Gareth Southgate Protecting Wilson As He Sits Out Today’s Session

England boss Gareth Southgate is determined to protect Newcastle striker Callum Wilson. According to The Athletic, the 30-year-old is on a different program from the rest of the squad.

Eddie Howe implemented something similar for his star striker after his latest injury in September. Southgate will take precautions to help ensure Wilson remains fit during this World Cup.

Wilson is one of many England players that didn’t participate in today’s session. Southgate also rested his starting eleven while Leicester City’s James Maddison has yet to train with the squad after suffering a minor knee injury before the break.

Wilson came on for Harry Kane in yesterday’s 6-2 win over Iran. Kane was limping after the match but is reportedly fine today. Callum provided the assist on Jack Grealish’s goal in the 90th minute. Kieran Trippier played the entire match which had 24 minutes of added time.

Next up for England is the United States, who drew 1-1 against Wales in their opener yesterday. The Americans dominated the first half before Wales manager Rob Page tweaked his tactics bringing striker Bournemouth striker Kieffer Moore on for Leeds’ Daniel James after the break.

The tactical change resulted in a much better half for Wales, who equalized on a converted penalty from Gareth Bale. United States boss Gregg Berhalter opted against bringing young Dortmund star Gio Reyna on despite the 20-year-old declaring he is 100% fit and ready to go.

The pundits would moan about whoever suddenly had enough money to upset the old order – seem quite happy to go to Qatar and take the money – not one pundit or player has had the balls to say “No, I won’t go – I have principles and have already slated PiF ownership of toon so I’m going to stick by my morals”
Haven’t seen any of them parading around Doha or anywhere else with banners declaring equal rights for women, gay people etc… pointless preaching on TV to a british only audience

I’ve no time for them at all

We should really apologise to Wales for any historical badness our ancestors carried out towards it. That should sort it all out and make it all better 😆

    Completely agree Mort.
Tires of so called Pundits saying “that’s what they’ve got to do more of” or “that’s what I expected them to do …”

How about you describe that, in detail, before it happens in a pre match prediction. Friggin nonouts

Clinath I like how they do it on Monday night football on sky with that touchscreen desk. Where Neville and Carragher try their best to explain.

Scotland don’t appear to hate Newcastle in fairness. Most Scottish people I’ve met have a soft spot for us as a city and people. They hate the rest of them though, with a passion.

But we’re canny… I think it’s the same for the Irish too (looking at the Irish contingent of blog posters here).

Can’t speak for Wales though, I have only ever worked with one Welsh lad and he hated everything, at all times, with no exceptions.

Also, the pundits are appalling – Neville and Carragher excluded as they do a pretty decent job of trying to breakdown tactics and performances. I think their biases come out regularly though which I think is a let down, but at least they analyse a game and try to explain why something is good or bad.

Keane is a gobshite, still bitter that Shearer fronted him up and didn’t cower.

    It’s a special feeling.”

Night shift is a bummer but it has it`s advantages, especially this week .
Never missed a game yet, catching a nap between games and hoping for the best when i go on shift .
Well done to the Saudi`s with that awesome display, their CB looks quality , can`t remember his name, Al Keebab or some such.
I wonder how much he would cost.
He was MOTM by a mile imo.

Sadly it looks like Messi is finished as a player he just doesn’t run or move much. Then if you have likes of Di Maria being the worse player on the pitch and only one player in box for crosses you wont win the world cup like that.
