Here is Eddie Howe’s 32 minute press conference this morning for the game at home to the Bees tomorrow afternoon.
The game will be a celebration of one year of our new ownership, and let’s hope we can get our second win in a row to celebrate that.
We would expect Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan to be at the game, and he sent a warm message thanking Newcastle fans yesterday – something that shows the owners want the fans full involved in the club.
When we look over the last year of growth, it’s difficult to see how it could have gone better.
Eddie Howe came in last November and saved the team from relegation, which at that point was Newcastle’s number one goal.
Howe and his staff came in when the team had only 5 draws and six defeats from the first 11 games and Eddie and his team garnered 44 points from the remaining 27 games, and we finished on 49 points and in 11th place.
Unbelievable.
Here’s the man talking about the game at home against Brentford tomorrow – and a win is what the doctor ordered – but as we know – any game in the Premier League is always difficult to win.
Howay The Lads!!

Comment #8A repost to celebrate Magic’s arrival on Tyneside:

He was here last year, now he’s coming back
It’s the long awaited Return of the Mac
This time he’s bringing along Ruddy too
But I’ve a cautionary tale for the pair of you
I hear you’ve booked via AirBnB
A swanky apartment down on the Quay
But from what I’ve heard it’s a bit of a ruse
Which could leave you somewhat dazed and confused
More on that later as I see that you’ve planned
To attend the takeover party which should be just grand
Tyneside Irish Centre is the place to be
To witness a ‘Magic’al impression of Michael Flat-ley
It seems to be the man himself, when at first you glance
But it’s Magic who shows he’s the real ‘Lord of the Dance’
And following a stadium tour in the afternoon
It’s a brilliant way to start your trip to the Toon
Then it’s the Dog and Parrot before the match
To throw powerfully hopped ales straight down the hatch
You’re meeting some bloggers but not the riff-raff
So with no Mund in attendance you’ll have a great laugh
Then you’re off to the Cathedral upon the hill
For the weekend highlight and your biggest thrill
But here’s the thing I thought I should say
About the second night of your Quayside stay
When you return to your digs you can expect to be led
Away from your flat and to the basement instead
There on the door is The Mighty Quinn
Not to throw you out but to keep you in
The room is dark and painted red
It has no windows or even a bed
Instead it’s designed for your pleasure and pain
Equipped with gags and whips and cuffs and canes
The place is run by Madame Sin
Who intends to keep you both locked in
For a night of torment which will leave you reeling
As she has you suspended from the ceiling
Her tortuous ways are quite mind bending
But at least you leave with a happy ending
Then when you’re home and get back online
You’ll be booking the place for three nights next time!
.
.
.
(For those who aren’t aware, the Mighty Quinn reference is due to him being a doorman)

It’s strangely comforting to hear from TDS that you are as quirky in real life as you are on here.
An interesting fella indeed!
