Newcastle Reportedly Rate Fleet-Footed Ecuador International Very Highly

Newcastle are reportedly keen on Real Valladolid winger Gonzalo Plata. The 22-year-old is in Ecuador’s starting eleven against Qatar today to kick off the 2022 World Cup. Despite only turning 22 earlier this month, Plata already has 30 caps for Ecuador.

Journalist Dean Jones, in Give Me Sport, touts Plata to star on the world stage while claiming Newcastle rate him highly. Brighton, who have three of Plata’s international teammates on board, are also tracking the winger.

Plata joined Valladolid this past summer moving from Portuguese giants Sporting CP for around £2.5m. He spent two seasons in Lisbon with 38 appearances and 8 goal contributions. He is an academy product of Ecuador’s Independiente, which is where Brighton star Moises Caicedo got his start.

Plata has continued his upward trajectory this season with 2 assists in his 10 appearances in Spain. While two injuries have limited him, there is little the 5’10” speedster can’t do on the flanks.

The left footer is primarily deployed on the right where he can cut inside. While his pace and dribbling skill often catch the eye, he can pick out a pass and also is very tenacious off the ball.

Plata is one of a number of up-and-coming stars that Newcastle should have their eye on in this World Cup. He certainly fits the bill for what Newcastle are looking for in a wide attacker. Though he only just joined Valladolid in the summer with a contract to 2027.

Which Would You Prefer Newcastle Achieve This Season?

Fenham, looking at it dispassionately, you can see that a broad thinking guy like Zhon, or Dayvan, have no issues with 95%, at a guess, of people on here. They only dislike aggressive ponces like you with your little minded Daily Mail disposition.

You can see that can’t you? Would it ever dawn on you to wonder why that might be?

For example. I love reading Zhons obsession with youthful players. He has his beliefs and he is worth reading, but he doesn’t slag off people for not being uber Brits.

Maybe the deep mourning affected you. You are definitely worse than when your queen was alive.

As for those that are hopeful of doing sneaky transfers, in between matches.

It looks like we are phooked..I mean they ffs! 😉

TPM, as a Global satellite engineer, I can confirm that that the Earth is flat. With a slight curve. Here and there.
    ?
    only 360 degrees

Ah, so it’s roundly flat…why didn’t you say so in the first place?….not too bright are ya my engineering friend?

Quite a lot of Qataris left the game at half time and even more after an hour or so. Maybe they were really expecting to win. I wonder if the will bother showing up for the Senegal & Netherlands games.

Munster. I have kept kept quiet with you. However, you are objectionable in the extreme. I do appreciate that you coach a team, which I know is hard work. You get my thumbs up for that.

My mum, Irish, always told me. “If you can’t speak well of someone, say nothing at all”

I have obviously ignored good advice.

2 things I took away from the WC opener.

    (1) Dodgy VAR decisions is not just confined to the EPL

    (2) Plata looks a decent player, only 22 but played like an experienced 28 year old international. Looks a decent player, hope there is truth in our interest in him. Looked into reports on him and he is a very grounded level headed young man and a good athlete and trainer. Right up Wor Eddies street

Maybe start with the 3 3 degrees and move on? Will try

1300hrs kick off against Iran tomorrow. Ffs?

Plenty of sickies getting put in tomorrow. I’ve just emailed my MD and advised him that my cat has stumped it’s paw on a door frame and is limping so I have it booked in at the vets for 1300hrs to have it x-rated…He said “it’s fine thanks for letting me know. By the way my parrot has just told the kids to F off so has it booked in at 1300hrs with a parrot whisperer to learn it some manners”. 😉

So, Qatari`s love their football eh, really?
I wouldn`t call them fans, but watching the spectators leaving after 60 minutes tells me all i need to know about how much interest they have in the beautiful game, absolutely embarrassing those scenes.
Makes you wonder how empty the stadiums will be once Qatar are eliminated.
