The confirmation of Paul Midgley as the new Head of Youth Recruitment could be imminent. Both Craig Hope and Fabrizio Romano, who broke the news over the weekend are stating that Midgley’s move to Newcastle is a done deal.
Paul Midgley will start work at Newcastle this week, joining from Man City in academy recruitment role. More scouting appointments expected across all levels of club #nufc

Paul Midgley to Newcastle, done and confirmed. ????? #NUFC https://t.co/4dg6goicEJ
— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) November 28, 2022
Midgley held a similar position with Leeds prior to his arrival at Manchester City as a northern regional scout in August. At Leeds, he was responsible for the recruitment of players aged 12 to 16.
Judging by the young talent at Elland Road, Midgley could be a monumental appointment for Newcastle United. The club are determined to add quality to the Academy with a number of teenagers linked with January moves.
Australian international Garang Kuol will join in January after his signing was confirmed during the September international break. Kuol has been outstanding for Central Coast Mariners as he eyes another opportunity with Australia in their final group match against Denmark on Wednesday.
Yesterday, The NUFC Women defeated the Barnsely Women 2-1 in a second-half comeback in the Women’s FA Cup. The highlights of the cup win can be seen in the YouTube video below.

cleveleysbob – yet if I stated my point of view in response to that, I’d be accused of starting a whole discussion on the topic.
I can’t be “stating your point of view” when it agrees with what you think and “arguing” when it agrees with what I think.

A can of lager/beer fits perfectly in the cup holder on my recliner. I think it was designed for that purpose and is why I bought it.

Two emergency lights on the safety showers to replace. Easy I hear you say, an hour a piece, you’ll get the full Brazil game you reckon. Not on your nellie, right bloody carry on, might just get the second half 😕
Nov 28, 2022 at 3:32 PMComment #26
Raj – I’m not sure why some people are surprised that Bruno isn’t starting. International managers tend to show some loyalty to players who get them to major tournaments rather than replace them with players who have been in good form for their club.
Some people slate Southgate for this but every international team is run the same way.

I don’t slate him for his selection, but for lying about it and thinking no one would notice.
He said from day one that he’d make selections based on form and then proceeded to select players that have no right being there. No one will ever convince me that Maguire should have gone over Burn. I don’t care about international form, he’s shite week in week out, likewise with Pickford. Pope should be in nets on form, Burn should be in the squad (not necessarily starting) over Maguire based on form.
If you’re going to pick your favourites just don’t say anything and draw attention to it, and no eyes would be batted as every England manager in my lifetime has done the same.
Nov 28, 2022 at 3:41 PMComment #36
Yeah I admit , that was a poor effort tbf ! 😉

How many off shore sparkies does it take to change light bulb ?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.
6 to argue over whether it’s ‘lightbulb’ or ‘light bulb’.
Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid.
22 to tell THOSE 6 to stop being jerks.
5 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is ‘lamp’.
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that ‘light bulb’ is perfectly correct.
49 to post memes and gifs (several are of Michael Jackson eating popcorn with the words added, “I’m just here for the comments.”)
19 to post that this page is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a light bulb page.
11 to defend the posting to this page saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant here.
24 to discuss the merits of LED/swirly fluorescent light bulbs
44 to claim LED and fluorescent bulbs will kill you.
12 to post F.
8 to ask what F means.
7 to post ‘Following’ but there’s 3 dots at the top right that means you don’t have to.
15 to say “can’t share”
2 to reply “can’t share from a closed group”
36 People to post pics of their own light bulbs.
15 People to post “I can’t see S$%^!” and use their own light bulbs.
6 to report the post or PM an admin because someone said “f÷×$”
4 to say “Didn’t we go through this already a short time ago?”.
13 to say “Do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs”.
5 admins to ban the light bulb posters who took it all too seriously.
1 late arrival to comment on the original post 6 months later and start it all over again.
20 to give up on fb and take their dogs for a walk instead.*****
And then somebody announces they are leaving the group over the light bulb post, and someone replies back that this isn’t an airport so you don’t need to announce your departure.

That’s why Germany have one countless more trophies than England.
If Fullkrug was English he’d never have been in the England squad to score a vital equaliser. Southgate would persist with Kane who for some reason thinks he’s a centre mid when playing for England.
If Vardy hadn’t told Southgate not to bother considering him anymore, he’d most likely be there ahead of Wilson.
