Nick DeMarco QC, who helped Newcastle owners finally get the deal accepted by the Premier League in October 2021, has admitted he’s an adopted Geordie.
The tweet was presumably sent out at half-time in yesterday’s home game against Brighton, when we were 2-0 up, and his full quote shown below shows the proof that he considers himself an adopted Geordie.
Nick DeMarco is another who has been attracted by the allure, passion and dedication of all those associated with our great club.
Great so far from #NUFC. Two of my best clients & favorite clubs in the PL, who have both played such good football this year.
I tried to be impartial but, as much as I love Brighton & often stay nearby, in the same apartment building as one of their best players, I can’t hide the fact that I’m delighted to see NUFC ahead. I may only be an adopted Geordie, but that’s enough.https://t.co/HWOX50FvrE

Comment #6Predicted finishing 4th this season in the owld blog predictions.
That was due to expecting Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea above us.
Think those three will be our main competition next season. Reckon Arsenal could quickly come apart. Arteta has an awful habit of blaming the players, not going to last i reckon.
Man City with Pep are the best team in the world. We have more chance of winning the champions league than the premier league.
Would accept that tho..

Comment #7Think we have probably given Man City their toughest couple of games this season.
Should have won home game, just lacked belief at the time and gave a good account at the Etihad.

Comment #20I have to agree with DKillers in his post #10 on the last thread, we can’t really have a go at posters who are posting in real-time of our games, as they are posting stuff as it happens, some could be positive and some could be negative depending on how the team and certain players are performing at that moment. Yesterdays game admittedly was a bit nervy after they scored and then had a 20min spell where they looked like they could equalise at any moment…So people will post more nervous for sure. Then as we know football can literally turn on its head and bang we are 4-1 up, nerves removed and posts turn positive.
The only posters that I can’t stand and skip straight on past without reading what BS they are posting is the 2x mackem trolls that unfortunately frequent here (we know who you are you lowlife freaks). Everyone else ate absolutely fine to have an opinion and post them as that’s what this blog is for surely right? We have optimism and pessimism, then some right down the middle on the garden fence types (spelk arse types lol).
I actually find it amusing when reading some of the comments on here during a game when you actually know the score. However I do appreciate that these comments were made in real-time without having a crystal ball etc. Aye we are all allowed our opinions positive or negative, although the way this amazing season has went thus far, we shouldn’t really see many negatives at all as it’s been a dream, magnificent, magical, beautiful, amazing season.

Comment #21DO u know what bugs the sht out of me, and its happening more and more, people like Simon Jordon saying we are only 3rd because Spurs Chelsea and LiVARpool have had bad seasons, He is so wrong, because if that was the case then we would be 3rd with a much lower points, like if we had 50 points and in 3rd, then he would be spot on, but we have 69 points with 2 games to go with the potential to end up on 75 points, which would be the higher than last year when 3rd was 74 points. we have not been lucky, this season we have genuinely joined the top 4 clubs, we have scored the same amount of goals as an average 3rd place and conceded about what a 3rd place team would normally get .
We play good football, and when you can name basically only one game where we didnt turn up, the Villa game, then its been a great season all round.

Always thinking of food and keeping that thing full.
Anyways will Eddie get another contract renewal? Deserves a pay increase. Most of the squad does so the newcomers don’t get paid more and cause disruption

…and ‘they’ are where they are in form…where they deserve to be.
Like all pundits, mrdia gonks…he ‘believes’ that there’s a bunch tgat are entitled to be top 6.
Us, Brighton, Brentford and Fulham have been consistent. Funny how they claim ‘the table doesn’t lie’ when it suits, huh?
Proof positive of their ‘know nowt’ credentials? I think so!

Comment #26All comments during the game are straight from the heart and not the oxford standard thesaurus…hence the black humour! 🙂
Long may that continue and nothing should be held against anyone posting during the game…except those 2 mackem trolls of course who we have to congratulate on their staying power in the face of such embarrassment and having so little to work with whilst their team gives us so much to work with irrespective of the fact we dont even bother commenting.
We got this! 😉

Comment #27FtC, appreciate your opinion there at #20. That’s what I don’t comprehend from some people. These comments during the game are not reflections on the direction of the club, the season, etc. I’m ridiculously positive overall on where we are and where we are headed. I love all of these players, Eddie, his staff, our owners. This season has been massively uplifting.
Yet making an off-the-cuff instant reaction to a passage of play, a free kick, or whatever, during the game causes some people to throw around the c-word and claim people who are concerned about Willock’s injury would be kicked out of a Toon-supporting bar.
It’s so bizarre. I can only see it as narcissism.

Comment #28On the whole is it OK to post negative thoughts during a match. To me that depends.
A bit of concern and constructive criticism is fine but we do have posters who are pure WUMs Who and revel in being negative. Most of these people are also never seen during the rest of the week. They just pop in when a match is on for a good moan. To me they are not supporters, they are arseholes (and several are certainly not NUFC fans)
I know what the word support means. Think of it this way – if you are at home or an away game do you want to be surrounded by people who moan constantly or people who back their team throughout? What is better for the team on the pitch?
I keep hearing this argument about “you get lots of different opinions in a pub” but to me it makes little sense – dissecting a match is something best resevered for after the final whistle has blown not 7 mins after kick-off as some people here do.

I understand what you are saying about keeping your views until the final whistle has gone, as I mentioned in my post #20 a game can change on its head in a split second. I actually don’t normally post during a match as I’m to engrossed in what’s happening and my eyes are peeled on the screen or the pitch if I’m lucky enough to get a ticket.
However, it’s people’s choice to post during the game and bounce of each other who are also posting, it’s probably a way of getting rid of nerves or frustration, or want to put across how well the player/team are doing. Like I said I find it sometimes amusing reading some comments when you know the score, I also like to read them to gather other people’s thoughts and how they gauged certain points of view/interests.
Posting during a game is totally acceptable and should not be frowned upon IMO.
