Newcastle appear to be set to make yet another behind-the-scenes appointment. It’s one that could pay massive dividends for the future of the club as it involves youth recruitment.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Paul Midgley will become the new Head of Youth Recruitment at St. James’ Park. Midgley had been a northern youth scout with Manchester City since August.
Newcastle have reached an agreement to hire Paul Midgley as Head of Youth Recruitment — joining from Man City where he was regional scout. ????? #NUFC
Agreement in place and deal done as Newcastle want to improve all club’s areas.
— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) November 26, 2022
This could be an excellent appointment for Newcastle. Midgley is a well-respected judge of young talent. Prior to joining City, he was Leeds United’s Head of Academy Recruitment where he oversaw the signings of players aged 12 to 16.
Midgley will oversee a critical aspect of Newcastle’s rise back to prominence. The talent scout should come ready with a number of domestic names after focusing on the north for the defending Premier League champions.
Newcastle have also been linked with a number of foreign youth targets in recent months. Many hail from South America with talent-rich Brazil a primary area of focus. Recently interest in Flamengo wonderkid Matheus Franca came to light.
Aussie talent Garang Kuol will be the first signing of the winter window with Newcastle primed to add more young talent. Kuol didn’t play in Australia’s 1-0 win over Tunisia today.

Comment #3KSA players were all awarded with brand new Rolls-Royce Phantoms for beating Argentina.
What would they win if they get to the quarterfinals / semifinals / Final or even win the tournament?
No wonder they’re playing like a well oiled Eddie Howe team.

Comment #8I think munsters default position of still slagging rafa 5 years on is that having got just about everything else hopelessly wrong he feels a desperate need for valediction to deflect from his terribly flawed judgement. Rafa is forever his perpetual pinyata to beat.

Comment #10Proper sucker punch from Poland. It was all KSA until Poland scored. Lewandowski Made it that’s the difference I guess. WC players can change a game out of nowhere.

Comment #12Nah, just happen to be correct 🙂 . Validated , if you like. If you had a bit more maturity and self awareness you’d be big enough to fess up to that. Couldn’t take an alternative point of view then, and can’t take it now when its shown to be correct. Take a bow.

Comment #19Terrible pen by KSA. I could see in the KSA players face about to take the pen, he was shatting himself. You always think he/she could miss this. It turned out to be the case. Still think KSA will win this one very impressed by them really dangerous team.

Comment #20That No 23 Kanno for KSA looks a very decent AMF player mind. Bags of skill and energy. Nippy for a big lad with fast deft touches.
Gonna watch him closely 2nd half, plays for Al Hilal…Saudi Football Club.

Comment #22Catchy; I think you were being very generous describing Kane’s touches as a heat map. A cold map would be a more suitable description. 🙂
I’m pleased Hazard has made a stand about the controversy surrounding this tournament.

Comment #23Dik Moanster is obviously searching the internet for footage of punch ups – as per one of his earlier posts.
Shows the mentality.
Earlier we had a lustful lazy loon talking about having it away with girls from university.
Such base a lustful misogyny and supported by that perv Dik.
One thing is for sure they will never have any romances with girls at university as they are too thick to get there in the first place
The blogs very own “Buffalo Bills” – they’ll be cleaning their night vision googles for tonights peeping/perving.
