Newcastle Reportedly Rate Fleet-Footed Ecuador International Very Highly

Newcastle are reportedly keen on Real Valladolid winger Gonzalo Plata. The 22-year-old is in Ecuador’s starting eleven against Qatar today to kick off the 2022 World Cup. Despite only turning 22 earlier this month, Plata already has 30 caps for Ecuador.

Journalist Dean Jones, in Give Me Sport, touts Plata to star on the world stage while claiming Newcastle rate him highly. Brighton, who have three of Plata’s international teammates on board, are also tracking the winger.

Plata joined Valladolid this past summer moving from Portuguese giants Sporting CP for around £2.5m. He spent two seasons in Lisbon with 38 appearances and 8 goal contributions. He is an academy product of Ecuador’s Independiente, which is where Brighton star Moises Caicedo got his start.

Plata has continued his upward trajectory this season with 2 assists in his 10 appearances in Spain. While two injuries have limited him, there is little the 5’10” speedster can’t do on the flanks.

The left footer is primarily deployed on the right where he can cut inside. While his pace and dribbling skill often catch the eye, he can pick out a pass and also is very tenacious off the ball.

Plata is one of a number of up-and-coming stars that Newcastle should have their eye on in this World Cup. He certainly fits the bill for what Newcastle are looking for in a wide attacker. Though he only just joined Valladolid in the summer with a contract to 2027.

Qatar is basically that kid who’s not good at football but got to play cause he owns the ball.

You’ve overstepped the line calling me raol moat, not once but twice in here now. Not clever is it?

I do not deserve to labelled such a monster because I’ve asked Munster to stop his slandering England. Zhongguo Geordie you have massively overstepped the mark.

The first goal WAS offside,if you went back four phases..

Why not bring a rule in,that stipulates the number of phases for such occurrences ?

It’s as if the footy governing bodies welcome controversy,OR it just gives them free rein on the corruption front 😀

Rotonda you willfully put up incorrect assessments of what I say every week. Usually they are just inaccurate or completely fabricated. So you are either lying, or just lack attention to detail and nuance. I corrected your latest shit the other day so I cant be assed doing it again. How did your hero get on when he left again?

Fenham, well, thats a bit repressive and pejorative, god forbid someone holds a differing opinion to you on what it means to be nationalistic or “patriotic”, I better whip my flag out for some furious flag-shagging while enthusiastically clutching my picture of dear old Queenie just to clear my head of those traitorous thoughts.

I guess I’m wasting my time even telling you, as I’m not one of those who feel the need to shout it from the roof tops, have it as my facebook display picture or ram it down others throats, but I wear my poppy every year as I have nothing but unfaltering respect for the numerous boys and girls who’ve been sent to their deaths fighting for our FREEDOMS and RIGHTS from the UK and the Commonwealth as a whole, I was even in the East Stand for the Chelsea game holding up part of the poppy crowd banner with my elderly father, proud to be there with him at that moment.

I love my country, in my own little way, for it’s beauty and vast history, as patchy as that may have been at times, although even in those moments they are there to be learnt from to better ourselves as humans, but what really makes me sick to the stomach at been British are the people that seemingly go around saying they represent us all as the best of British, when they are nothing more than what I have previously stated, red-faced, angry, pompous, jingoistic, and stereotypically British right-wingers.

Also, thought you’d also be interested in knowing, over the past 18 years I’ve lived and worked in Russia, China and now West Africa, and I’m yet to come running back with my tail between my legs, oh well.

I hope thats a somewhat acceptable retort to your above ramblings.

Am I right that BBC spending millions on the likes of politico Lineaker and pundits living it up in Qatar but didn’t show Opening Ceremony as a political gesture ?

Flesh creepy hypocrisy if that’s the case
Bring them home at their own cost or Beckham can pay
    Its all very unpleasant

Apologies if that’s incorrect but it seems even more unsavoury than I realised.

Fenham the concept of slander doesn’t exist when it comes to a country.

That notwithstanding, it might still be worth explaining, even to a less than bright bloke like you, that I don’t hate your country. In fact I’m quite comfortable and happy when I visit it, even if it has many shiteholes. Like most countries.

As a general summary , I don’t like your soccer team much, or the hooligans that attach themselves to it. I don’t like your rugby team much either, but that’s just rivalry. In general the vast vast majority of Irish people would have similar allegiances and antipathy. Fking around with my country for 800 years tends to leave that taste. But its cool. I believe you lot are our highest immigrant group now, or were a couple of years ago anyway, so all is good.

If England were competing in say, basketball or cricket, I don’t mind if they win or lose . Or horse riding, whatever.

I also generally am very fond of the English, and at parties almost always end up chatting to people from your country. We have much in common. If I meet English tourists, especially fishermen, I enjoy making sure they enjoy their time here. That’s what I call pride in your country. I’m not sure you would recognise that.

The English I don’t like are jingoistic, small minded, feel they are superior, and are a bit, boring. The Reece Moggs of the world. You sadly produce plenty of mini Reece Moggs over there. Remember, I lived there. O would think lots of nice English people don’t like them either!

So guys like you and Tuffty are hugely unappealing. But I could name dozens of others on here who are grand, because they are different to you. The majority, obviously.

That’s easy to get your head around, isn’t it?

Sorry for war and peace, as you would say, but it’s worth clarifying.

The blog is not a mire for the majority who talk all things football and importantly NUFC as well as having the craic as we used to in the pubs and clubs before Covid and social media took over.
The minority who seem to be squabbling are the ‘table in the corner’ who can keep their own company.
Conversation is everything, listening is an art.

    #65 your post is confusing…

Ok so you’ve stated that you’ve served in the armed forces therefore you must know that all applicants must be informed before the application form is completed that if accepted for service in the armed forces, you will be required to swear an oath of allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen at the time you served or if someone was to sign up now His Majesty the King.

Didn’t you swear an oath mate. Not having a go just curious. As I did and I will
