    Half-time challenge…

5 free kicks from increasing distance into the top half of a practice net. (bottom half is boarded up)

Just about all the news sports outlets in the UK are giving it large about Man United are their CL prospects with just about no mention of the Toon.
These folk do not like the Toon.

Mister Tuff – you’re just going to have to deal with the fact that Man Utd have many many more fans than us. So talking about Man Utd rather than the Toon is interesting to many many more people.

We can build our brand and get some more fans in the UK and abroad but it would take decades to even challenge the number of fans those teams have and may be impossible due to their history.

Best way to have them talking about us more is have more success but Man Utd and Liverpool would have loads of articles written about them even if they were mid table.

Could have another schar Gordon moment as we are linked with Caicedo.
Caicedo and Joelinton would need to kiss and make up.
Can’t see it happening though (the transfer)

I remember a game young fella won the half-time challenge quite convincingly several weeks ago.

He put his success down to the 8 pints of Powerfully Hopped IPA he’d just drank. 😆

I’m so proud of everything and everyone associated with my club. Real lump in the throat watching the game, matchcam, hearing the roar of the crowd.. everything man.
Champions League near as dammit. There’s not a sinner who’da predicted that one in the dark days.
    Beautiful.

I was pleasantly shocked, amazed at how the lads recovered in a few short days from the Leeds game to press like their lives depended on it. Joelinton especially. What a beast. They must feed that lad on raw meat, wind him up and let him go! Brighton were on the ropes from the off.
I didn’t think it was humanly possible, but there it is!

TDS – true that Man U have more fans, especially worldwide, but
that does not detract from my point, based on watching football for many years, that there is a bias towards Man U. My ear is attuned to those nuances by news outlets and sports commentators which show either a deliberate bias or otherwise.

Even the missus remarks on it when I’m watching a game.

Indeed the way to rectify this is to be better than them for a good few seasons.

They are shit scared of us, mate.

…add to it that they have no clue how to report us, as they’ve showed little to no interest in us for decades as we’re not fashionable to them.

Bollox on a skateboard to the ‘they have more fans’ shoite!
They are a news outlet and we’re the big news… so, not doing their job, historical, conscious bias… Beware the enemy within!

The problem with appointing yourself blog tutor
Is that there’s always someone who’s that little bit cuter
Some of these lads aren’t so easily fooled
And it’s been amusing to watch old Tuffers get schooled

    Jane,

I remember you enquiring as to whether you had a mention in the D&P poem you missed.

You did, but I thought you warranted one all of your own….

For the purposes of this rhyme, instead of he/she, Jane will be referred to as ‘it’.
    I’m not being disrespectful here
    ‘It’ just works.
    You’ll see what I mean….

“It’s got us bloggers in a whirl
We’re not sure if it’s a boy or a girl
    Hey Jane, it’ll be alright
Hey Jane, will you tell us tonight”

     – Ziggy Bardust
    .

    Throughout it’s blogging history
    Jane’s gender remains a mystery
Some think it’s a lady, some think not
And some even think that Jane’s a bot

    Boring, bland, beige and plain
Are words some use about wor Jane
I say, cutting, sarky, as dry as sticks
And throw sharp and caustic in the mix

Jane may not be everyone’s cup of tea
But I find it amusing, it’ll do for me
My only criticism, why get on the back
    Of our Irish charmer Magicmac?

I’d like to give Jane it’s dues
It doesn’t often pick and choose
Who gets the sharp end of it’s wit
But why does Magic suffer quite a bit?

I bet most don’t care and nor do I
If Jane’s male or female or even AI
It brings something different to the chat
It’s a bit of a rascal, and I’m all for that

Tho’ I admit to dreaming she’s a beautiful lady
Who I’d take for a meal of pie, chips and gravy
I know a lovely little place off Bensham Bank
And if I settle the bill she may give me a ….cuddle

    😀

    Peter

When a H2H league has an odd number of teams, the player without a fixture is matched against the average FPL score for that week.

Our leagues are better than average, so the team known as Average in D3 is below the mid-point as it has lost more games than its name suggests.

Good morning, it`s a lovely day, the sun is shining and the Toon are 2 days away from potentially clinching a CL spot.
Hold on, aren`t Villa in with a shout of European football of some sort?
I fancy Villa for a point today, if that happens the scousers might as well say goodnight Vienna .
As for the Leicester game i won`t tempt fate, i hate being too cocky as it tends to bite you on the ass now and then, but after watching the Foxes against Liverpool in their last game they seemed to have no fight in them whatsoever, i will be gutted if we don`t wrap it all up on Monday.

The real lap of honour will be on Monday night, our last home game of the season.
The whole squad and their families will be on the hallowed turf to give their thanks to the wonderful support they have received this season.
A win would top it all off but whatever happens this year has been exceptional.

I’ve gave up on the main league. I think apart from TDS I was the only one in the race without Wilson and Estupian. More focused on my league with a big cash prize now. I changed my team so I’m virtually the same with 30 pts in my favour. Was tempted to bring in Jesus and second guess his transfer to finish him off, but went with gut instinct on Foden. Think he’ll smash a Hat-trick. Last time I said that he did. It’s a real nightmare competing in several leagues. I need to do something like captain Foden to win this league, but need to take no chances to win the cash in another.
