VIDEO – Full Eddie Howe Press Conference For Crucial Brighton Game At Home Tomorrow Night



Here is Eddie Howe’s press conference for our third last game of the season, at home to high-flying Brighton – a tremendously well run club on the south coast.

New Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi (former manager of Benvento, Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk amongst others) joined the Seasiders in late September replacing Graham Potter, who joined Chelsea.

The 43 year-old has done an outstanding job and has Brighton in 6th place after they demolished Arsenal 3-0 away last weekend, in what was one of the best performances we have seen from Brighton

So we know this is a tough game, but we need 2 wins in our final 3 games to finish in the top four for the first time since Sir Bobby Robson was manager.

Hopefully this can be one of the wins, but our lads need to be near their very best to get all 3 points tomorrow night in front of another sold-out St. James’ Park crowd.

Personal Note:

I started my chemo treatment at the end of March and today is my 3rd chemo infusion as a final treatment for my stage 4 prostate cancer.

The plan is to have 10 treatments, one every 3 weeks through the end of October, and see if some of the prostate cancer cells in the bones can be killed off and the spread of the cancer slowed down.

We will see come October, but so far so good.

And I learned yesterday, via an endoscopy, that my esophagus that was badly damaged by my failed radium 223 treatment is healing nicely.

    I think you’ve either misread the article or misjudged the importance of the players listed out, there’s only Solly March of any insignificance in that list and they trashed Arsenal without him. The article even says “Brighton given injury boost”

    Managed to get a new song finished and put this one to some video I captured a month or so ago coming going into Stockton, California over Mono Lake and just north of Yosimite. Lot of snow out west this winter and obviously always a great vantage point. Enjoy! …to put a little extra bounce in your step for tomorrow!

    Ritchie is injured and out for the rest of the season. He probably won’t kick a ball for the toon again, which is sad as I have always thought he is a top professional and respect the fella. Great servant he has been for us in his time spent at this club, from the dark days to hear and now.

    Is Murphy injured?

    We lose pressing and defensive qualities with Longstaff out. So we should be looking to boost those qualities wherever we can.

    With Isak/ Wilson we lose pressing and defensive qualities too.

    If we bring in Murphy for either striker we will increase pressing and defensive work and lessen the problem.
