Newcastle Hoping To Fend Off EPL Trio For Future Free Agent – Report

Newcastle are among a quartet of Premier League clubs interested in Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram according to The Sun. The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer with Eddie Howe keen on landing him as a free agent.

Thuram can talk to clubs beginning in January with the Magpies along with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs all interested. Newcastle have had a long interest in Thuram, who is the son of former French international Lillian Thuram.

Before the forward made his move to Germany in that infamous summer of 2019, Newcastle were linked with him. At the time, his French club Guingamp had been relegated to Ligue 2 with Thuram entering the final year of his contract.

Thuram has four caps for France, and his blistering form this season has him in Didier Deschamps World Cup squad. Following an injury-blighted season with just 3 goals, the 25-year-old has 13 already this season.

The right-footed attacker can play as an out-and-out striker or an inside forward on the left. He is known for his pace and power and is a handful for defenders on his day. As a free agent, he would provide outstanding value if Newcastle can fend off the competition for his signature.

Carltoon, Well done you brought back a football,NUFC topic on a football blog……..by the way Botman is my favourite player, he is really going to be very special player for us, as a defender, he has everything. IMO after , Lacelles, Trippier, he is our next captain it will happen. Fenham, hope you enjoyed your brief stay in Newcastle and had a good time. Not really too excited about the World Cup, but as we progress I,ll enjoy etc….. love for us to sign Maddison and a couple of quality yoursters as well. Enjoy the start of the WC…… cheers GWH

Welcome back welshgeordie9. This war of the words may have been a direct result of your absence, lol.

Anyway it is in deed a great time to be a nufc fan, but you’d never guess so judging by the arguments on here. Sadly some people just can’t get along nor listen to any differing opinions.

Rotonda if you were a little bit more self aware you’d realise that I told u benitez was in rapid decline, as he subsequently proved. You’re embarrassing yourself. I’ve never seen a team retreat like he did in the history of premiership (or earlier) football.

If pardew Bruce etc did it you wud have jumped up and down, you stupid hypocrite.

Agree Jail…… After all these LONG years with Ashley, these are great, exciting times, hopefully when the premier league restarts Eddie has the lads fired up and ready to go, High press and all, with Issac and St Max fit, fingers crossed, the team, squad is looking good. IMO a top 4 is on the cards, only thing that will stop us is injuries etc….., but it’s going to be a long 6 weeks for the WC….. cheers GWH

Gammon, I like it. But I keep seeing tuff waving his little union jack, slagging off Johnny foreigner whilst he wonders why companies can’t get staff. It’s not a good look.

I have a terrible vision in my head. Fats Fenham is with him. He’s in a string vest and union jack shirts. In benidorm. He’s singing rule Brittany’s by the pool, half cut and it’s not even midday.

Complained about the sausages for breakfast. Said the weren’t as good as back home. Tuff is reading the daily mail.

Jeez I need to lie down 🙂

It is indeed great times to be a toon fan , I’m going for guimares as my current favourite player although it changes from week to week at the moment – can’t wait for EPL to start again. Sooner England / Brazil / Switzerland get knocked out this stupid WC the sooner we get our players back and training with the rest of the lads

Woah – Dik Moanster has just turned up looking for a ruck – he’s obviously pissed again.

I suspect all his neighbours go away for the day to get out of his way as they know what he’s like.

As his neighbours are out of his sights he has come on here to start a ruck.

I recall him on here bragging that he attended lots of Toon away matches in the past and relished attacking the other teams fans and beating then up.
That I suppose is bad but him making on he was an IRA man with a machine gun to frighten posters on here was beyond decency.

A real hero. As always he’ll deny it. A proper scrote.

Have to say, Joey Barton was one of my favourite players of recent times. The only good thing left behind by Allardyce.

Joey Barton just seemed to get the club. It’s a bit of a cliche, but he played for the shirt.

I am not sure any player could top Asprilla when it came to being a fan’s favourite:

How can any player compare with that?

ZG – no arguments on Lee Clark.

I was a bit disappointed with Scott Parker, though. Maybe I have it wrong, but apparently he didn’t exactly enjoy life up North, and that was his reason for moving on.

I dug this up. It ruins Parker’s legacy for me.
