Newcastle Announce Sponsorship Deal With SAUDIA

Newcastle have added SAUDIA as their official tour airline partner ahead of the training camp in Riyadh next month. SAUDIA will be the carrier that flies the lads to Riyadh for the 6-day training camp.

It appears that the airline will have future sponsorship opportunities as new chief commercial officer Peter Silverstone said the following:

“Whilst Newcastle United is on an exciting and ambitious journey to grow our global reach and fanbase, we are also very focussed on growing our fan base and following in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East.

“Our ambition is to become the most supported English Premier League football team in Saudi Arabia; a country whose population includes a large, young, passionate and highly engaged football community.

“We are delighted to partner with SAUDIA as our official tour airline partner, and we look forward to working with them during our trip to Riyadh and for the remainder of the 2022/23 English Premier League Season.”

This is the second sponsorship deal announced in two days. On Tuesday, Newcastle confirmed Monster Energy as the official energy drink. They will have a digital presence at St. James’ Park on matchdays.

We are still awaiting the big catch, which is the official shirt sponsors for after this season. Newcastle’s deal with FUN88 has been cut short and ends after the 2022/23 campaign.

In an earlier interview, chief financial officer Darren Eales said the following about working with PIF-related sponsors:

“It would make sense in terms of some of the doors that could be opened by PIF. They invest in a number of countries globally.

“I also think when you look at a country like Saudi Arabia with a young population, 36 million and growing, football is the number one sport and there is some natural affinity there in terms of the commercial value of having an association with Newcastle.

“The days are gone of it just being advertising and a name on the shirt, it’s about what their goals are and about what they’re trying to achieve and from that we’ve got to have fair market value, that’s the reality.

“Companies are going to want to have a demonstrable return. We’ve got the potential for something that’s really great.”

Eales’s comments from early October echo what Silverstone stated above. Newcastle are looking to grow their fanbase in Saudi Arabia. We are likely to see a PIF-related company as the shirt sponsor after this season.

Ronaldo on half a million a week and refuses to play. What a shocking attitude from an arrogant and selfish diva that would totally destroy the harmony in the dressing room.

‘The higher we finish in the league the more £o££ly we win at end of season!’

Aye, true but also a high finish, as many have already said, means more TV showing and we become more attractive to young ambitious footballers.

    Win, win all round.

Rotunda, I would rather sign Ronaldo 9, despite he looks like he beat Bruce to a few steak bakes and has retired.

At least R9 could teach players about the highs and lows of being the best. R7 is incapable of doing that.

I wouldn’t want us to sign Ronaldo but if we did then I’m confident that Eddie would get a tune from him.

He’d have to take a massive wage cut though, which he might be prepared to do to get onto the Toon band waggon.

He’s not exactly strapped for cash any more.

    I Agree Raj.

Ronaldo is a pratt. Never liked him, however folk have put up with his sulky childish self indulgent nature based on his talent.

His talent has diminished, so nobody will now put up with his tantrums.

Apart from Kets and the Ketites.

Piers Morgan might has well unzipp him and nosh him off

    From The Mag……..

“Going even further, these Sunderland fans insisting that if anybody like the Saudi Arabia PIF had anything to do with their club, they would en masse refuse to go to any games and launch campaigns / demonstrations to force them away from their club”

They are in Cloud Cuckoo land and where is their team? I’ll tell you what any Sunderland supporter that say he wouldn’t welcome PIF as their owners are taking the Pish!

Some interesting statistics and predictions regarding the % chance of each Country’s team to reach the Quarter Finals (QF), Semi Finals (SF) & Final (F) and to win (W) the World Cup.

The % and rankings are based on historical and recent team performances. The model then considers opponent strength and the difficulty of their path to the final by using match outcome probabilities, taking into account the composition of the groups and seedings into the knockout stages.

    Team/Country…..QF….SF…..F…..W

    Brazil………………64…..40….25…16
    Argentina…………55…..36….21…13
    France…………….59…..37….22…12
    Spain………………55…..32….17….9
    England…………..56…..31….17….9
    Germany………….51…..29…15…..8
    Netherlands……..53…..28…14…..7
    Portugal…………..47…..24…12…..6
    Belgium…………..42…..22….11…..5
    Denmark…………39…..19……9…..4
    Croatia……………25…..11……5…..2
    Uruguay………….27…..11……5…..2
    Switzerland……..22……8……3……1
    Senegal………….20……7……3……1
    Mexico……………18……8……3……1
    Serbia…………….20……7……3……1

Should be useful for choosing players and teams for the Ed Harrison Fantasy World Cup competition arranged by Scythe.

Top 4 will be Arsenal and Man City plus 2 out of Newcastle Manure Chelsea Liverpool and Tottenham. If Chelsea signs Ronaldo and they get Champions League at our expense then what? Rajs high wisdom and binging on Tacos kinder surprise eggs isn’t going to change that.
If Ronaldo wants to be a part of the biggest project and new challenge and is willing to take a huge paycut and accepts he will need to work hard then I would sign him. Likely he wants Bayern Munich or Chelsea. Ronaldos main grief seems to be the lack of empathy shown by manure towards his ill daughter and death of his son
