Negotiations Continue On Two Fronts As Interest In A Couple Serie A Midfielders Surfaces

Newcastle are reportedly in dual negotiations for two top targets at the moment. The current priority is to reach an agreement with Everton for Anthony Gordon. The 21-year-old is said to desire a move to St. James’ Park and has missed training for a second straight day.

The hunt for teenage prodigy Matheus Franca is also continuing. Newcastle have had a couple of bids knocked back but have not left the negotiating table according to journalist Venê Casagrande, whose claims have been cited by Sport Witness.

Casagrande is reporting Newcastle have made a third offer totaling £14m. This is similar to previous offers though the add-ons have now been included in the initial fee. Flamengo are still not moved by the offer as they continue to demand £18m and a significant sell-on clause.

There are also reports emerging that Newcastle are after two Serie A midfielders. Weston McKennie has reportedly been offered to Premier League clubs with Newcastle said to be intrigued. There are also unsubstantiated reports from Italy that Newcastle had a loan bid for Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo rejected.

Both players have been linked in the past with McKennie a reported target when he was with Schalke before landing in Turin. Zaniolo has been a long-term target with interest resurfacing in recent weeks.

Newcastle’s pursuit of the midfielders may not be as substantial as with Gordon and Franca. McKennie is being sought by Leeds and fellow American Jesse Marsch, with reports personal terms have been reached. Zaniolo is a target of Antonio Conte and Spurs, among others.

Anytime I’ve seen Gordon he’s been unreal, do people forget about that time he literally ripped us apart singlehandedly, he’s also insanely fast which in the modern game is everything.

His form atm has NOTHING to do with his talent, just like the same could have been said 3 months ago about Rashford, look at him now!!

Chelsea were Willing to spend £60M on him, that’s SIXTY FRIGGIN MILLION. The guy is going to be a star.

I just don’t want him personally because I hate his guts, but let’s face it within a month we will all probably be saying how wrong we were about his character and how much we love his fighting spirit. We do the EXACT same for Joelinton.

It really feels odd how many people on here and on Twitter feel this is a massive mistake. Trust me it’s 100% not a mistake, Howe and Ashworth don’t make mistakes especially when they are deals of this magnitude.

Don’t be surprised if we don’t get him though because Everton might demand too much, but if we do, then be very very excited.

Right now I still hate his guts though and everything about him makes me(a ridiculously un-violent person) want to slap his stupid face silly.

    🙂

    Missed the bus again
Well done to the boys in black n white last night, it was a tad frustrating watching us waste so many chances, AGAIN , but we got there in the end.
Saints will have to come out next week so i would play Miggy, Isak and St Max along the front line to really take advantage of the gaps that are bound to appear as they go searching for a goal, i think Wilson should be benched until he can sort out his rumoured illness, he simply is not fit enough, you can see it in his play.
My MOTM goes to Miggy, those Duracel batteries never seem to run out.

IR there is a history of players who people hated their guts and were excellent.

Roy Keane being the obvious one. but the Manc’s loved him. As you say IF he does come be about a month and i am sure all will be forgotten from our end.

    Damn bus.

Some will remember some maybe not, last nights game reminded me of some games played back in the day when it was the Milk Cup, good old fashioned game.

The near misses, the battles and full on tackles, the omg moment we take the lead.

Eddie done wonders with Big Joe, I did love him playing in the middle, I’m hopeful Maxi finally has figured out what Eddie needed him to do, looked quality when he came on.
Isak, I’m going with what I’ve always called him, Silky.
Now this Gordon saga, if Eddie wants him I’m backing the Gaffa, he was quality for them last season so I’m sure he hasn’t lost everything and Eddie will do his, by the power of EddieSkull and get Gordon playing better than he ever has.

    Irishrob,

Couldn`t agree more re Gordon, he could be a sensation for the Toon.
I was one of the few who posted positively about him a few days ago, now it seems more are warming to him.

The only question I have is where does he fit in because even though he can play other areas he is predominantly a LW or a left sided forward.

Hes too good to just be cover so where does Maxi fit in, and even more importantly where does Diaby fit in come the summer.

This deal kinda feels like Diaby is dead I think. Which would really hurt.

IF Gordon does become a NUFC player he will gain my immediate 100% support until he does something truly awful.

Gordon is exactly 6ft and an athlete…sound like any club in particular who he would fit the current mould? 🙂

on a serious note when we played them last year i can only think of him from Everton that was genuinely trying his hardest and desperate to win.

WL he also tracks back and defends like an absolute lunatic, the guy is going to suit us like people can’t even imagine.

I worry where it leaves Maxi though I really do. Not this window but it makes me wonder, because both are too good to sit on the bench.

IR that’s called depth of squad. something we have all been crying out for. At the minute we really have a 13 man squad of first team players. he would take it to 14. We need to be at the 18 mark really so plenty of room for more.

Not looking forward to this transfer going through one little bit no matter how well he plays. An obnoxious individual who will take a long time for me to change my mind about him. Sorry fellas.
