Young Magpie Sees Specialist As Concussion Symptoms Continue

Lucas de Bolle has still made just one appearance for Hamilton during his loan spell. The midfielder continues to suffer from blurred vision after sustaining a concussion with the Newcastle U21s before his loan move in August.

The symptoms cleared up allowing for his debut against Queens Park on September 17th. De Bolle came on as a second-half substitute for a 20-minute run-out in the 2-0 defeat.

The 20-year-old then linked up with the Scotland U21s for the September international break. It was during this period that Lucas’s blurred vision returned. He hasn’t been available for Hamilton since.

Things were looking up late last month as De Bolle was reportedly close to a return to training. However, he’s gone to see a specialist in London this week according to a report in The Daily Record. Thankfully, a recent scan has not revealed any serious issues.

Accies boss John Rankin provided the following on de Bolle’s scan:

“Lucas got an MRI scan on Tuesday. It is something with his vestibula system and the ear sending messages to the brain. That is the explanation I have.

“He is a lot more comfortable with that now than he was before.

“Hopefully he is not too far away. He had to go to London to get the MRI and see a physio who specializes in this sort of thing.

“As far as we are aware Lucas’ scan was clear and he was back at Newcastle on Wednesday morning.

“So, hopefully, he can progress from there and be back involved very soon.

“He’s not trained in a while so he will still be a wee bit away in terms of fitness.”

This situation has turned into a nightmare for the young midfielder. His lingering concussion symptoms has kept him off the pitch for basically three months now. Hopefully, with the scan coming back clear, Lucas is on the road to a full recovery.

“At Ecuador’s opening game against Qatar, to kick off the World Cup on Sunday, some among their massed ranks of yellow-clad fans sang a homophobic chant against Chileans.”

“Ecuador fans also chanted “We want beer!”

they can already do that in China. they prosecute people before they commit a crime.

I spent the time to read thru over 300 comments here. I just need to jump in to say no one would care about a rare political comment or brief debate. The problem is that some people just refuse to let it go. Instead it’s just the same comment repeated over an over. I can’t even imagine typing the same comment over and over. Is it copy & paste?

Where’s Coming Home? Despite his best efforts, it looks as though he’s been deemed not up to the job of hassling posters and been stood down.

And now the head of the WAGs, Lance Corporal Fenham’s reappeared, shown up to show CH and other WAG members how to be a real boor.

    Ah, well.

Man this place is turning hateful and nasty, wanting people badly injured, criticising other countries, left / right loonies etc…

WC is fun to watch but as a side it incites ultranationalism and extremism too.

Enjoy the spectacle, best players in the world on display. And chill.

Well I hit my Wilcard last night and don’t have Kuol in my team, just too much money left over to justify keeping him in my team. At least I thought about it 🙂

Qatar must be deeply regretting paying the bribes to get this World Cup….. They’ ve spent over 200 billies apparently to try and put on a good tournament in order to raise their profile , and have had nothing but adverse publicity and whi ngeing… This political posturing should have been put to bed before the football began…..
Surely its time now to focus on the football…… I reckon we have a fair chance to go far if Southgate lets the handbrake off..

When the FBI uncovered the corruption involved in them getting awarded the thing, it should have been halted in it’s tracks before they were allowed to spend £220B

Jail….. I agree with that but it was never questioned even though it was so blatant…. They’ve had years to investigate but nothing …

To use an overused cliché…. ” It is what it is ”
So we might as well get on with it , enjoy it and hope we win it…

Think as normal countries going overboard with one good performance.

Keeper and centre back will continue to gift chances and goals to teams. We gunna have to score 2 every game i imagine.

Pickford is a clanger waiting to happen. Seems to be on the skittles again.

I officially give up on the World Cup Fantasy Football. Somehow the stupid app had my captain on the bench. No way I did that. He was my top scorer with 11 points doubled to 22. Totally lost interest after that…

    TDSarf,
I 100% changed my captain from Foden to Trippier before the game week started yet it kept it on Estupian before they’d even kicked off, the game has rightly gone down as a shambles.

Raj – not just me then. I had mine as Valencia as I thought they’d stuff Qatar. He got 2 goals and he’s sitting on my bench with 22 points. Ridiculous. Not even going to bother making changes for the next matches. I’ll just delete the app to be honest.

Check – if it’s win or bust, then virtually every country will fail. The likes of Italy and Sweden aren’t even at the World Cup, Argentina & Germany lost in shock results too. Why be negative about England?

I’m gonna enjoy the tournament for as long as possible. I don’t believe that we have the best team and best chance to win (I said Brazil before and stand by it now) but we have a chance at least.

cleveleysbob – agreed, could have been a lot of fun for fans. I understand that it’s not worth spending a fortune developing an app for a few weeks every 4 years, so I don’t understand why they couldn’t just repurpose one of true fantastic apps out there for Fantasy Football in leagues. Would cost a bit of money for sure but would add to the experience too.

Where are you watching the game tonight? I’ve booked a table for a few of us at a local pub.

By the way, William the Conqueror isn’t an important figure in french history ( save sure in Normandy…).

Is generaly considered as an english king rather than a french lord ( wich is discussable, but this is the perception of general public ).
