than Irish right?

I hope Hayden comes good for his sake and ours, he was given an inexplicable six year deal while Rafa’s chair was still warm.

Thanks for posting your versed concerns about my absence from the Blog. I’m fine thank you

As Rotonda alluded to on an earlier thread, the Blog has been and will probably continue to lose long-time posters. Why? I’d suggest that what was once a very nice Blog community has now deteriorated, spoiled by a few bullies, nasties, alts, narcissists, habitual arguers, inflated egos and idiots – all lonely people who seem to regard the site as a playground, their playground! A small number of what must be very patient stalwarts remain as posters but for how long.

    Carltoon

I wasn’t aware ’twas your birthday recently and despite the weather that seems to have marred your recent travels, I hope you managed to enjoy celebrating it. Belated greetings to you.

Enough from me and I shall return to the shadows – like many former and sound posters who’ve disappeared.

I often lament Rafa leaving and the foolishness, idiocy and stubbornness that seen him not given a new contract. But it’s very possible that the TO might never have happened if he had of been retained. Firstly Ashley wouldn’t have seen the squad value disintegrate, he wouldn’t have had to throw £100M’s at the team just to stay afloat and he wouldn’t have had to give 10K tickets away. He seen the writing on the wall with Bruce and for me that was the catalyst of him finally deciding to get out of dodge.

Far too much of this happening nowadays, that`s the third friend in a year that has had a brain hemorrhage, , one died only 57.
Anyone got any thoughts on these jabs ?
Too much of a coincidence for my liking.

We did our fair share of invasions in the Viking ages, but we mostly invaded Norway, Sweden, north of France and England. I cant remember reading allot about invasions of Ireland.

Jabs given to 10’s of millions. Inevitably, someone within that population will have an unrelated medical episode. Statistics, purely and simply.

Nijmegen-toon @15 – I sometimes wonder if Rafa had not taken the Everton job (we all knew it was a dreadful mistake) whether he would have been the new owner’s first choice? As much as I loved Rafa and would have been pleased if he had been re-appointed with hindsight I think Eddie is probably the better choice to take the club forward.

I’ll be back in time for the Manchester United away game – hoping I can watch it somewhere!

Afternoon JohnJ, thanks , im sure he will be ok, it will take time though.

Re a boat, yes, i did consider a boat a couple of years back but decided against it, the amount of times i would get to use it compared to the annual cost of mooring ect just wasn`t worth it.
Maybe when i retire i will reconsider, i do fancy a sports cruiser, though the other half might have different ideas 🙂

    WLToon,

You could get yourself a Motorhome or a Campervan.
As you may have realised my wife & I have had a touring caravan since 2006 we’ve been from Lands End to John o’ Groats and many places in between. As well as Ireland, It’s allowed us to get to many places we could never have got to otherwise.

Sadly the time has come to move over to a Campervan so will be looking at that at the end of October. Carltoon’s son has a business building Campers so will be getting in touch with him.

    martoon,
I’d say 100% it would have happened, I’m so glad it didn’t though as it would have been very divisive among the fan base and although I think we would have been fine, I don’t think there’d be quite the feel good atmosphere we have now. As soon as things went even slightly awry, the knives would have come out and fans would be at each others throats.

WL sorry to hear about your mate. Hope all is OK.

The vaccine thing is worrying, a couple of well researched documents published in last week or 2 from sources within Israeli Health Service, NHS and CDC/FDA pretty well condemning the Pfizer jab and saying the number of health issues caused is now greater than C***id did in age groups 20 – mid 50’s and suggesting it shouldn’t have got universal use.

Enough to convince Mrs and I to not get the offered booster.

Funny you should say that about a motorhome lol it is possibly my next adventure, and wor lass loves the idea.
I take it you had a motorhome but are downsizing soon to a campervan right?
Either way the freedom you must feel to just drive anywhere and stop somewhere with your house on your back is fantastic.
The British isles is a beautiful part of the world, its just a pity a lot of folk always go abroad for their hols, mainly for the good weather imo.

I’ll always be grateful to Rafa for coming to the Toon and taking up the cudgel against MA. We might still be trying to untangle ourselves now if another yes man had skid into the managers job. The process started with Rafa..
But it’s all worked out in the end – we have the right owners and the right fella in charge now and that’s the main thing.
