Newcastle Keeping Tabs On Left-Back In Contract Stalemate

Newcastle are in the market for a new left-back this summer. The club have set the bar high with interest in Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney and Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco, two marauding left-backs who can add some more excitement to the left flank.

Either would cost significant funds as they are both on contracts that run until 2026. Newcastle may have a backup plan with 90min reporting of an interest in Bournemouth’s Jordan Zemura, who is out of contract this summer.

Zemura seems destined to leave Bournemouth as negotiations on a new deal have been anything but smooth. The Cherries triggered a yearlong extension last season to keep him around for their return to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old has impressed in his first season in the Premier League. While he doesn’t have the attacking prowess of Tierney or Dimarco, he has held his own and will only improve as he gains experience.

Bournemouth boss Gary O’Neil dropped the left-back for their 1-0 win over Liverpool last weekend. It appears that his contract situation facilitated the decision. He still has 22 appearances this term.

Zemura was brought to the Vitality Stadium by Howe in the summer of 2019 as a free agent from Charlton. The report suggests that West Ham are the Zimbabwe international’s main suitors. Newcastle’s interest appears to be peripheral at the moment as their top targets remain in play.

My clubs are John Letters, I’ve had them about 40 years and they are still in fairly good condition, you possibly never heard of John Letters as well before your time I would assume big man 🙂 🙂

Magic – nope, never heard of them you are correct! Mine are a mix but irons (inc most wedges), driver, and hybrid are all Yonex. Fairway wood is a Taylor Made Stealth, putter is an adjustable (I need a 36” putter) Ping, and I can’t remember what my lob wedge is.

I recall Sam Torrance using John Letters clubs when he played tournaments here in Australia in the 1980’s. Never seen or heard of them anywhere else.

You have to love Haaland. Just full of boyish enthusiasm. Such a shame he plays for Norway. Mind they do have Odegaard as well. The other 9 must be rubbish!

Knowing we have the early match on Friday night, I almost fell more impatient for it to happen. Maybe because it will be good to get another win under the belt, I can see no reason to change the starting line up and feel confident they will impose themselves. Although I would sub Bruno as soon as possible, as that ankle issue is a concern and there is a risk of making it worse.

Anderson deserves to make it onto the pitch and rip Longstaff back, but Ritchie maybe the safer and more experienced option to replace the Brazilian. Also Target could do with a few more minutes and would perhaps be desperately needed to replace a tiring Burn, marking their inform winger. Getting a good two goal lead and controlling the game would be ideal.

So FIFA have guanteed Real Madrid and Chelsea places in the World Club Cup with £25m payments.

    No qualification.
Some perverted coefficient measure of invitation
FIFA are paying them to take part in a series of exhibition matches

Is the same FIFA who denied any claims if corruption linked to the World Cup ?

Over now to The Guardian and Gary Lineker for a few words of condemnation of this tawdry attempt to circumnavigate a European Super League.

Isak for Sweden surely gets the call, I hope to gawd they go easy on him and don’t throw him in to two lots of 90.

I don’t need a Toney hattrick. I’d settle for a fergusson assisted mitoma goal and a Brentford clean sheet.

Mind you WorB could use a mbeumo hatty. I’m leading and if I secure the win I go above him in the relegation battle. Still got my chips to play too.

What are people’s strategies for the truncated gw this weekend. Lots of big players have no match.
