Young Magpie Sees Specialist As Concussion Symptoms Continue

Lucas de Bolle has still made just one appearance for Hamilton during his loan spell. The midfielder continues to suffer from blurred vision after sustaining a concussion with the Newcastle U21s before his loan move in August.

The symptoms cleared up allowing for his debut against Queens Park on September 17th. De Bolle came on as a second-half substitute for a 20-minute run-out in the 2-0 defeat.

The 20-year-old then linked up with the Scotland U21s for the September international break. It was during this period that Lucas’s blurred vision returned. He hasn’t been available for Hamilton since.

Things were looking up late last month as De Bolle was reportedly close to a return to training. However, he’s gone to see a specialist in London this week according to a report in The Daily Record. Thankfully, a recent scan has not revealed any serious issues.

Accies boss John Rankin provided the following on de Bolle’s scan:

“Lucas got an MRI scan on Tuesday. It is something with his vestibula system and the ear sending messages to the brain. That is the explanation I have.

“He is a lot more comfortable with that now than he was before.

“Hopefully he is not too far away. He had to go to London to get the MRI and see a physio who specializes in this sort of thing.

“As far as we are aware Lucas’ scan was clear and he was back at Newcastle on Wednesday morning.

“So, hopefully, he can progress from there and be back involved very soon.

“He’s not trained in a while so he will still be a wee bit away in terms of fitness.”

This situation has turned into a nightmare for the young midfielder. His lingering concussion symptoms has kept him off the pitch for basically three months now. Hopefully, with the scan coming back clear, Lucas is on the road to a full recovery.

cleveleysbob – I’d happily have a beer with you. We could set a one beer limit to talk about anything serious and then it would be just football and non-serious stuff. I reckon I can down a pint pretty quickly if the conversation got out of hand! 🙂

German team has their photo taken with their hands over their mouths over the “OneLove” armband, and it has made a difference.

They’ve now pulled ahead of the US squad into first place for the even more coveted first-prize of the woke-virtue-signalling standings.

Call me old fashioned but The World Cup used to be a prestigious Football Tournament…..
Its now been reduced to a platform for political whingeing……. Saddens me to see football becoming a vehicle for political discussion…

Is buying ManU akin to trying to Raise the Titanic ?
And buying Liverpool akin to going over the Niagra Falls in a barrell !

Makes buying United like finding Wonkas Golden Ticket.

This is why Southgate is perfect for the FA ‘s PC brigade.. Imagine wor Bobby or Brian Clough tiptoeing around everyone and everything for fear of offending someone.

Loch, they’ve both got the World Wide fan base which makes them attractive to investors, their trophy cabinet over the period from the 1980’s to now is mightily impressive.

However, they are both on a downward curve at the moment and it’s us, City and Arsenal on an upward one. From a pure investment viewpoint, we are indeed the “Golden Ticket”.

People are complaining about discussing politics on here yet complaining about football including politics or for being “woke” is discussing politics! You can’t expect to bring up comments like that from one side of the argument without inviting others to disagree.

The people who disagree can choose to just say you don’t know what you’re talking about or they can present some information that might help you refine your opinion if you’re slightly open minded…

True except for a few points Betty:

In that era the concept of “woke” simply did not exist. If you want to explain how alternative managers were “woke” good luck with that theory.

“Woke” is a modern terminology. It is also meaningless in reality. Just like most modern terminology.

    Define woke….

    🙂

That Bobby Robson documentary is thee most moving documentary I’ve ever watched.

It really does show how great the late great SBR was. Absolutely loved football, loved the toon and touched many lives in the football arena. Pep, Mourinho, Gazza, Fergie, R9 and many others. He breeds respect and a true thoroughbred Geordie. RIP SBR – He will be looking down with amazement and casting a fond eye as to what his club Newcastle United FC has become. Yes mate it moved me 😉

Some of the chaps at the old colonial club over here got rather giddy on Monday during England’s demolition of those pesky Iranians…
There was joy in the air with a fair bit of prancing around on the lawn , all helped along by copious quantities of Pimms..
