Isak, Murphy, And Saint-Maximin Start Against Wolves

This is the team Eddie Howe has named for this afternoon’s match against Wolves. It has five changes from last weekend’s defeat at Manchester City with an altered front three.

Howe has made some drastic changes with Alexander Isak in for Wilson and Saint-Maximin returning to the starting eleven. The Frenchman is in for Anthony Gordon who unfortunately isn’t in the squad.

It appears Howe’s praise of Jacob Murphy wasn’t lip service as he comes in for Miguel Almiron on the right. It’s Murphy’s first league start since the win at Southampton in early April.

Here is who Julen Lopetegui has selected for Wolves.

Newcastle have a chance to climb to 5th in the table while adding to the cushion to Fulham and Brighton in the battle for a top-six finish. Howe has made the changes at the top of the pitch to hopefully spark the attack back to life.

Traore and Maxi both playing. That should be an interesting contest.

Really wanted to see Targett start at LWB. Hopefully he gets on and gets some minutes under his belt as I really feel we’ve missed the lad of late.

    On Jail…

We had big issues in the past but I met up with him for a pint a few weeks ago.

    Verdict?

He’s a good guy who got the round in despite a massive queue in Shearers. I found him passionate about all things NUFC and an open book.

Just goes to show that you can’t judge someone by their posts, it’s so easy to take an opinion the wrong way and before you know it you are waging war with a person who is nowt like what you imagine them to be.

Knocking Jail has become a bit of a default position on the blog and the reality is he’s just a decent guy with strong opinions.

Isak needs to grab this chance, if he’s fully fit i expect him to be a lot more mobile than Wilson has been. Draw is no good to us we need to be on it from the start and get back into the groove, I’m going 3-0 HWTL

Jail – I wouldn’t be surprised to see Willock on the score sheet today. Those chances that drop to Joelinton will potentially now fall to Willock — he’s certainly capable of finishing them.

Good to see Wilson and Almiron rested and Isak finally starting. Big chance for ASM and Murphy to shine.

Really struggling to understand why Targett isn’t starting though. Burn against Adama isn’t very encouraging.

Let’s get the points lads come on!

    HWTL!

Understandable changes made by Howe given how the front 3 combo haven’t been producing returns and Jo being suspended. Interested in seeing the ASM/Isak combination in particular as they seem to have a good partnership in the games I’ve seen them in.

We’re good enough to win this one by a few goals. Fingers crossed!

    he shouldnt be a liar.

he just did it again on the last thread. he said I wasnt happy when someone put my personal stuff on here.

He knows that the stuff the kid put on here was the same stuff i had put on here in the past, the thing i wasnt happy with, was he put them on for people to send abuse.
I have put my email on here to speak with a few Ibiza.

He should be called out for lying

Really want to see some big moments from ASM and Isak

Murphy will follow the instructions needed but it’s the other 2 where they are expected to do stuff

When a cross comes in ASM get in there tap it in that’s what the best players do same with Willock get in the box

Ruddy im not sure if ashworth was here from some of those youngsters, eg Murphy? If we secure Dujuan, we praise him, but if we lose the last 3 youngsters, and we did, then its nothing to do with him? Nice job at that rate.

    Well…

Eddie has changed it big style and Isak has a real chance to show what he can do. He’s clearly got a bit of a relationship going with Maxi and in Murphy he’s also got a winger who will whip crosses in.

Those saying Isak isn’t a CF must be ignoring those two goals against Lpool. Both were stunning finishes that had a £63M CF written all over them. You can tell by Isak’s body language that he has massive confidence in his ability and I think he offers Bruno great options for a killer pass.

I’m going to stick with my prediction of 4-0 with Isak 2, Bruno and Botman on the scoresheet.
