Eddie Howe will be forced into at least one change for Sunday’s clash against Wolves at St. James’ Park with the integral Joelinton facing a two-match ban. There could be other changes on the horizon after Howe made three in last weekend’s defeat at Manchester City.
Fabian Schar is back in contention after being sidelined through the concussion protocol. He faces a fight to return with captain Jamaal Lascelles’s solid showing against the defending champions.
I suspect Schar will keep his place though would not be completely surprised to see Jamaal take the armband tomorrow. However, I do see one other potential change at the back with Matt Targett making his return for Dan Burn at left-back.
All that being said, this is the team I suspect Howe will name. It has three changes from the Citizens with Schar returning, Joe Willock in for Joelinton, and Targett getting a chance on the left.
During his press conference on Friday, Howe stated Alexander Isak was not ready for a full 90 minutes. While that doesn’t rule out a start, he may continue as an impact sub until he is fully fit.
That may also be the role for Allan Saint-Maximin despite impressing in a run of starts. Anthony Gordon made his full debut last weekend and now he may get his first start in front of the home faithful.
There are plenty of options with only Emil Krafth and Harrison Ashby out injured that we know of. Howe can chop and change to try and get the performance needed to spur the Magpies back to victory.

Comment #252Results have pretty much gone in our favour today bar Spurs but I don’t think we expected much more than that from Forest on the road. So glad the relegation days are over, it’s absolutely brutal at the bottom of the table, all of them from bottom to Palace in 12th could go down, none of them can breathe easy from now until May.

Comment #254Wow! I’ve only been away a week, and the sky has fallen in.
Well done all the sports journalist backing freedom of speech.
I never thought I would live to see the BBC take away the one thing it has been renowned for throughout the world, it’s a bad day for this country when we are being told what to think and what to say. By a horrendous biased controlled media.
Our freedom of speech should sacred.
I maybe vote left, but I believe in democracy first and foremost
I like Bob’s post re getting this imm agration under control.
As for the football watched the ManC match on the plane, going to try and find if the match is on anywhere tomorrow.

Comment #255I`m not a big fan of Gary Lineker to be honest, but the last i checked we are supposed to be living in a democracy where free speech is aloud!!! Just ask yourself who manufactured all this outrage against Lineker and pressurised the BBC to take action, the truth is out there if you really want to find it, the perfect distraction policy while the rest of country are struggling and on it`s knees to buy food and heat their homes. Does it always have to be divide and conquer to rule the roost.

Comment #258Magic well said. I wonder what most on here would feel if their freedom of speech was censored.
They would be better off tackling their gov. To stop the boats coming over they’ve had fourteen years to do it, the reason the got into power on the back of it.
They’ve got more food in the Tesco’s in this third world country than my Tesco’s in North Shields.

Comment #259The bottom line is Lineker is a hypocrite. He waffled on about our TO being wrong on every level for so long, more out of clear and obvious jealousy. However when it came to Qatar not a peep out his mouth why?. That’s hugely hypocritical and doesn’t show a fair balanced opinion does it?
If his beloved Leicester were taken over by the PIF he’d probably turn a Qatar blind eye 100%. What came out of Linekers mouth levelled towards our government was totally wrong and disrespectful towards the whole Jewish community. Now he is acting the wounded soldier and now is some sort of WOKE martyr. Gary Lineker is a fraud IMO and all this free speech milarky doesn’t wash with me and is a smoke screen to why he was suspended in the first place. It’s the words he chose to utilise that was wrong and why he must be banned from our screens. Not what message he was trying to get over, more the controversial words he chose. He gets zero sympathy from me.

I thought we played ok last match but as usual couldn’t get that ball in the net.
We need someone to try from outside the box, as we’re trying to walk it in.

Never make any apology about who you vote for Carltoon, most intelligent people are very aware of what`s going on and who were the big instigators in trying to remove Lineker, while his choice of words could have been better, he was basically getting to the truth and hitting a few raw nerves, and your 100% correct Carltoon as free speech should never ever be suppressed in any true democracy whether we agree with the message or not!!! I’m all on for freedom of speech and for Lineker to be allowed on his own platform to say what he wants.
I’m not on for a hypocrite multi millionaire to be mouthing about illegal immigrants who from what we have seen are 90%men of fighting age to be allowed into a country where the taxpayers have to fit the bill.
I’m not on for an idiot to lecture me on the climate while driving around in a vehicle that has the same fuel consumption as an artic truck which is used for moving goods all over the place.
That’s what Lineker is a hypocrite.

Comment #269“Never make any apology about who you vote for”
As you all know, as I’ve stated my disinterest in politics many times, they’re not my thing. I did not want a debate about politics at all when I asked the question this morning, just genuinely interested in why voting Labour is used as an insult on here by a handful of posters. That’s not me being hypocritical as it’s not putting over a political view and I’ve no wish to debate why, it doesn’t seem like people are comfortable explaining why they use it as an insult though.
