Newcastle loan duo Lucas De Bolle and Dylan Stephenson have collected silverware with Hamilton. The Accies downed Raith Rovers 1-0 to win the Scottish Challenge Cup. De Bolle played the entire match while Stephenson was an unused substitute.
Regan Tumulty scored the match’s only goal with a strike in the 30th minute. Hamilton had to see out the final 35 minutes after defender Dan O’Reilly picked up a straight red 10 minutes into the second half.
De Bolle recovered from a scary spell early in the campaign where he suffered lingering concussion symptoms. The midfielder has 16 appearances with a goal and an assist during his time at New Douglas Park.
Stephenson joined his Magpies teammate in January. The forward has 8 appearances while also contributing 1 goal and 1 assist. Like De Bolle, he has been utilized in numerous positions by Accies boss John Rankin.
Joe White joined Exeter in January. The midfielder has been a steady presence making 11 appearances for The Grecians. While not an automatic starter, White has featured in every match except one since his arrival.
Goalkeeper Dan Langley swapped Gateshead for Spennymoor Town in January. The local lad had started 12 straight for The Moors before an injury in mid-March has seen him miss the last three matches.
There is also news today that Newcastle will introduce safe standing for 1,800 supporters for the 2023/24 campaign. Further details can be found on the link below.
#NUFC can announce that safe standing will be introduced at St. James' Park as part of an initial trial period at the start of the 2023/24 season.
A designated licensed standing section with space for approximately 1,800 supporters will be installed in the South East corner.

Comment #81Every game is potentially season defining isn’t it? But we won’t know if they are or aren’t until later. We could beat Man Utd and finish 6th or lose to Man Utd and finish 3rd. Certainly a huge match though and would be a major boost if we can win that one.
That’s obviously just a one-off match but I think Man Utd are strong favourites for 3rd. So I really want Liverpool and Spurs to continue their inconsistent seasons and we power our way into the top 4.

I’ve been in some smaller English grounds like that – was even trying to remember if the old Wembley back in 90’s had some lower down ?

I am not sure whether the upcoming home games against Man U and Spurs are ” season defining” or not – but they are 6 pointers 🙂

Comment #85Magscar – the term “6 pointer” always makes me chuckle as it really irritates some people! 🙂 They definitely are though, the difference between a win and a loss is a 6 point swing to our immediate rivals! Not to mention a big morale boost too.

Comment #88Surely if we beat Man U they cease to become favourites for top three.

Comment #90Just preparing to watch the game tonight.
Been doing some singing practice and gargling so as to be in fine voice to accompany Mireille Mathieu singing “La Marseillaise” in order to sing well tonight.

Well, don’t want to spoil the party, but i don’t see France making a great game tonight.
Think they will win, but by a thin margin and without glory.

Comment #92We have exicting young players… but Deschamps is still the coach, so for an away game, i don’t expect high pressure and positive Football.

Comment #93Niafron – I think France will win. If Mbappe starts I hope to doesn’t get a good clogging to stop his game.
I think that the Group B top two will be France and Netherlands.

Comment #96I don’t know about the man Utd game being season defining but, if we win, it would be a great psychological blow in our favour. We would be back up to 3rd and, only a short while after people were saying man Utd were in the title race and odds on for top 4, they’d have been pulled right back into the battle. Plus they’ll be without Casemiro still.

Well, France played the last two finals of the world cup, so with all my respect, Ireland isn’t in the same league.
So yes, they should win. Else, it would be a malpractice.
But, could be really booring… i hope not sure. We will see.

Comment #98By the way, the team should be that one:
Maignan
Pavard – Konaté – Upamecano – Hernandez
Griezmann – Tchouaméni – Rabiot
Kolo Muani – Giroud – Mbappé
So Pavard instead of Koundé ( don’t know why ) and Giroud instead of Coman ( he was disapointing against the dutch ).
Sure, Giroud will not play winger, so Kolo Muani will play on the right this time.
