This is the team Eddie Howe has named for this afternoon’s match at Leeds. It has one change from last weekend’s defeat to Arsenal with Miguel Almiron in for Jacob Murphy.

Joelinton’s knock hasn’t prevented him from starting which is great news with Sean Longstaff ruled out. The bench is strong with wide attackers if a push in needed in the second half.
Here is the starting eleven Sam Allardyce has selected for the hosts.

Newcastle need at least a couple of wins down the stretch to ensure a Champions League place. That endeavor becomes much more promising with a win today against a struggling side.
Former Magpies boss Allardyce has been brought in to solidify a leaking backline. Both sides are desperate for three points so this should be some showdown at Elland Road.

Comment #13EGB, you will find that you use the formula, x/2 *3 then square root it, you end up with 0.5 points.

Comment #26Will be a very tough game. Allardyce like they did with man city, will make it a very scrappy affair. Gnonto on the bench is good as he ran us ragged in the last meeting.
Still see this very tough game, and playing relegation sides towards the end are the absolute worst time.
Our leaky defence will continue to leak.
Leeds 1 Newcastle 1.

Comment #33Leeds is a fine City, and I’ve got a lot of time for Yorkshire folks. However…..
Forget the recent perception of Leeds recent history of wanting to play attractive football.
Elland Road is an ugly ground in an ugly out of the way part of the city, where more often not ugly things have historically happened on the football pitch even when they were a a top top team. Add to that the general hostile atmosphere, Fat Sam Allardyce, and a desperate need for points.
Expect a scrap, metaphorical and i suspect physical too if things don’t go Leeds’ way (and they won’t)
Looking forward to this 🙂

Comment #35He didnt rule out them starting together but I think most people thought they wouldn’t. I said after the game it was seen by some as a failure because we didn’t score, I think that was a lot more to do with an excellent Arsenal display rather than the set up, it paid off massively against Soton. If Isak scores that header from Wilson’s cross, was it then a success? Hopefully it’s a blistering start and we’ll see a lot more of it.
