Newcastle At Fulham – Team Prediction, Injuries, And Fan Expectations

Newcastle’s campaign gets back underway this afternoon with a difficult trip to Fulham. The Magpies need a result while the Cottagers will hope to continue the momentum from their excellent start of the season.

This is the team I am predicting Howe to name. It has just one change from the draw against Bournemouth with the returning Callum Wilson in for Alexander Isak, who misses out through injury.

The fitness woes are improving though far from resolved. Wilson and Bruno Guimaraes will make the squad while there is a sliver of hope Allan Saint-Maximin returns this afternoon.

Howe will be without at least four players not including Emil Krafth, whose knee injury kept him out of the 25-man squad. In addition to Saint-Maximin, Chris Wood faces a late fitness test on his rib injury.

Fulham are without a couple of key players. However, Marco Silva confirmed Alexander Mitrovic isn’t one of them. The former Magpie will likely be in Fulham’s starting eleven with his focus on breaching the Magpie’s goal.

Newcastle Injuries

Jonjo Shelvey (hamstring), Karl Darlow (ankle), Alexander Isak (knee), Matt Ritchie (calf), Allan Saint-Maximin (hamstring – fitness test), Chris Wood (rib – fitness test)

Fulham Injuries

Harry Wilson (knee), Manor Soloman (knee), Joao Palhinha (suspension), Antonee Robinson (ankle – fitness test)

Our poll reveals some optimism ahead of the trek down to Craven Cottage. Around 80% expect a result with over half predicting all three points. A draw would not be dreadful but wins are what matters in this league.

How Will Newcastle Do At Fulham On Saturday?

Newcastle’s season has been disrupted by injuries to key attackers. Howe could get a couple back today and will hopefully soon be able to unleash his full arsenal of weapons on some unfortunate backlines.

Should have checked missed the bus,

I’m hearing so many conflicting stories that the nuetral end at craven cottage will not be as full of Newcastle fans as I’d thought, then I’ve just had a chat with a mate who is in that end and said it will all be the toon army. I’d rather it be all NUFC but if not, so be it.

When I bought my 2 tickets for me and the wife I couldn’t get them together and one was restricted view? so I said to the missus OK I’ll have that one playing the gent obviously. If it’s restricted view, does that mean ToonDarnSarf is directly sat in front of me hmm

    Sorry FtC,

I’ve been to the gym, washed the car, weeded the garden then prepped the supper.

    Now getting ready for golf.

Only one of those statements is true. No prizes.

Had promised I would make my prediction today, though I won’t. I do have a feeble excuse, haven’t seen Fulham in a full game, so have no idea what we’re up against.

I like their coach and CF, but that’s about the end of it.

Anyway, obligatory fiver on a win, though it’s like choosing lottery numbers.

Apologies to those depending on me to make it big. You’re on your own.

To make myself seem more interesting I tell people that I have a mate in Cyprus who is a professional gambler. Good luck! Next time you see me there will have been a couple of powerfully hopped IPAs imbibed.

Fenham : Fulham supporting mate told me neutral end has been scrapped during new stand build which won’t open until next year… sadly due being unable to get home after game because of train strike I’m unable to go today 🙁

If anyone on here wants free ticket ( it’s in with Fulham fans unfortunately ( albeit tds and pug will be there too ) drop me a line

My wife literally knows a professional gambler from her school days in Singapore. He turned up in london 2 weeks ago, and when leaving their dinner (I was not there) flashed £100,000 that he was taking to the casino. Out of my league, I am championship at best

I’ve 4 mates down and the missus doesn’t want me going on the drink, so changed plans and heading straight back, Where do you live I would be more than happy to drop you off after,. I live in Chalfont St Peter, Bucks. How far are you away from there mate?

Or if it’s too late, just advise where you on are on her and I’ll meet you, I’m gonna try and park as close to the stadium as I can hence me setting off early. I’m sure something can be worked out so you can get home, watching the toon is hard these days so I really am willing to help mate, as you don’t know when the next opportunity is to watch them being down here. 🙂

Fenham, I would suggest Blyth Road, just down from Hammersmith Broadway. Now metered but you would stans a chance of parking.

Morning all, match day at last. If a week is a long time in politics then a fortnight is an age in football. So glad it’s back and very hopeful of a win.

I was shocked to see talk of central heating going on. Youth of today, I despair. What are you going to do when it gets cold? 🙂

Nijmegen-toon, you asked about Wor Flags at the Eagles game. They had a display for the team introductions, loved it! Check out the link at 13:10. (The least said about the game the better). 🙁
Don’t worry, I’ve got a couple of Basketball forums to vent on.

Fenham, very kind of you to offer – I’m in Brighton so quite a bit out of the way , wife is using car so can’t drive myself.
Airbnb’d my London place before rail strikes announced and didn’t feel I could kick them out once they were.

    Cest la vie

    Anyway , enjoy the game

Ahh I could have sworn you once said you lived South London on the road to Brighton so I thought it would only be an hour detour.

Gutted for you not to go. Thee will many more to come hopefully I’m sure.

    Let’s smash them today.
