A Relaxed Eddie Howe Interview – Calm And Collected After Brilliant Newcastle 4-1 Win

Here is a cool and collected Eddie Howe after the game when he calmly summed up the game and he now concentrated on the next game at home to Leicester City on Monday night.

Well that’s Eddie Howe for you – as cool as a cucumber, and it also reflects on his players not to get carried away either too down when we lose or too carried away when we win.

Only the fans can do that.

🙂

A great win for the boys tonight.

Pulled rank on my brother and have just booked my train ticket for Monday. Just can’t miss it. Gutted to miss tonight but couldn’t let the missus go to dance classes on her own. Can’t wait but no room for complacency. I will be well oiled and loud!

Tds you’re selfish genuinely expecting me to change my options to what YOUD rather read on a PUBLIC blog.

I swear to you I’ll never change and I could care less if that bothers u or anyone else, I ignore any opinion I don’t agree with and you should do the same.

BTW I genuinely hate your guts lol

TDS; everyone is entitled to their opinion however they shouldn’t be called a c**t for expressing it.
You’re entitled to have disagree but tone it down man.

Listened to the match on Talksport radio ( I know, pathetic) and the crowd noise was phenomenal, even the commentators hadn’t heard nothing like it. I don’t think TV microphones pick up up the true atmosphere during a game.
Great performance and result lads, HWTL.

Novo – I do know what you’re saying about toning it down but I also want to express how frustrating it is that these people literally ruin the blog experience during a match for so many people. There are many of us who would love to enjoy the blog atmosphere during a match when we can’t get to the game or watch it on TV with fellow Toon fans.

I think these people are totally wrong in behaving like a bunch of mackems on this blog during a match and making it a toxic place for 2 hours.

Irish and Novo, totally agree with your posts on TDS. I don’t see where he gets off calling people c-nts for expressing their opinion during the game. I said a few times that I thought Wilson should come off, and even mentioned it about Bruno a few times (worried about the yellow and that period at 2-1 when Brighton were dominating possession). What’s the point of the blog during the game? Does he think Bruno is reading the blog during the game and will be disheartened? I’m thrilled to be wrong about taking Wilson off. I said we were waiting for that one moment of magic and didn’t think it would come. It came.

Not sure why everyone needs to edit their opinions to satisfy TDS.

We’re talking about what we’re seeing. Nothing more. I don’t recall anyone saying anything ridiculous like “Bruno sucks” or “Wilson sucks.” It was simply opinions about what was working or not working.

A magnificent win. Our pressing is something else. Congratulations to the lads and the coaches for their fitness levels.
We didn’t miss Sean tonight and Isak and Wilson can play together.
Like everyone I was counting down the minutes, but the lads defended very well, apart from Schär’s rick.

I guess TDS just wants to see 2 hours of “HWTL” and “yay Newcastle.” That would be quite the experience.

    Tds

You could actually refrain from engagement… sometimes ya just gotta join in with those that you share views with.
Constantly berating others, mackems, buzzkill or whatever will only escalate!
Try not to be so quick to condemn.

    Just got in absolutely bladdered
    Great atmosphere
    Canny game
Nervous twenty minutes after half time but as game went on I calmed down
    Great ending
Man of the match for me big Dan Burn
    Followed by Miggy and Wilson
    Pity about Willock pulling up
    Quick merit marks
Pope 6 – nowt to do picked ball out of back of net – kicking was atrocious
Trippier 8 – excellent game involved in two of the goals
Schar 7 – another who played well but got caught out for their goal
Botman 8 – excellent game great last minute block first half was cool under pressure second half
Burn 9 – scored rampaged u and down the left all night caused them problems with his attacking
Bruno 7 – played well but running on empty excellent finish for goal
Joelinton 7- played well but involved in to many arguments – fought for every ball in central midfield. Looks knackered – needs end of season to come
Willock 6 – didn’t look fit tonight looked slow to most balls. Pity he pulled up looks like out for last two games
Almiron 9 – excellent tonight ran his heart out got fired up – great ball for third goal just a pity he did not score
Wilson 8.5 led the line well got battered off Dunk most of the night got his reward with a goal
Isak 6.5 quite game bu his high standards mind you they had two men on him most of the night

I really want to see Villa get something on Saturday. Murphy, Longstaff, Willock, possibly Joelinton all injured. Nothing is ever easy. Would be lovely to clinch top-4 without playing on Saturday.
