Two Magpies are up for Premier League monthly honors for January. Dan Burn has been nominated as the Player of the Month. Nick Pope’s save on Jean-Philippe Mateta’s blast at Selhurst Park is in contention for Save of the Month.
You can vote for Dan Burn here. The big Geordie is up against Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson, Man City’s Riyadh Mahrez, Brighton’s Solly March, Man United’s Marcus Rashford, Brentford’s David Raya, and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.
Burn started all three EPL matches during January, all of which were clean sheets. The emergence of Sven Botman pushed Dan out to left-back earlier in the season. The 30-year-old has been a major factor in Newcastle having the league’s best defense.
Nick Pope’s nomination is no surprise. You can vote for him here. The goalkeeper’s save at Selhurst Park kept Newcastle’s league unbeaten run intact and his clean sheet run going. Pope is currently on a streak of 10 games without conceding.
The 30-year-old has also captured our Poll as the Man of the Match for Tuesday’s win at St Mary’s. Nick made a couple of crucial saves to give the Magpies the slim advantage heading into next Tuesday’s second leg at St. James’ Park.
Pope has collected over 40% of the vote to take his second straight Man of the Match poll. He also won for the scoreless draw at Crystal Palace. Bruno Guimaraes edges out Jolinton for second after his complete performance against The Saints.

Comment #2Chicken licken, that was a GREAT fried chicken dot in Wolverhampton, omfg their roast potatoes done the same oil they fried their chicken in were literally to die for.
A two piece meal or snack box usually csme with one roast potato on the side I wouldn’t leave the shop until they put at least 3-4 in mine.

Comment #5Adam when we faced Manure they weren’t anywhere near as good as they are now, they are getting better and better week in week out. There is also going to cone a time where we just concede a few goals, it statistically has to happen.
It’s so dangerous to go into matches just presuming we can’t lose because we won’t concede.
My opinion is I think we will lose if we get there, do I want that to happen? No I absolutely don’t, I shouldn’t even have to type this. But that doesn’t mean I have to lie to myself and pretend like I think were going to win if its not what I think will happen, that to me is just being moronic and fake.

I’m not sure what your point is about players not winning medals at Man U, it doesn’t matter where they’ve won them, they’re more used to the pressure that comes with the final strait. Multiple CL winners and World Cup winners will be more able to handle the occasion, it’s a simple fact of life. Man U have the advantage just as Chelsea did against Leicester a few seasons ago in the FA cup. We’ve got nothing to fear but the medals in their team makes them slight favourites imo.

Aye no point in attempting to fool yourself and convince yourself of something when you don’t truly feel it haha We just feel very differently about it which is alright!
I’m confident and think we’ll win if we get there (which i’m also confident we will). I don’t fear Manure at all, they’re getting better but for reason in my other post I don’t think their qualities will be able to shine against us. The way we play won’t allow them the same advantages they’re being given by other teams to play their game how they want.
We’ll have to wait and see how it goes, i’m sure it’ll be a very entertaining final if we meet them there anyway š

Comment #11Joelinton fined £29K and banned from driving for 12 months.
He must have been properly over the limit.
It’s all behind him now inwards and upwards.
Bruno is about to be very frustrated having to collect him and drop him home every single day lol

I’m also not going into it with no confidence either tbh, I definitely definitely think we’re good enough to do a number on them and win. I just don’t feel like that’s what’s going to happen.
Like I’m proper excited for it(if we make it)

He had 43ug of alcohol in his breath at the station or sommat.
The fine is calculated to be about half his weekly wage.

Comment #18Sounds like the cops had it in for big Joe if you ask me. Not Sure what it equates to BACwise but 53grams/100ml breath doesnt seem high at all when the limit is 45g and given how strict the numbers are now.

Comment #22Limit here is 35mcg/100ml of breath.
Joe was 43mcg. Not massive but still over. Judge clearly made an example of him. Fair enough, in public eye and all that, sends a message.

Think they said that the reason was the police car was parked on a street and they suspected his car was slightly speeding so pulled it over. God knows if that’s the genuine reason or not though, just have to take their word for it I suppose.

Comment #25It doesn’t sound like it is, as all the noise and Gordon missing training etc points to genuine interest and talks with us. But would be interesting if this Gordon news is a distraction whilst we quietly sign someone else.
Like what happened with Isak in a way. All the talk was about Pedro and talks with him and Watford and bids going in etc. Then suddenly Isak came barging through the door.

Comment #26Joe was over the limit.
Under graduated fine scheme he was fined based on his income. More you make, the fine scales with your income.
He can’t drive for a year.
Isn’t this a pretty normal penalty for impaired driving? Not really an example. Joe is treated fairly and justly.

Comment #28Jail, my point was…. in the current Man U team, who has won anything playing for Man U. You expanded it to current Man U players who won something somewhere else. So I did it for NUFC.

Comment #29I think if we do both get to the final we will beat manure.
I think our starting 11 is stronger we have a better defense and Isak will be the difference for us.
Manures danger man is Rashford and as we proved v Arsenal with Saka we are more than capable of handling him .
It will be a tough match like they all are but I make us slight favorites.

Comment #31On drink driving, non of the penalties are mandatory. What you get depends on the Judge/magistrate.
The possible penalties are : up to 6 x months jail, unlimited fine, 1 x year ban. But the decision is with the court.

Comment #33Pug – de Gea won the PL and multiple cups at Man Utd. Rashford won 3 cups also at Man Utd. Thatās as far as I went. Ten Hag also has experience of winning trophies as a manager.
These are advantages for Man Utd. Anyone saying theyāre massive advantages Iād exaggerating things and anyone saying theyāre insignificant is being dismissive. That experience to draw upon is significant. Anyone who has played sport to a decent level knows that personally.

Comment #37Donāt know why anyone is upset with Joelintonās punishment. The line has to be drawn somewhere and he crossed it. It will be no more than an inconvenience for him, unlike someone on minimum wage or who needs to drive for their job.
Iām sure heāll take the punishment, learn from it, and move on with his life.
I donāt risk being over the limit because I donāt think Iād ever forgive myself if I hit someone and would have to wonder if Iād have avoided the incident if I hadnāt had that drink.
