Burn, Isak, And Wilson Start Against Arsenal

Below is the team Eddie Howe has named for this evening’s pivotal match against Arsenal at St. James’ Park. This lineup features one change from the 3-1 win against Southampton last weekend with Alexander Isak in for Anthony Gordon.

Eddie Howe has started with the dynamic duo of Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak. Presumably, the system won’t change with Isak playing on the left. The bench gets a boost with the return of Allan Saint-Maximin though Sean Longstaff remains unavailable.

Here is who Mikel Arteta has selected for the Gunners.

Newcastle have another chance of enhancing their claim for Champions League football next season. It is shaping up to be a tight race for the final two coveted spots in the top four.

This match also holds implications in the title race. Arsenal may have to take all three points for any lingering hope of their first Premier League title in two decades. This is one massive match in May at St. James’ Park.

Howay The Lads!

Really looking forward to this game. Hopefully we are on it from the first minute . Would have preferred a fit Longstaff in there but we have enough to take the 3 points, especially at home.

Davetoon, agreed on your point. It seems a little like we’ve had to soak up the pressure early in some recent games. I’d love to see us hammer Arsenal from the off.

Great to see Isak and Wilson together
    Longstaff is a miss
We need controlled aggression and not go mad
We must start on front foot and keep it up

First goal is crucial. It can go either way but I fancy us today. After so many years of xxxx it might just be our turn. Win lose or draw we will get cl

    davetoon,
Just a bit gutted I haven’t got the build up, we haven’t got separate SKY boxes in the rooms so the TV is tuned in to Hearts Celtic, it’ll switch to Main Event when that finishes 😕

What is interesting is that the Arsenel midfield (Jorginho, Odegaard & Xhaka) is exactly the midfield that Arsenal fans feared Arteta would play. They thought that they would be too slow against our midfield.

    Hope they are spot on!

Afternoon all. Excited and nervous for the game, it’ll be a real test but glad we’re at home. Funny how there’s been nothing about willock for this game being an old arsenal lad. Think he’ll do well today and might even grab a goal. Wonder if he’ll celebrate? Just hope he doesn’t pass to anyone in red…

    Davas,

They will be two divisons below the WSL next season. They were essentially in the 4th tier of Women’s football this season.

Hopefully in the next 2-4 years they can make it to the WSL.

Never checked my good man. My bookie is ‘blocked’ in this neighbourhood.

I’m really unsure about this one anyway. First five minutes say a lot about a game…
