Kuol Discusses World Cup Debut As He Vows To Continue Working Hard

Garang Kuol made his World Cup debut in Australia’s 4-1 defeat against France last night. The 18-year-old came on for lone Aussie goalscorer Craig Goodwin in the 73rd minute.

The appearance was Kuol’s 2nd cap for the Socceroos. He made his debut against Chris Wood and New Zealand during the September international break. In entering the match last night, Kuol became the 9th youngest player in World Cup history.

France’s dominance after Australia took the early lead continued after Kuol’s entrance. France were pushing for more goals which meant little joy for the teenager up front with few touches.

After the match, Kuol spoke to CodeSports about his experience. The Shields Gazette has published the following from the young attacker.

“To see six-foot-four people as quick as me just shows the big difference between me and some of those players. Only hard work is going to mean making it to that level. Good to get that taste.

“It felt pretty long chasing France around! When I came on I was just excited to show what I can do. I think it’s something I need to look at with the coaches to see how I can get on the ball more.”

Next up for the Aussies is Tunisia, who battled Denmark to a scoreless draw yesterday. Hopefully, Garang will get another opportunity to shine this Saturday. While his debut was frustrating, it’ll be a valuable learning experience.

Kuol was also asked about his pending move to Newcastle United in January. He revealed that he continues to receive a lot of support from the Toon army. He even stated that he wears black and white shoes in support of his future club.

It also looks like Harry Kane’s scan on his ankle has shown no damage according to multiple reports. England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford also revealed that Kane took part in today’s session ahead of Friday’s match against the USA.

Hopefully he’ll get more game time and we’ll get another look at him.

Way the results are dropping at the minute I’m tempted to put a tenner on Costa Rica to beat Spain?

I like Mbappes question to him when he came on….“He said, ‘sup bro, you good?” Kuol said of his encounter with the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

Kuol responds…..”come to the Toon and find out” 🙂

I bet Jamal Musiala wishes he hadn’t switched his allegiance from England to Germany after playing for us as an U21 player. Southgate gives youth a chance if they’re good enough. Imagine him and Bellingham in our midfield. Would have been mental.

Their keeper played the game of his life against Germany. He made some great stops, especially that phase in the second half when he made three or four saves one after the other to keep Germany out. Sometimes you have games like that as a keeper and you really don’t know how you did it. Everything just goes your way sometimes (can you tell I’m in the goalkeeper’s union?).

You should definitely stick a tenner on Costa Rica to beat Spain. It’s absolutely possible.

Still haven`t missed a game since the comp started, the best game so far imo has been the Saudi`s beating Messi and co, but Japans win over the Bratwurst bunch runs it close.
The gulf between the lesser teams in the world cup seems to be getting less and less over the decades. no way would the Saudi`s of beaten Argentina 30 years ago, like wise Japan beating Germany, and its bloody fantastic watching these smaller football nations kicking their asses.
Anybody know anything about Costa Rica?
Im expecting a bit of flair from this lot and them giving Spain a good game.

On domestic football. Does anyone feel that with Man Utd and Liverpool up for sale, that their transfer spending power may be severely diminished?
The respective owners may be reluctant to sanction big money deals while they structure a sale.
We were hamstrung for at least 12 years as Ashley restructured the finances if the club to make it an attractive proposition.

Spain in a different Class here, playing a beautiful brand of controlled football a bit like Barcelona at their best, it’s hard to see another shock in this match.

As said Marschall Ney “An army is like a chain, no more strong than the weakest of his link.”

    Same for a Football team.

France got some real strengths… but some weakness as well, so being world champion again, well, tough achievement.

Niafron – England back 4/5 will have a disaster against the pace of France’s forwards. It would be a high scorer and favour your boys for sure.

Maybe a 3-2 game. Mbappe and Dembele looked really good.

However Bellingham and Mount might find some space to hurt you iffy back 5 an all.

Already looking forward to it. I mean its not as if this world cup is producing shocks..

I don’t comment very often but read every day.
Early observations of the world cup Cesar Ramos Mexican referee Denmark the only ref to stand up to some ludicrous penalty decisions and let the tackles flow it is a contact sport.
Var is a joke but what has been a breath of fresh air is the time added on for the time wasters the fake injuries should not be up to ref . The so called super powers are still trying to win with yesterday’s stars so some good and bad to take on board.

In other news Man Utd fans are holding a poll over on their forum as to who should buy them. The options are:

    A) Americans (some random American billionaire like Kroenke, Boehly, Glazers…)
    B) Oil money
    C) Jim Ratcliffe and co
    D) Elon Musk

Most of them want C, B is more popular than D and they don’t want A. As to who’s oil money they would like they are interested in Dubai.

If you try to transfer out someone who has already played then that transfer will apply to the next game week.

The Arabic cup ( Iran do not play it… for this is not an arabic country… ) give an advantage to Asian nations:

    4 wins for Irak.
    2 for Saudi Arabia.
1 for Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.

It is not true Raj, I tried to sell Damsgaard to replace with Trossard and it said it would be effective in the next game week, I wanted to do the change anyway so I confirmed. Result is I still have Damsgaard in my team this week and when I look at next week I have Trossard. You can test if you like as you don’t have to confirm the change.
