Newcastle are among a quartet of Premier League clubs interested in Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram according to The Sun. The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer with Eddie Howe keen on landing him as a free agent.
Thuram can talk to clubs beginning in January with the Magpies along with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs all interested. Newcastle have had a long interest in Thuram, who is the son of former French international Lillian Thuram.
Before the forward made his move to Germany in that infamous summer of 2019, Newcastle were linked with him. At the time, his French club Guingamp had been relegated to Ligue 2 with Thuram entering the final year of his contract.
Thuram has four caps for France, and his blistering form this season has him in Didier Deschamps World Cup squad. Following an injury-blighted season with just 3 goals, the 25-year-old has 13 already this season.
The right-footed attacker can play as an out-and-out striker or an inside forward on the left. He is known for his pace and power and is a handful for defenders on his day. As a free agent, he would provide outstanding value if Newcastle can fend off the competition for his signature.

Well said, Jonjo still has a big part to play for us over the next two seasons.
It’s good though that we have a bigger helping of quality in the squad.
I thought him and Bruno played well together.

Comment #164Thanks John J. It does get frustrating at times and sorting through the garbage is time consuming. It’s just not as simple as skipping posts. Sometimes there’s a hidden gem.

Comment #167Tuff , my accurate stereotype of u and Fenners by the pool in benidorm has clearly has got under your skin.
As one ages, one’s memory can fail so let me bring you up to date.
1. I never made out that I was an ira man, but thanks for the laugh. I wudnt know semtex from chewing gum and my bomb making skills would stop at wiring a plug
2. I didn’t attack any fans or beat anyone up.
However you fire ahead, it’s fun watching your memory scramble more and more whilst mixing it up with clumsy national stereotypes, Mr Gammon Ham 🙂

I looked at that Fanbase accomodation link.
It is an absolute disgrace, looks more like a refugee camp and that is being nice about it!

Comment #173AncientC that article on Parker just sums his time up, he really just was not up to it, was he.
There’s lots of players who weren’t skilful or great players, but if they bought into the fans the club the city, they were still loved.
As soon as the going got tough, he was away.

Comment #186carltoon – yes, bit of a shame it turned out that way with Parker.
It makes you laugh when you think of Rafa by comparison, taking to life in the north like a duck to water. Out training the troops in his shorts in the winter months.

Comment #190EGB – Parker specifically mentions that he had to leave, “leave” being the operative word in my estimation.
I think if he had been sold on or unwanted — he would have mentioned that in his reasons for moving to West Ham.
He also mentioned a restlessness type atmosphere during his time at Newcastle. That doesn’t sound like a player who was happy to me.
It’s not just when he says, but what he doesn’t.

Comment #192AncientC, most players and managers love it here, most players and managers from other teams love playing here.
It’s the best place in the world.
Those that talk it down are usually just hopeless and then take it out of the fans.

The Qatar team have only been training for this for 6 months 😆
