Newcastle Against Wolves – Team Prediction, Injuries, And Fan Expectations

Newcastle have a chance to leap Liverpool in the league table with a win against Wolves. The Magpies sit sixth just one point behind the Reds who tumbled 1-0 at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Eddie Howe remains confident Newcastle can end their mini-skid. Victories have been in short supply in 2023 but this match at St. James’ Park represents an excellent chance to get back to winning ways.

This is the team I am predicting Howe will name for the late afternoon clash. It has three changes from the Manchester City defeat with Joe Willock in for the suspended Joelinton, Matt Targett in for Dan Burn, and Fabian Schar back in for Jamaal Lascelles.

The squad currently is in good shape fitness-wise. Only Emil Krafth and Harrison Ashby have been ruled out through injury. Wolves have a few more injury concerns though will still be able to field a formidable eleven.

Newcastle Injuries

Emil Krafth (knee), Harrison Ashby (hamstring), Joelinton (suspended)

Wolves Injuries

Sasa Kalajdzic (knee), (knee), Hugo Bueno (hamstring), Diego Costa (knee), Chiquinho (knee), Hee-Chan Hwang (hamstring – fitness test), Boubacar Traore (groin – fitness test)

The poll for this one shows fans are confident that today will be the day the string of poor results snaps. Over 70% are predicting a win; a result that would put Newcastle back into the Champions League discussion.

If you’re talking weather girls look no further than Yanet Garcia.
I’m sure she could be a good football pundit

Do you not think it was incredibly crass and insensitive to compare the refugees to Nazi Germany. What does Lineker presume to know about it.

For those saying we missed out on Dujuan Richards, how do you know we wanted to progress and offer him a contract? We may not have and so didn’t miss out on him. Like we didn’t miss out on Paqueta but lots were adamant we did.
Even if we did miss out on any, so what. We are competing now in a much smaller pool of players and of course we will miss out on some going against the likes of Madrid, Barca, AC Milan, and some PL big teams.
I am really excited about the infrastructure of the team of scouts they are pulling together. It’s all going to take time but we will get there!

I agree, I am not sure why people are concerned about missing out on anybody. Most kids end up failing to make the grade in the prem. unfortunately. I dont really care if we miss out on a prospect, that’s all they are and statistically they are likely to fail. Brutal of course but that is the way it is.

    Seen this on nufc.com recently:

Proof if it were needed of Newcastle’s global approach to player recruitment comes in the latest batch of five vacancies advertised by the club:

1st Team and Emerging Talent scouts required for:

    Position 1: Argentina, Uruguay
    Position 2: Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador
    Position 3: France
    Position 4: Italy, Switzerland, Croatia
    Position 5: Germany, Holland, Belgium

Can anyone claiming we’ve “missed out” on Dujuan Richards confidently state that we had offered him a contract that he has since turned down in favour of Chelsea? Is it possible that we didn’t fancy him, or the terms he wanted fell outside the scope and parameters of those we’re offering to similar young prospects?

In any case, I certainly wouldn’t be using half-baked opinions on what actually went down regarding this issue to concoct even wilder half baked opinions on the job Dan Ashworth is doing regarding youth recruitment considering he has been tasked with building several departments within the club from scratch in a short space of time.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and while we all want to succeed and see the club kick on quickly, there seems to be some sense of entitlement swirling around. We’ll get there, trust the process as it’s already yielding superb results and long may that continue.

Spot on Magic. We do so well in rugby given competing GAA. Its bonkers but we are currently ranked #1 in the world!

Even in my 20s and 30s we expected to lose to England and France every time. Not any more.

I dont know about anybody else, but , this set of people running nufc now is the first one I have trusted in many many years.

I dont worry about what they are doing because i trust them. they will make mistakes, just like i do every day.

as long as their goals are aligned with ours and they try their best, get the best people for the job etc.

    nothing to complain about!

caveat: i will moan about footballers doing dumb shit like never crossing with your right foot…you know who you are.

    Catchy

I find myself weirdly agreeing with pretty much all you said. I don’t personally have too much of an issue with female commentators though. Some seem very knowledgeable and nowhere as depressing and miserable as smacked a-se face Danny Murphy. Funnily enough when I watch MOTD on Sunday mornings I often fast forward through the pundrity and just watch the game coverage. MOTD without Lineker holds no terrors for me.

    Munster,

I’m just a typical fickle football fan. I get easily frustrated when things don’t go our way and it can sometimes eclipse all the great and wonderful things that have been happening at our cub both on and off the pitch.

