Lucas de Bolle has still made just one appearance for Hamilton during his loan spell. The midfielder continues to suffer from blurred vision after sustaining a concussion with the Newcastle U21s before his loan move in August.
The symptoms cleared up allowing for his debut against Queens Park on September 17th. De Bolle came on as a second-half substitute for a 20-minute run-out in the 2-0 defeat.
The 20-year-old then linked up with the Scotland U21s for the September international break. It was during this period that Lucas’s blurred vision returned. He hasn’t been available for Hamilton since.
Things were looking up late last month as De Bolle was reportedly close to a return to training. However, he’s gone to see a specialist in London this week according to a report in The Daily Record. Thankfully, a recent scan has not revealed any serious issues.
Accies boss John Rankin provided the following on de Bolle’s scan:
“Lucas got an MRI scan on Tuesday. It is something with his vestibula system and the ear sending messages to the brain. That is the explanation I have.
“He is a lot more comfortable with that now than he was before.
“Hopefully he is not too far away. He had to go to London to get the MRI and see a physio who specializes in this sort of thing.
“As far as we are aware Lucas’ scan was clear and he was back at Newcastle on Wednesday morning.
“So, hopefully, he can progress from there and be back involved very soon.
“He’s not trained in a while so he will still be a wee bit away in terms of fitness.”
This situation has turned into a nightmare for the young midfielder. His lingering concussion symptoms has kept him off the pitch for basically three months now. Hopefully, with the scan coming back clear, Lucas is on the road to a full recovery.

Comment #242Neymar is now so unprofessional and he looks overweight.
I saw him play at the Nou Camp a few years ago and he was sensational.
He just did not like living in the shadow of Messi.

Comment #247Check – Ronaldo was struggling to get game time for Man Utd and he was whinging about it. You think he’d be happy competing with Wilson and Isak? And no European football?
Meanwhile, we’ve built a squad all about togetherness. No huge egos or players who think they’re better than the others. Ronaldo thinks he’s better than everyone!
There’s no way that Ronaldo wants to join us and no way that Howe is wants to sign Ronaldo. 0% multiplied by 0% = 0%

Comment #248Check – no pelters from me. I think you’re WAY off base on this one but everyone is entitled to their opinions and at least it’s a footballing opinion! 🙂
I still think you’re full of sh*t on this topic though. 😉

Really annoy everyone.
Ronaldo signs for Saudi club. They pay him wot he wants.
Loan him to us, we pay him 20k a week.
Who cares. Bypass the whole system.
I mean, could yer do that?

Comment #252I also think its highly unlikely, but its a touch higher than 0%.
In fact the betting exchange have it at 15% – 20% chance. As we are 11/2 to bag him.
They the experts. Let that sink in….
But some folk are saying 0% and ignoring the experts… no way…

Comment #254Check@237 good point but we are in a slightly different phase in the project compared to when we signed Trips or Wood.
Ronaldo is a different kettle of fish entirely. My best way of describing the problem with signing him is this. Picture this scenario…
We sign him, we play Man Utd at SjP (could be any team but obviously I shall pick Man Utd for fun) Wilson or Isak starts and score a hat-trick…Ronaldo watches from the bench…NUFC win 3-0.
Is it just me picturing the post match team photo where everyone is happy except one guy?

Comment #255Check – 15-20%? I’m guessing they just want to tempt bets. If I can find some odds on it NOT happening, I’ll happily place that bet.

Comment #256Check I guarantee you, there are systems in place to stop clubs doing that. No way in hell we’d get away with a Saudi club buying him and loaing him to us for essentially nothing.

Comment #271Darnik – I’m not questioning your mate. But this doctor could still be a piece of racist sh*t so I prefer to believe the actual statistics rather than ONE third hand story from a doctor.
The NHS is overwhelmed due to government cuts. Many NHS patients are foreigners/immigrants who pay their taxes and have as much right to treatment as you and I. My girlfriend is one of those people.
Your friend shouldn’t blame immigrants, he should blame the government for the lack of investment in the NHS.
