Miguel Almiron has added to his collection of awards for his exploits during October. The Paraguayan has been named The PFA Fan’s Player of the Month. He already won awards for Player of the Month and Goal of the Month.
Another award for Miggy! ???

— Newcastle United FC (@NUFC) November 17, 2022
Almiron bagged 6 goals in October to help Newcastle surge up the table. His excellent form continued into this month with a goal and an assist in his two league starts.
This week Miggy was with the Paraguay squad for friendlies at Peru and Colombia. Paraguay did not qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. In yesterday’s friendly at Peru, Alimron was substituted for at halftime.
The Shields Gazette is reporting today that Almiron will not feature in the friendly at Colombia on Saturday. The 28-year-old has reportedly withdrawn from the Paraguay squad with what has been called muscle overload.
Most Magpies not involved in the World Cup are resting this week. It appears that Almiron, who has started every league match this season, was in need of a break. He’ll now get that opportunity.

Rundown.
Ronaldo: It’s not even on Eddie’s radar, he has said he needs people to put their ego’s to one side and gel with the teams family spirit. Verdict: Isn’t happening.
Ivan Tooney: Have nothing on this mater until he’s proven guilty and charged via the EPL / FA. Verdict: To be decided.
Ashley: Will always hate this guy, he treated the fans and people of Newcastle like peasants and the club as an advertising platform for his company. If Coventry fans want him they can have him, they know what he did at our club. Verdict: Time will tell how he does and how the fans see this in a year or two’s time.
Mort being Mund: Don’t think so, don’t really care if Mort is an alt or not, I’m sure he can take care of himself and the people that feel he is attacking them are big enough to throw down if they really want to. Verdict: Who cares if he is or isn’t.
For myself I’m happy that Newcastle are where they are at, I’m happy our club is being run by smart people, I’m happy that some players could be back in the next six weeks. Verdict: After family, only the Toon matters and both are making me happy.
Congrats to Miggy.

I don’t really give a fook who is he, not even sure how the alt thing took off anyway. coming home, seizing on any given opportunity decided to make him a “chased off the blog” case, what should have been a breeze in a teacup got made a lot bigger than it was because ch drank half a bottle of whisky and decided he stir the pot.

Comment #27“Muscle overload” – does that mean he’s too fit?
A new condition, introduced by playing for “Monster Energy” NUFC.
Maybe the adrenaline he’s been running on for the last 3 months all ran out on the plane to Paraguay. 😀
Have a rest Miggy, you’ve earned it, come back refreshed and ready to break more records at the Toon. Oh and congrats on the new trophy, well deserved. 🙂

On this Coventry business Ashley can’t rename the stadium until Summer 2031 – it is called the CBS (Coventry Building Society) Arena because Coventry building society signed a 10 year naming rights deal for it last summer. I would assume this would also mean that it Ashley wanted to knock the stadium down to build a warehouse he would have to pay off CBS.
To me while I would not put anything past Ashley, knocking down a stadium to build a warehouse seems a very expensive, inefficient and controversial way to do things. I imagine he will look to add his grotty hoarding adverts there as soon as he can and charge Coventry rent for using his stadium. That or he will sell it back to Coventry’s new majority owner for a profit.

That’s what I said when it was first mooted by lesh( I think) it’s not prime London real estate so surely there’s got to be cheaper land around in Coventry than having to go to the expense of demolishing a perfectly good stadium. It looks like this is his way of getting a dirt cheap potential PL club with a bit of investment, gets his years of free advertising and then sell up for a profit. Him, Llambias and Churnley will have learned a lot from us so getting a club the size of Coventry back in to the PL won’t take too much trouble and could all be achieved for about £100M layout which he’ll get back in advertising, player sales and eventual sell on.

Thanks for that!
What I meant though was how did others feel about the different rules for the two formats.
The “Captains” rule, for instance, is different between the two and I wondered which one was preferred.
I think the option to change your nominated Captain, providing a player hasn’t yet played, is interesting and potentially the better rule.

To me there are only a few little differences:
– the captain rule is quite different but at least gives you the possibility of 2 chances for your captain to get a good score and adds an element of gambling too. If your captain has an average score do you accept it or go for higher, potentially ending up worse off?
– “12th man” is a kind of interesting alternative to FPL’s bench boost.
– I like the “power captain” option. I think that could be a good addition to FPL.
Overall I just like that it is not basically just a carbon copy of the FPL rules.

Comment #39Good evening fellow bloggers, haven`t been on here since last weekend, its been a busy week but its been a buzz after Toons win to cement our 3rd place until Xmas, footin superb.
Re Ashley, im not surprised the Coventry fans are happy that he has bought the stadium, the club would of went to the wall otherwise, they have had problems for years and at one point looked as though the club would go under.
Currently in the championship, just one lge below the moneybags PL, you can bet your bottom dollar he will plough in just enough money to get them promoted then that is where the fun will stop for the Sky Blues supporters.

I agree that it’s good not to have a carbon copy (old school) of the FPL rules.
I’m not sure it’s a good time to be talking about “an element of gambling” but I also agree it’s certainly appears to be good option.
