Newcastle At Fulham – Team Prediction, Injuries, And Fan Expectations

Newcastle’s campaign gets back underway this afternoon with a difficult trip to Fulham. The Magpies need a result while the Cottagers will hope to continue the momentum from their excellent start of the season.

This is the team I am predicting Howe to name. It has just one change from the draw against Bournemouth with the returning Callum Wilson in for Alexander Isak, who misses out through injury.

The fitness woes are improving though far from resolved. Wilson and Bruno Guimaraes will make the squad while there is a sliver of hope Allan Saint-Maximin returns this afternoon.

Howe will be without at least four players not including Emil Krafth, whose knee injury kept him out of the 25-man squad. In addition to Saint-Maximin, Chris Wood faces a late fitness test on his rib injury.

Fulham are without a couple of key players. However, Marco Silva confirmed Alexander Mitrovic isn’t one of them. The former Magpie will likely be in Fulham’s starting eleven with his focus on breaching the Magpie’s goal.

Newcastle Injuries

Jonjo Shelvey (hamstring), Karl Darlow (ankle), Alexander Isak (knee), Matt Ritchie (calf), Allan Saint-Maximin (hamstring – fitness test), Chris Wood (rib – fitness test)

Fulham Injuries

Harry Wilson (knee), Manor Soloman (knee), Joao Palhinha (suspension), Antonee Robinson (ankle – fitness test)

Our poll reveals some optimism ahead of the trek down to Craven Cottage. Around 80% expect a result with over half predicting all three points. A draw would not be dreadful but wins are what matters in this league.

Newcastle’s season has been disrupted by injuries to key attackers. Howe could get a couple back today and will hopefully soon be able to unleash his full arsenal of weapons on some unfortunate backlines.

Very quiet on here for a match day.

Nijmegen-toon @38, sorry mate I have no idea. Nothing on Eagles website and I don’t do Twitface. Eagles do have links to the Toon going back to SJH and his sporting club. The team play in black (home) and white (away) and are known as the Men in Black. A good number of Eagles fans are Toon fans. Attendances are always good but a few years ago a sell out was guaranteed when Leicester Riders came to Toon. Jamal Lascelles always came to support his little brother.

Looking forward to Brentford game at SJP.

Takeover was 7th October 2021. And this game marks 1 year of the new owners.

Think it might be extra special from wor flags and maybe even the owners….

    Here’s hoping it is.

    Happy I’m going

    JohnJ,
Don’t come on here during the match you’ll think we’re losing 6-0 even if we’re winning 😕

    AGM,
Aye, I remember Hall and Shepherd wanted a sporting franchise with the Wasps as well, would have been great if his vision had of succeeded.

    Nij,

I’ll also have the teletext on but they can be very slow updating the scores! I’ll watch Final Score but think it’s starting later due than usual. 🙂
