There have been some doubts recently whether Miggy Almiron is fully 100% fit.
But he showed on Thursday night that he is back to his best form and his assist for Callum Wilson’s third and vital goal on 89 minutes, shows you the skills the 49 times capped Paraguayan International (6 goals) possesses.
And he is our Man of the Match for the Brighton game with just under 50% of the vote.
And after the game, Eddie Howe praised the 29 year-old for his hard work in training to get fit as soon as possible.
We had some good performances from many of our players against Brighton, including from captain Kieran Trippier, whose crosses in the first half led to Newcastle’s 2-0 halftime lead.
But it’s Miggy as our Man of the Match, as we all look forward to Monday night, where we can finally get that top four spot with a win over second bottom Leicester City.
What a way to end this fabulous season at St. James’ Park.
And here is a tweet today from Miggy pledging his loyalty to Newcastle till the very end.
He’s such a good lad!
I will continue playing for this club till the very end and hope we win on MONDAY AND CLAIM THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SPOT, COME ON ???????? pic.twitter.com/K0urPkAUqa

Comment #3I would say this…if Villa does pull it off today, EH doesn’t owe Leeds, Forest or Everton a blanking thing. I’m sure he’ll play whoever suits him.

Comment #5Afternoon all, Munster, I thought it more nonchalant . 🙂
Miggy has taken fitness to a new level, the man’s a machine with a heart the size of a frying pan. A fantastic model for the youngsters. Well on his way to legend status IMO.

Comment #6Miggy is a star and a real character.
HoboT – let’s hope it is a question that needs answering. If all done and dusted, it would be a great opportunity to perhaps wave farewell to a few who saw us through some tough times – Lascelles, etc.

Comment #9I suppose I could probably worry about whether we sign Diaby or not, but it just won’t be the same 🙁

Comment #12Realistically wevonly need a Villa draw because Pool aren’t scoring 7 in their last match and we aren’t concededing 7 and not scoring any in our last 2.
