Howe Makes Three Changes In Our Predicted Team For Wolves

Eddie Howe will be forced into at least one change for Sunday’s clash against Wolves at St. James’ Park with the integral Joelinton facing a two-match ban. There could be other changes on the horizon after Howe made three in last weekend’s defeat at Manchester City.

Fabian Schar is back in contention after being sidelined through the concussion protocol. He faces a fight to return with captain Jamaal Lascelles’s solid showing against the defending champions.

I suspect Schar will keep his place though would not be completely surprised to see Jamaal take the armband tomorrow. However, I do see one other potential change at the back with Matt Targett making his return for Dan Burn at left-back.

All that being said, this is the team I suspect Howe will name. It has three changes from the Citizens with Schar returning, Joe Willock in for Joelinton, and Targett getting a chance on the left.

During his press conference on Friday, Howe stated Alexander Isak was not ready for a full 90 minutes. While that doesn’t rule out a start, he may continue as an impact sub until he is fully fit.

That may also be the role for Allan Saint-Maximin despite impressing in a run of starts. Anthony Gordon made his full debut last weekend and now he may get his first start in front of the home faithful.

There are plenty of options with only Emil Krafth and Harrison Ashby out injured that we know of. Howe can chop and change to try and get the performance needed to spur the Magpies back to victory.

Chelsea are for more likely to try and sell players that are detriment to their accounts than youth players that cost them nothing.

Sign Pulisic and you’ll have most of america supporting the toon…thats powerful stuff right there…especially from an income and global brand perspective.

He wouldnt cost us a penny in real terms and he’s a damn good player taboot!

    I’d have him!

Im never bothered to listen to pundits pre and post game but i like the craic between lineker shearer and wright. The show also does a good analysis on individual players or patterns of defending etc which are not always easy to pick out in the 5 mins of highlights.

Hard to say, he lost to Willock and Longstaff in almost every department though. Just on par in defensive area. Even entire career they are about the same level, although he played with better players and Willock have a wonder season. All in per 90mins.

Shearers always been a bit of a knob but he’s also become a right smug twat (perhaps spending too much time with Lineker) and he’s sold his soul to the BBC dollar and taken electrocution lessons and deep voice lessons…he’s just chasing the coin and will say / do anything to keep the cash rolling in.

    Great footballer though! 🙂 🙂

That’s what I mean by being underrated as I don’t think he has shown his true potential yet. I do think we will be going for bigger and better anyways

Getting old to remember if I posted this? I rather get a 75mil winger and 75mil playmaker and loan the rest, than get 5 30mil players. Think defensive area is the least piority, not sure with some keep asking for a DM? I would even get 2 playmaker in for cover.

Ty, big question is whether eddie goes fod a DM to free Bruno higher up the pitch,or go for someone like Maddison. Or both! Also whether we go for a more physically powerful striker than Isak. And whether we stick with our left back situation as it is. So many questions .

Bruno is signed for this current role, Newcastle’s Kante. A playmaker to add more creativity with him. Joelinton, for some reason is playing deeper and deeper. Even on paper, Willock is left mid and Joelinton is left wing but heatmaps show Willock often shows up more at LW than Joelinton.

Targett 100% not fit for the entire season even though he is on the bench. I remember some match Ritchie and even Trippier was playing leftback with Manquillo or Murphy subbed in? So Targett’s future might not as gloom as it look.

Again, looks like Howe is protecting his Injured players or something. Isak have looked good for the minutes he played. I remember the cup match he started, I kinda saw him limping gingerly after he chased down a through ball right before halftime. Newcastle mostly will get a young striker for backup.

Wudnt it be just wonderful to see a goodcwin and the type of vim and vigour we saw early season, today? An early goal maybe for Isak. Willock getting up and down the pitch, bit of class from Bruno. We’re probably not far off a decent performance. If we see Wilson and same wingers and a poor performance though, there will be a lot of noise on here and amongst fans generally.

Just when you think right left is bad enough, the bigger one, nationalism, awakens!

    Anyway, Sutton on the game:

“Newcastle need to get back on track after five games without a win in all competitions, but they have not scored for 315 minutes now and that lack of bite is their biggest problem.

They created some chances against Manchester City last week, but they really need someone to start putting them away if they are going to stay in the hunt for a top-four place.

I don’t think Eddie Howe’s side are feeling sorry for themselves, because they are still playing well up until the final third. Their fans are proud of their efforts this season and will really get behind them here too, which will help.

Wolves got a great win over Tottenham last week but they are not out of trouble yet. They will make life difficult for Newcastle but I am still going for a home win – albeit a very narrow one.

    Sutton’s prediction: 1-0”.

    I’ve predicted 7-0, but I’ll take Sutton’s guess too.

He did ok with yesterday’s results. He certainly missed out on the Liverpool result but then again who didn’t.

Happy to voice my opinion. Of course would love 5 upgrades, but looking at past dealings. I would say even if Newcastle qualify for CL, there would be 3 big signing at most.

I’m going 2:0 to the toon this afternoon. For me we must win this game to kick start our season. It’s absolutely critical we kick on from a victory today then onto the city ground where 3 points can be easily accomplished.

Then Karma served to manure at the cathedral on the hill. 9 points from our next 3 games would really put the cat amongst the pigeons. Then back fighting for a top 4 spot.

I think everybody did well yesterday, debating a heated topic without veering into personal abuse. I was expecting world war three, but most people as far as I saw accepted that others have a different view even if they don’t like it. I think both sides have a point. I’ve read dozens of books on A.dolph including all his speeches and even in the 30s he was far worse than what the Tories are saying. But as that holocasut survivor said to Suella last week there are similarities in the language, framing it as an ‘invasion’ or ‘swarm’ etc to rile people up in the hope they’ll forget about the state of the economy.

One thing I have to point out though is the Final Solution in the 30s was called the Madagascar Plan. They intended to send them to Africa which has similarities to this Rwanda Plan. Once war started it wasn’t feasible, and they ditched this plan in about 1941 which is when we assume they came up with the horrendous plan B.

Also the Daily Mail called the 600,000 Jews trying to flee to Britain an ‘invasion’ and we refused 90% of them, allowing them to perish.

I think the BBC need to hold their position now and show that nobody is indispensable…..
Lineker has the right to his views but not in a holier than thou ,, I’m untouchable manner..
Illegal immigration is exactly that ….” illegal”…. Genuine asylum seekers are being tarred with the same brush as the boatloads of opportunists coming here for the free ride…
If Lineker is so concerned , then he and others who feel the same should maybe offer these immigrants a room in their house to help with the over crowding.
