Newcastle Add Fitting New Commercial Sponsor

Newcastle have announced their first new commercial sponsorship deal since the arrival of chief commercial officer Peter Silverstone. Monster Energy has become the Official Energy Drink Partner on a multi-year deal.

Monster Energy will have a digital presence around St. James’ Park for the foreseeable future. The California-based company has had sponsorship deals with the UFC, BMX, motocross, and other extreme sports. They also are associated with various music acts.

Silverstone said the following about adding Monster Energy to Newcastle’s growing list of sponsors:

“Newcastle United is on an exciting and ambitious journey to grow our global reach and fanbase. On this journey, we are eager to align with partners that share our global growth ambitions.

“Monster Energy is a brand that continues to enhance its global presence in the sporting world, and we are delighted to build this partnership and grow in new markets together.”

Monster Energy trails only Red Bull in the energy drink market share. Considering Newcastle’s relentless and energetic displays this season, this is an apt sponsor to have on board.

That would have been Poundlands own brand under our former custodian.

No idea, I can’t find anything online that says the value. I can’t imagine these deals are worth as much as shirt sponsors etc though.

On the 7 minutes. I think Botman “went down” twice each time getting physios on + Chelsea did full 3 x substitutions, before we made any, then of course we did 2 I think, plus I think one of their players went down and needed treatment in 2nd half, so all in all, 7 mins might have been about right.

Normally, long amounts of extra time favour the home team, but on this occasion as Chelsea had just started to play a bit, it seemed to favour them, but our “dark arts” put an end to that. 😀

Nothing wrong with a girlie hairband, but as I said to the lady in Seasalt at Morpeth (up for a wedding at the weekend which clashes with the footy! Parents of the bride have seats with me at SJP!), it would be nice if they could introduce some more manly designs!

Monster suits this team, just as Nytol would have been a great sponsor under our previous regime.

On topic, this is obviously big news, however the Saudia news seems to have gone under the radar, admittedly I never read the blog on Saturday so I might have missed a story about it. I’d seen, what I thought were photo shopped images on twitter but was pleasantly surprised when I saw the huge presence on the hoardings, that surely is massive news.

Those captain rules are a pain in the buttocks. I like to do my team then leave it. It will turn it into a game of higher, lower. If your first captain gets zero, twist, second one twelve, stick. If he gets 5 you will be in two minds. Twist and you could lose them all.

There’s nothing on Saudia’s twitter feed either, I thought it would be massive given the promotional photo’s and stuff, unless they’re waiting for the big one on the front of the shirts.

ZG, talking about pain in the buttocks, yesterday I had a massage from a little Chinese lady who was only about 5ft tall and wouldn’t have been 7stone wet through. However, she inflicted more pain on me than I would have thought possible. I’d rather have gone 20 rounds with Mike Tyson!

    Maybe they’re waiting for either,
    (a) NUFC being in SA for the announcement or
    (b) waiting to coincide with an Airline announcement of flights to U.K. including Newcastle or
    (c) if it’s shirts, they are being polite to existing sponsors as when it’s announced shirt sales will plummet in anticipation of the New one coming soon.

Take your pick Jail, which do you prefer? 😉

Saudia are currently “just” a buyer of space on our advertising boards, they aren’t yet a brand sponsor (yet). Big difference.

Wonder if we’ll go the UFC route of promotion and have Monster cans in front of the manager at his pressers and make him and the players hold onto one post-match?

I was surprised that Chelsea had more posession than we did.
From where i sat they only briefly showed much threat and that was just before Joe scored.
Obviously they had to come at us after that but i was never to concerned.Only when they said another 7 mins.to play i got a tad worried after the Scousers fiasco.
We controlled the match magnificently and bossed the Cockney gits.
We will give anyone a hard game with the commitment we showed on Saturday.
    Howay the Lads.

I saw you play in the sixties, Stan Anderson, down in London and I resent being called a Cockney git!? I was also surprised by our possession stats.
I have to say that our pressing stats must be the best in the division. Our fitness levels are testimony to the new regime.
