Had to laugh at Bruno he totally milked the crowd after his goal, his da was beaming but we have a real diamond of a player even with fitness problems.

I think other than Willock, most of the limps and stuff to other players was mostly just cramp. Look at how hard they worked, not surprised if their legs were starting to cramp up. Rest and train and go again Monday, hopefully no injury concerns except Willock.

What news of Joe Willock ?
Hope it’s only a pull not a tear to his hamstring.
He’s made huge strides this season and has had some amazing performances for us with a great future ahead.

    Get for soon lad.

Love Eds pic on this post.
Miggys like a human pogo stick.

Crowd was in full throttle tonight but we still have another gear or so to go.

The likes of Tierney will be longing to be part of something no othe club has. Unity.

Just finished rewatching the game. What a thrilling attacking performance, but honestly it wasn’t even close… To think I was really stressed in the second half, in the heat of the moment, but thankfully the team kept their cool and did a fantastic job today

A bunch of articles post match. Ed, you’re da man.

On the game, 20 plus attempts in a high intensity game versus one of the very best in the league. A big congratulations to all.

    MOM?

That’s so hard to do, when all the team was up for it. So, in this order, but you could switch some rankings easily:

Joel, Miggy, Trip, Joe, Wilson, Burn, Bruno, Isak, Schar, Botman, Pope.

Just in case you’re thinking the lower “ranked” performances were not very good, Pope had a very decent game, was the last defender sweeper when needed, just didn’t need to do much.

Almiron will definitely go down as a Newcastle icon.

He put in 1 hell of a shift. He was pressing non stop from the 1st minute till 90. Does he have 2 lungs?

He played with pride and at times it did look like he was 2-3 players rolled into one. He covered every inch of grass on his side.

He embodied every fight and desire to get us the crucial win for 4th spot.

One the greatest individual performance I have witnessed at this ground.

A performance worthy of bow and a salute.

Where do you start with that, we’re just about there,l. Play like that against a team that just demolished Arsenal and Leicester are going to crumble, it could be a cricket score.

Raj – ilovetoon with a reaonable comment. Shud be encouraged.

A truly inspiring performance by the lads.

Joelinton and Miggy were simply relentless.

Folk bashing our players when we were two nil up at half time does frustrate tho, very sad. We absolutely tortured a very good Brighton side. Shud have been 6-0.

Looking forward to Monday. Fancy a pint?

Enormous proud of the performance last night. Totally bossed Brighton for all but 20 minutes of match. Looked like the intensity had dropped and they were going to get something out of the game, but Callum came up trumps, slammed the door in their faces and blew them away.

Not taking it for granted but Champions League is 90 minutes away, or should that be 91.5 hours!?!

Going to be difficult to get a fit and firing squad together, but the motivation of such a good season, the potential reward and home crowd with the taste of spaghetti on their lips, will be potent.

Let’s do it for the Linguine!

ILoveToon is one of two things…. He’s either a Mackem WUM, or he’s an eternal pessimist.

The pessimism I can totally relate to. I genuinely feel like I’m bad luck to the team. So much so, that out of whatever misguided superstition, I’ve stopped watching, listening to, or even looking at updates for the games as they are played. The last time I thought it was safe to engage with a game, we were 5-0 up against Spurs. I thought “surely I can’t jinx this”, then Spurs immediately scored, so I switched it back off XD. Maybe, this is ILoveToons ritual? Just saying. It might be incredibly annoying to some of you guys, but maybe if you view it like that, it might not rile you up as much.

The other option, that he’s a Mackem WUM, is just hilarious to me….cos if he is, then just think…he’s predicted loss after loss this season, only to be proved wrong time after time. For the effort involved, he must have been positively seething nearly every weekend for the past 10 months. If that thought doesn’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what to tell you, lol.

Anderson rarely makes a mark on a game, needs to be sent out on loan in the champo next year. He is a big drop off from our current midfielder’s.

Hands up I thought it would be a tougher match and was definite it would be 2-2. However I did say that Brighton wud struggle to put another arsenal type performance together 4 days later so I was partly correct 🙂

The team still reminds me of a bunch of prairie dogs who just run their opponents into the ground, led by Miggy.

Woke up grinning this morning. What a game. What a season. What a club. Bring on Leicester. Even with potential injuries, I can’t see them being a threat. Their defense has been shocking.

Who knows, Villa may have already done the last bit of heavy lifting for us by then, although I still want us to go all out and finish above that secondary team in Manchester.