I’m just a bit p—ed that this kid Richards came highly recommended, seemingly fulfilled the brief and showcased his talents and we just let the opportunity slip away without allegedly even holding concrete talks with his people.

A month ago I would have been full of hope for today’s match but I’ve genuinely had the stuffing knocked out of me since and seeing the same issues not being addressed game after game now is concerning.

Have to agree there are some seriously stunning weather ladies out there. Can’t expand though as it will upset the woke brigade.

Bit harsh Ruddy. Free world for Richards to join who he likes, but we had him on trial and he is obviously good if Chelsea got him – or he is certainly at a certain level. Appreciate it will take time but we only have Kuol to show so far, and that was pre Dan.

I’m a proud Brexit voter, and it’s ignorant people like yourself, who spout lies why I’m proud.

I have nothing against anyone from any country, but how can you have a European union where there is so much inequality within it?
Unemployment for the under 25s in Spain
    https://www.statista.com/statistics/455191/unemployment-rate-in-spain-by-age-group/#:~:text=In%20fact%2C%20over%2045%20percent,figures%20in%20the%20European%20Union

    ITALY
    https://www.statista.com/statistics/776931/youth-unemployment-rate-in-italy/

I could list more countries, but what’s the point.

The European Union is a trap, it imposes rules and regulations on countries that are already struggling to help themselves.

The first thing Greece has to do with its tax money from the Greek people, is service the debt it goes Germany.

If the EU was fair, the salary would be the same in Poland as it is in Germany France for a bin man, a nurse a doctor a mechanic, but it’s not, it’s all about draining the poorest eu countries of top skills by making some countries more attractive via salary packages.

It’s sad that people like you don’t see that problem but to make it worse you conflate a economic migrant with genuine refugees who need help.

It shows the type of person you are.

And for the record, for me to move to Norway, it’s not just to show up at the border and say take me in, I had to prove who i was, I had to have a job in the country and 16k in the bank to look after myself for a year, if i lost my job, Norway would not look after me or my family unless me and my wife had paid a full years tax. And rightly so.

Therein lies the problem. I think most people associate Corbynistas as ”lefties” while Starmer supporters are allegedly more centric. Labour will never really work because the unions will never become the communist party in their own right as splitting from labour will dilute their power. They in turn will always stop the moderates getting anything done.

Aye perhaps a tad harsh but the overall comment applies to all our transfer dealings – we don’t know the intricate details and conversations that go into such negotiations behind the scenes.

Also, I wouldn’t rush to state that just because Chelsea got him he must be good – they’ve signed some dross in recent years, particularly in their youth set up. Chelsea’s model also differs from ours in that they don’t necessarily care if youth players are ever ready to play PL football, they just want to get them in young and cheap to flog for a profit – this is a model we’ll look to emulate down the line but in the immediate term, I imagine our priority is to sign youngsters who have a clear path to the first team. He may have wanted higher wages than we were willing to countenance, or other clauses etc., that we were unwilling to include.

In summary, there’s much more going on behind the scenes in player negotiations that suggesting that losing one trialist to Chelsea is indicative that Ashworth should be better in his job is a seismic leap you’re making there mate.

All I’ll say on the topic that stretches back to yesterday is, it’s very disappointing seeing people jump to the media stereotyping and profiling of refugees. Unless you have real genuine evidence or stats to back up your claims of how awful and monstrous these people arriving here are, don’t label them as horrific things. These are human beings in much worse circumstances than me and you, show a little decency and humanity. It is also hilarious seeing everyone get so sensitive and lose their cool over what an ex England footballer said on social media. What sensitive souls some people are 🙂

All I’ll say on it and my only post today don’t worry all haha

Feeling confident of a good morale boosting win today, hope to see 1 or 2 changes but I’m confident whatever starting 11 we go with will get the results.

Since when was Syria in the EU? Wasn’t the argument for brexit?

But again your ignorance is astonishing, we shouldnt let Syrian doctors, we should not be stealing poorer countries top resources, how will Syria become a better country if we steal all their best people?

Here is a novel idea, how about we train our own, we have 65 million people in the country, we don’t have a shortage of anything, all we have is poor management and short sighted politicians who want quick fixes.

Also Munster, we’ve signed Alex Murphy from Galway United, Charlie McArthur from Kilmarnock, Jude Smith, Jordon Hackett from Spurs not to mention highly touted Harrison Ashby from West Ham. Also Kuol wasn’t pre-Dan, he was signed permanently in September 2022. If you’re going to construct this narrative that Ashworth isn’t “pulling up any trees” that’s your right, but you’d might want to consider not cherry picking or misrepresenting the facts when doing so.
