Magpie Could Get The Nod Against The Americans As Kane Faces Scan

Multiple outlets, including The Chronicle and The Shields Gazette, are reporting that England striker Harry Kane is facing a scan on the ankle he injured in the 6-2 win over Iran on Monday.

The striker took a heavy challenge from Iran’s Morteza Pouraliganji but was able to soldier on. England boss Gareth Southgate ultimately withdrew the Spurs star in the 76th minute for Callum Wilson, who provided an assist for Jack Grealish in the 90th minute.

After the match, Southgate proclaimed Kane seemed fine saying:

“I think Harry’s fine. It looked like a bad tackle but he carried on in the game. We took him off because we felt it was a moment in the game we could do that.”

However, it has now emerged that he will undergo a scan to verify any damage to his ankle. If Kane needs a scan, that throws his availability for Friday’s bout with the United States into doubt.

Wilson along with Southgate’s starting eleven were rested for Tuesday’s training session. Reports revealed that Callum is on a different program due to his injury history.

If Kane misses out on Friday, Wilson could get the nod against the USA. Wilson made his debut, in which he scored, against the Americans in November of 2018.

The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards “#nufc have zero interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo as a free agent. Great player but his best days are behind him and his giant sized ego wouldn’t fit into the dressing room culture nurtured by Eddie Howe. #MUFC #Ronaldo

If Ronaldo was still in his early 30’s I would take his hand off, as he is now, I wouldn’t want him anywhere near the Toon. He’s a spent force, whom doesn’t chase the ball enough. Somebody jokingly asked Vincent Kompany yesterday on TV if he would take him at Burnley? His response was ‘Burnley only need players whom can run’!

I don’t forgott about politics. And to be honnest, i love this atmosphere of protest and beautifull games as well.

They tried to package something, and it’s just breaking up… Nature always find his way.

On the plus side for Germany, at least they’ll have plenty of injury time (probably).

Clint I’m either getting soft in my old age or it’s the concussion but I actually won’t care if England win it. When there are no knackers throwing seats and booing anthems it’s a lot easier to be neutral

I think after this result and the Saudi win yesterday all of the ‘small’ teams will be fancying their chances against the big guns. Glad we played Iran before they could get any inspiration!

Afternoon mate, i can`t say i disagree with anything in your post to be perfectly honest, but it`s all outside our control so from that perspective i`m just going to sit back and enjoy all the games my friend. On a side note good luck to France in the tournament, and may the best team lift the trophy Niafron.

Well, i’m for France sure, but will be happy as well with an English victory, you got a beautifull team, and you are such a passionate country about Football ( you invented it by the way… ), it’s just an anomaly you weren’t World champions for so long.

Sure, if we meet in quarterfinal, don’t count on me to be kind between the Kickoff and the end of the game!
