Newcastle are in the market for a new left-back this summer. The club have set the bar high with interest in Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney and Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco, two marauding left-backs who can add some more excitement to the left flank.

Either would cost significant funds as they are both on contracts that run until 2026. Newcastle may have a backup plan with 90min reporting of an interest in Bournemouth’s Jordan Zemura, who is out of contract this summer.

Zemura seems destined to leave Bournemouth as negotiations on a new deal have been anything but smooth. The Cherries triggered a yearlong extension last season to keep him around for their return to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old has impressed in his first season in the Premier League. While he doesn’t have the attacking prowess of Tierney or Dimarco, he has held his own and will only improve as he gains experience.

Bournemouth boss Gary O’Neil dropped the left-back for their 1-0 win over Liverpool last weekend. It appears that his contract situation facilitated the decision. He still has 22 appearances this term.

Zemura was brought to the Vitality Stadium by Howe in the summer of 2019 as a free agent from Charlton. The report suggests that West Ham are the Zimbabwe international’s main suitors. Newcastle’s interest appears to be peripheral at the moment as their top targets remain in play.

The disparity is not shocking as the article suggests.
The men’s game generates more income therefore more prize money.
This is an example of entitlement that is rife in the women’s game.
Why don’t the winners of the FA trophy get the same as the FA cup winners?

Magic – might have already missed you but I’ve got my hotel sorted in Newcastle for Friday to Monday covering the Saints game. Likely I’d come up with the missus and we’d explore Newcastle and the surrounding area a bit. But I’d probably be free for a few drinks on Saturday evening and obviously free to meet up for a beer or two before the game and whatever comes afterwards too.
All hinging on me getting a ticket but I’m doing what I can.

Zemura does look a good prospect looks a good attacking fullback but is he the level we need or can we get better?
Also what happened to that young left back who played in pre season? He looked good but has never had a sniff

I finally caught up and missed the bus..
I have hunch and hope some of our near misses will start going in again. Ok think the lads have the cup behind them, more days between games right now, the link up play is back on the uptick and Forest are not playing well. They have a fee injuries especially in the front and after watching Shelvey in a lot of the last game it seems not much has changed. Seemed a bit slow and his attempts at “special” passes were numerous and most never found thier intended target. I think with Gordan and Big Joe still out we will see the same lineup with maybe Miggy back in as I think he just needed the break. Either way hoping to see ay least 2-3 goals fall in the first half and get a solid win and go into the break on a real high note.

Magic – probably not mate. It’s a long way to go and a lot of money to spend to be there and not get to watch the football match. I’m definitely relying on someone helping me get a ticket.

Magic – it’s a bank holiday in the UK on Monday so I’ll be staying Sunday night too so I can have a few drinks after the game. Will be up for a few drinks on Friday or Saturday evening with you though but probably not dinner if I’m with the missus. Would probably go out for dinner with her and then join you later. She’s not much of a drinker so doesn’t really go out to bars often.

Took an hour to get onto the ticket site today (10,000 in the queue) to see if as a ST holder I could get another ticket for one of our lads back home for the ManU game.
Site is a walking disaster, no dropdown menu, poor allocation process, selected items not put in basket (even though at right price etc).
Then see that ST allocation is sold our but club members can apply tomorrow which suggests each release is on a limited allocation basis ?
Clube needs to get this sorted, it’s very amateurish.

No, today it was ST holders and members, next week is public sale where they keep a handful of tickets to satisfy PL rules. I got 11K number today and they were all gone.

I have an update on what's happening with my treatment for prostate cancer.

Last week, my oncologist called me late in the day and said he thought it was best to terminate my treatment with radium 223 dichloride because it was having such a negative effect on my health - specifically my digestive system.

I had completed 3 of the planned 6 infusions.

They had looked at the bone scans and three CAT scans I had early last week, and they showed no signs of the cancer spread being slowed or stopped: in fact, it was continuing to spread and my PSA account continued to rise.

The only treatment left now is to go back and have another bout of chemotherapy with docetaxel being the medication used.

I understand this will be a 7-month job with 10 sessions 3 weeks apart - almost double my first chemo treatment in Apil 2017, when I has 6 treatmnts.

The problem I have is that I'm in a very poor physical state right now, due to my digestive system being basically torn apart by the radium 223.

The radium 223 has leaked into my digestive system and caused me to have severe diarrhea, nausea, and heartburn, and it was (is) very serious.

They said it was too dangerous to proceed with the radium 223 treatment, with little benefit being shown.

I am also suffering from severe exhaustion, basically, because I have zero testosterone, and all the treatments I've had for the cancer, have further lessened the energy available to me.

It reminds me of the saying that if cancer doesn’t kill you - the treatment will (laugh).

It will probably take up to 8 weeks to get back to a physical state where I can start chemotherapy, and that's where I am now, but the cancer continues to spread in the bones.

I've also been put in touch with the dietitian from UNC Healthcare, who will help me get back my health - she is very helpful.

So that's where it stands it's been quite a journey over 12 years and I think I've had almost every treatment available.

It has really taken a toll on my body and on my energy, but that's where it stands and obviously, I'll do the best I can in the upcoming months with chemo and hope I can get through it.

It is as it is - and another challenge in life.
