Howe Makes Three Changes In Our Predicted Team For Wolves

Eddie Howe will be forced into at least one change for Sunday’s clash against Wolves at St. James’ Park with the integral Joelinton facing a two-match ban. There could be other changes on the horizon after Howe made three in last weekend’s defeat at Manchester City.

Fabian Schar is back in contention after being sidelined through the concussion protocol. He faces a fight to return with captain Jamaal Lascelles’s solid showing against the defending champions.

I suspect Schar will keep his place though would not be completely surprised to see Jamaal take the armband tomorrow. However, I do see one other potential change at the back with Matt Targett making his return for Dan Burn at left-back.

All that being said, this is the team I suspect Howe will name. It has three changes from the Citizens with Schar returning, Joe Willock in for Joelinton, and Targett getting a chance on the left.

During his press conference on Friday, Howe stated Alexander Isak was not ready for a full 90 minutes. While that doesn’t rule out a start, he may continue as an impact sub until he is fully fit.

That may also be the role for Allan Saint-Maximin despite impressing in a run of starts. Anthony Gordon made his full debut last weekend and now he may get his first start in front of the home faithful.

There are plenty of options with only Emil Krafth and Harrison Ashby out injured that we know of. Howe can chop and change to try and get the performance needed to spur the Magpies back to victory.

As for losing talents like Richards, we’ve only just had our outdated training facilities spruced up, we had 14 years of contemptuous neglect, the owners have been here just 18 months. You can’t even imagine the work they have had to do behind the scenes trying to put things right. A great deal of patience is required by everyone.

    Birthday winner for Maxi today!

Let’s get back to winning ways and make a real push for top 4

I think we will win by a couple of goals but I’d take a 1-0 win by an own goal right now just to get 3 points the win and get back on track.

Look at the ticketing system, it is seriously outdated and crashed numerous times last season, it’s easy for me to say they should have sorted it out in the summer as it’s been terrible again this year, ie putting tickets in your basket then ‘event no longer available’ . Then you get someone like simon376 come and and explain it’s not a quick fix because of third party vendors etc, so my point is that it’s easy to point the finger and say why aren’t they doing this or that when none of us know how hard they are working behind the scenes.

Just for clarification, I would like to make a distinction between Gary Linekars right to free speech, or contractual obligation. With the governments policy and legislative agenda on small boats. One is a more rhetorical consideration, whereas, as we have seen on here, the other is far more multifaceted and generally of greater impact.

Might it be that Howe and his crew haven’t seen what they hoped to see in Richards and decided against following up with an offer, hadn’t got around to making one or more than likely that his agent helped the lad make the decision to join Chelsea.

And, where Kuol and packing him off to Scotland so early’s concerned, I agree that such a young lad from a different continent let one from Europe or a different part of Britain should’ve stayed with NUFC for a few months at the least to induct him into the club, its culture and the country. Maybe Shola’s lacking the experience in managing the development of young people, overlooking the fact that Kuol’s just that, a bairn who’s 12 or so thousand miles away from his family.

    Mund,

I did have a chuckle, there’s something like 125M shares outstanding in NUFC, and PIF have paid over £200M so far for four shares

    Outrageous 🙂

    lesh,
It hasn’t just been Shola’s decision, Ashworth is the, in his own words ‘the cog that connects all the spokes’ he too would have been well aware of the move and he knows a thing or two about youth development, sometimes in life things don’t work out and there’s not always blame attached. Maybe he will start seeing more games, time will tell.

Have a look at Waitrose’s March ‘Food’ mag – they’ve put an informative piece on gut health in it and it recommends foods that’ll contribute to well-being.

A big summer to come but we still have plenty to play for so focus on finishing as high as possible with only the league our only obstacle and then go Berkeley’s in the summer and continue the rise

Yes, you’re most likely right about Shola not having the overall responsibility for player development but whoever is, I think they got it wrong placing Kuol so far up the road, so early in his NUFC development. The sooner they get him back, put an arm around him and to help him feel part of the club and its developing culture, the better.

Agree with that Jail, but more frustrating to lose him when we actually had him on site. Patience is indeed required, if difficult. All the more so when we have piles of cash but stymied from splurging by FFP.

Big pressure on today, a win is vital.

I think eddie will stick with Wilson, will be very interesting.

Thankfully Scotland v Ireland to fill in the afternoon.

I’m not a great fan of motd but I think they could do with a shake up and get rid of Lineker. He criticised the Qatar regime but didn’t hesitate to go earn loads of money at the World Cup. So he ain’t got much principle has he?
I’d sign up Jeff Stelling for motd; great presenter with a sense of humour rather than smug in-jokes with Shearer and Wrighty!

Easiest way to get great gut health is to make your own Kefir. I think it’s one of the strongest probiotic foods available. All you need is to buy the live grains, pop them in a container with milk and then sieve the grains back out when it’s ready. Then repeat indefinitely.

From what I’ve been seeing of Kuo;s minutes they seem to be chucking him on for fifteen minutes when the games is lost. That one start I noticed him getting he was lined up in the centre of a 4-5-1 formation and was hooked at HT for being ineffectual, since when did a tricky winger effect a game in such an obviously defensive set up right in the centre of the pitch.

The certainly did. He joins at the end of the season.

I think there might be some cut price deals in and around that squad.

For a good deal I’d go for Ruben Loftus-Cheek as he is very underrated and would add a lot to our midfield

Might shake things up a bit (like Howe should) and make scrambled eggs with chilli flakes and salmon…fresh swedish salmon from Isaks home town to inspire him to rise like a salmon to head in the first!

I think he is better than both but you are right we do have similar players. You can see what Howe wants from his side and from the players. We just need more quality in those roles to be ruthless in games and finish teams off.

I’d love Mount. Him and Pulisic would be amazing.

Unfortunately Pulisic seems to play less games each year due to injury, can’t see how he furthers his career in a top flight league, he’s got a few quid and will probably end up in the MLS.
