Newcastle have confirmed Dylan Stephenson’s loan move to Hamilton for the remainder of the campaign. The 20-year-old links up with Lucas De Bolle, who has been on loan at Hamilton since the start of September.
Here is the official statement on Dylan’s loan move:
Newcastle United forward Dylan Stephenson has joined Scottish Championship side Hamilton Academical on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has linked up with John Rankin’s men for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign in what will be his first temporary move away from St. James’ Park.
The young forward has been a regular for the Magpies’ under-21 side this term, netting five goals in 18 outings across all competitions.
He has also enjoyed some cameos at first team level, making his senior debut in Eddie Howe’s side’s 1-0 win over Atalanta in pre-season.
Blyth-born Stephenson also featured for United in December’s training camp in Riyadh, finding the net as Howe’s charges beat Al-Hilal 5-0 in the Diriyah Season Cup.
Fellow Magpie Lucas De Bolle is also currently on loan at the ZLX Stadium, and has made seven appearances for the Accies since his summer arrival.
Stephenson could make his debut when Hamilton travel to Partick Thistle on Saturday afternoon.
Stephenson has been in increasing promise for Newcastle’s youth sides over the past few years. He is contracted until 2024 and this is his first outing on loan. We wish him the best of luck.
In other loan news, Kell Watts has picked up another serious injury. The 23-year-old suffered a torn hamstring earlier this month during an intra-squad friendly.
The injury will keep him out for months threatening his availability for the rest of the campaign.

Comment #4Pug – you can’t use metrics to say Man Utd are bad at things when we’re even worse! Man Utd won a trophy 6 or 7 years ago? It’s 54 years for us! Howe has won zero trophies I guess? Ten Hah has won quite a few. There are at least 2 players who have won trophies at Man Utd, obviously we have zero.
Whatever metric you use, Man Utd have more experience in this area.

Comment #8Pug – de Gea won the league with Man Utd and at least 3 cups. Rashford has 3 cups. So that’s at least 2 players with experience of winning a trophy with their current team.

Comment #14Pug – I asked a question. Honestly, this is a daft comparison. It’s obvious to anyone that Man Utd have more experience with their players and their staff in winning trophies. If you don’t see that, then I really can’t help you.
Have a look online and see how many trophies Ten Hag, his coaches, and the players have won.

Comment #36Man Utd have more experience at winning, we have more hunger. Usually the team with experience also has far better players which explains why they’re more likely to win, but due to our meteoric rise that isn’t quite the case in this instance.
