VIDEO – Full Eddie Howe Press Conference For Crucial Brighton Game At Home Tomorrow Night

Here is Eddie Howe’s press conference for our third last game of the season, at home to high-flying Brighton – a tremendously well run club on the south coast.

New Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi (former manager of Benvento, Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk amongst others) joined the Seasiders in late September replacing Graham Potter, who joined Chelsea.

The 43 year-old has done an outstanding job and has Brighton in 6th place after they demolished Arsenal 3-0 away last weekend, in what was one of the best performances we have seen from Brighton

So we know this is a tough game, but we need 2 wins in our final 3 games to finish in the top four for the first time since Sir Bobby Robson was manager.

Hopefully this can be one of the wins, but our lads need to be near their very best to get all 3 points tomorrow night in front of another sold-out St. James’ Park crowd.

Here is how the league stands at the moment.

How Will Newcastle Fare Against Brighton At Home?

Personal Note:

I started my chemo treatment at the end of March and today is my 3rd chemo infusion as a final treatment for my stage 4 prostate cancer.

The plan is to have 10 treatments, one every 3 weeks through the end of October, and see if some of the prostate cancer cells in the bones can be killed off and the spread of the cancer slowed down.

We will see come October, but so far so good.

And I learned yesterday, via an endoscopy, that my esophagus that was badly damaged by my failed radium 223 treatment is healing nicely.

Many thanks for all your support on this through the years.

Ed Harrison.

Some names on my summer wishlist.

    CB Guehi, Salisu
LB Tierney (slight concern with injury record)
    DM Rice, Adams, Thuram
CM Merino, Tielemans (not sure on this one but if he buys into the system Howe will get the best out of him)
    AM Maddison, Alcaraz
    LW Gnonto, Thuram
    RW Diaby

A young GK and a young ST too.

    Swanny,
Is that why you’re called Swanny, the Sydney Swans?

It’s amazing how you can get some really good eggs and regular classy intelligent people on here and in the next breath we’re then sadly let down by the visibly single brain cells on the blink who are very cerebrally challenged.

From the socially inadequate, unaware and absolutely charmless nerk that is TOF to the 14 year old spotty twerp who reinvents his name every time he gets banned.

Great news there by the way Ed.

Jail, I always hesitate when it comes to the Chronicle especially when the title is misleading. They subbed Enciso as a precaution but he’s okay. All the other injuries affect Brighton’s ability to make changes so we’d better snuff out their plan A.

    geordie157,
Tielemans would be absolutely perfect for us but I’ve got a bad feeling about his attitude, reminds me of a Jaanmat type figure.

My significance in Sanchez not wanting to play against us tomorrow?

Apparently not playing at his own request.

Hello All – been a long time reader of the blog but haven’t posted in years. For any of you long term bloggers, if you can remember, I was the guy who posted on the blog when I flew from the US to watch the match against Everton back in March 2019 when we trailing 2-0 and massively turned it around in the second half to win 3-2. Quite the game that was, and one of the best days of my life; hard to believe that was over 4 years ago. It’s unreal to see how quickly the club has transformed and professed so quickly under new owners and management of King Eddie – long may his reign continue haha.

Anyways, I’m flying to Newcastle solo tonight to watch the Brighton and Leicester matches and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations of places I should check out prior to the match? On my last trip I went to the Strawberry before and after the match which was an amazing time. Also if anyone wants to grab a pint before the match that would be great, always nice to meet new people with different life experiences. Hopefully we can avoid the drama of the Everton match years ago and just smash Brighton and Leicester and lock a much deserved place in the champions league. Thank you all, love reading the blog!!

Lastly, Ed I wanted to thank you for keeping the blog running all these years. You seem like a great man, and I hope you’re treatment is going well and helping you, and you have all my best wishes. I can’t express enough how much enjoyment I’ve gotten over the years from reading your blog.

Any one else had the survey on ticketing for next season
Interesting: want to know if ou willing to sell on tickets to games you cannot get to
And automatic pre-booking for cup games including Europe instead of going on line before every cup game
