Newcastle are back at it tomorrow evening with a tough match at Crystal Palace. Eddie Howe will likely alter his preferred eleven despite the revelation Bruno will be available.
Craig Hope is reporting on Twitter that the influential midfielder has recovered enough to make the trip to Selhurst Park which is outstanding news. Though Howe will most likely proceed with caution and save him as an impact sub.
Joelinton will likely slot into the midfield three with Sean Longstaff sitting deep. Howe’s decision could be down to starting either Allan Saint-Maximin or Alexander Isak with a potential change of shape.
I suspect Howe will go with Saint-Maximin in the familiar 4-3-3. The Frenchman was an automatic starter prior to his hamstring injury in August. Howe initially went with Saint-Maximin after Bruno’s removal against Fulham.
This is the team I am predicting Howe will name tomorrow with the lone, somewhat forced change. Isak and Guimaraes can potentially get a lengthy cameo depending on how the night unfolds.
Howe did throw out a scenario during his press conference this morning which alluded to Isak playing on the left. Howe stated Alex’s versatility was a primary factor in his capture and that he can play on the left; though he admitted it wasn’t his best position.
Returning Saint-Maximin back to the starting eleven could reignite the Frenchman, who hasn’t had much of an impact since returning from his injury. A league start could be just what he needs to rediscover his form, which would be a timely boost for the second half of the season.

Comment #282I think another very slim victory…not sure everyones found their shooting boots just yet and CP work very very hard under PV.
They lack threat up front but do defend vigourously from the front and rely on breaks.
I think the game will be very similar to last week v Fulham…but Fulham slightly better than CP to be fair

Comment #284Cheers Davas that’s what I thought too when I read it again. The interesting thing is they have asked to extend it out too.
Anyways focus on ourselves as others have said just keep getting the points and it’s in our own hands

Comment #286I think Gordon would be a very astute signing. His style of play would suit our tenacious and intensity front foot football approach. I know we dislike him for his in your face obnoxious antics. However Eddie would manage that out of him and could turn him into a great player.
He is English, Young, EPL experience, huge potential, and a very dangerous player on his day.
However, as part of the deal he’d have to have a good old fashioned army crew cut. We cannot have him with that Claire Baldwin look.
I’d have the lad all day long. Schar would have him too mind if he set his lip up again 😉

5-5, por que?
A drab 0-0 with both sets of fans booing would be better.

Comment #288I’m going for a close game today.
2-1 to the toon. Howay get that 8 point cushion to 5th place.
Chelsea and LiVARfool score draw.
I’ve a sneaky feeling Fulham will bounce back against Spuds and roast them.
As far as tomorrow goes Howay the smoggies smash the unwashed tomorrow. Would like to see a NE team in the EPL and Boro would do for me.

Comment #291Selhurst Park has never been a happy hunting ground for us, but then again London in general hasn`t been a great place to go for points until recently.
Would love another win today but ile be happy with a point as long as we play well.
Bruno being included in the trip is interesting, i think he will feature at some point, no point in taking him otherwise.
2-1 Toon.

Comment #297Just got to be alert to their counter attack I reckon. Deal with that effectively and we should get something.
Zaha, Eze and Olise need to be kept quiet. Botman’s got big pockets, plenty space for the three of them 😆

Comment #298As good as Palace are at home if we want to be genuine top 4 contenders we need to be beating them.
I’m a little worried about it, I thought we were going to sneak a 0-2 win until I realised we can’t seem to score a single goal against them lately and in our last 5 games against them we haven’t been able to score more than one goal against them home or away.
This is going to be a very very tough match which could genuinely go either way. I wouldn’t be shocked at all, if we win or lose by 1 goal.

Comment #301Looking forward to seeing Isak at some point in the game. As somebody said, he just looks smooth the way he takes the ball in his stride and then accelerates.. liked the way he just drifted into position for his goal.

Comment #306Today will be tough but we are the better side and hopefully we grind out a win. The fact that they played mid-week and also Anderson and McArthur are missing for them (which is big for us) will hopefully swing it our way.
