Newcastle Monitoring The Situation Of Another Star On Expiring Contract – Report

One of Newcastle’s plans in the winter window appears to be targeting players on expiring contracts. Over the weekend, a report claimed Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram had hit the shortlist.

The French international will have just six months left on his contract in January. He seems headed for the open market with Gladbach unable to tie down their star striker on a new deal.

Newcastle World has cited reports from France that Lyon attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar is still an option for Newcastle. The 24-year-old was initially linked soon after the summer window closed and like Thuram, seems destined to become a free agent at season’s end.

After a tumultuous summer in which Aouar was desperate to depart Lyon, he found himself frozen out by manager Peter Bosz. However, the former Leverkusen boss was sacked in October after a tepid start.

In came Laurent Blanc, who immediately placed his compatriot into his starting eleven. Aouar started the final six matches before the World Cup break scoring 1 goal. He has still yet to commit his future to the club he has spent his entire career with.

Newcastle are reportedly keeping their eyes on the talented midfielder. However, AC Milan are leading the chase and Lyon may decide to sell Aouar to the highest bidder in January rather than lose their Academy product for nothing.

His price tag in recent years was as high as £40m but he’ll be available for a fraction of that this winter. The talented Frenchman could be one to watch when the winter opens as he’ll fill a creative need on Tyneside.

I wish someone would just put souness out of his and our misery. Guy never misses a chance to slag us off. Says his time here was ”horrible”. What the hell did he think the fans thought !!!

Ref Extra time. FIFA stated before the tournament that an independent time keeper would stop the clock on all stoppages, subs etc etc.
Basically, we are getting 45 mins ball in play

Oliver holt giving out about the ksa result, taking a needless dig at Newcastle fans saying there will be massive celebrations in big market after that result..

Some Newcastle fan made a genius reply, saying “buzzing, we go above City if we see this out”

    Lol lol lol

That is EXACTLY how we should be replying to all this salt. Same with the old favourite we spent our way to 3rd.

Just tell them #oilpower and tell them how delicious it is being richer than everyone else.

I’m telling you if we all did this, just watch how fast they stop with these nonsense posts.

Fight fire with fire, all they are looking for is a reaction and to see they have upset us. Show them it’s the opposite and the reality is we’re laughing at them.

The Referee Panel said they would be penalising timewasting and quite right in my view. The 4th official is in charge of estimating added time. More power to their elbow.

Just popped on with a few quick observations,
    (1) Hearty congrats to KSA – marvellous result.
    (2) Good to see we’re getting full “ball in play” timing, but agree it should be visible to all in order to avoid all the accusations of skullduggery.
    (3) Hats off to JohnJ for a very measured and sensible post last night.
    (4) I was brought up with a bit of a Mantra when visiting others, “when in Rome” etc. this basically meant that wherever you were travelling to or just visiting friends, you respected your hosts, their way of life, beliefs, customs etc.
This seems to be something else we’ve lost in recent years, we now seem to be entitled to visit other Countries and basically slag them off for being different. Irrespective of the circumstances/politics/HR (and like most others I believe Qatar should never have been gifted the WC) as it’s a “fait accompli” shouldn’t we respect them in their own Country rather than taking every opportunity to deride them? A lot of the comments made by broadcasters feel somehow wrong and hypocritical to me.

So I’ve been gone a few days (in the far east, they have no sense of proper time here) and I see the Bard strikes again with another overhead kick. Well done.

However, I’d like to see the uncensored version too 🙂

Oliver Holt is a pathetic sad man. His prejudices are affecting his ability to enjoy what was an excellent game of football. Saudia Arabia were worthy winners.
Their defensive organisation was superb allied with skillful and clinical attacking prowess.

    RH,
I couldn’t stand Sounness, partially blame him for our subsequent downfall, but did you expect him to say anything else?

I’d expect Bruce, Gullit, big Sam and others would agree.

I suspect you and I would’ve said the same in similar conditions.

Souness was having a pop at Freddie Shepherd they other day. I cannot remember Souness having a go at Shepherd when he was alive.
That to me is the lowest of the low.
