In Our Predicted Team For The Important Leicester Game – Newcastle’s Top Youngster Gets A Start

We don’t have Joe Willock available for our last two games of the season, at home to Leicester City and away at Chelsea.

We now need just one point to qualify for the Champions League next season, after Liverpool could only draw 1-1 at home to an impressive Aston Villa side yesterday..

Just a minute, let’s just pinch my self to make sure I am still alive and not in heaven.

Ouch, that hurt – well I guess it’s true as utterly remarkable as it is.

🙂

And Newcastle are getting very positive feedback in the press on what could be our second-highest points total ever in the Premier League.

With Sean Longstaff and Jacob Murphy still not available, we will make one change to the team that smashed Brighton 4-1 last Thursday night.

In comes 20-year-old Whitley Bay born Elliot Anderson in place of Joe Willock, and that would be a gutsy call if head coach Eddie Howe makes the call for tomorrow night’s game.

The best point total we have had in the Premier League is 78 under Kevin Keegan in the 1995-1996 season, when we were 2nd with a goal difference +29.

The next best is Sir Bobby Robson’s 71 points in the 2001-2002 season, when we finished 3rd behind Liverpool and the Red Devils with a goal difference of +22.

So in his first full season, Eddie Howe can get the second-best points total ever if we can pick up 3 points in our final two games, which is very possible.

Can you believe that!!

Future of Blog.

I have decided to keep the blog going myself with some help from my son Neil.

Of course, I will need to concentrate on writing the articles and will not have the time or energy to get involved with spats between readers.

The readers will have to self moderate, and I ask our many mature readers for help in doing that.

I just cannot shut the blog down with all the great things happening to our wonderful club.

My pledge to you is I will do my very best for as long as I can.

Thanks – Ed Harrison.

Next season is going to be fantastic with a few new kids on the block knocking a few of the greedy footers off their glorified perches.
Toon, Villa, Brighton, Brentford and even Fulham could be challenging for a top six place which will have the likes of Levy and co shitting themselves.
Football is all about competition and EVERY club having the right to do the best they possibly can without any favours or bias from the powers that be.
Spurs look to be shot if Kane and Son leave, that one upperty club out of the equation, long may it continue.

Just popped in and saw Dr Ed’s message.

Under the circumstances, I think this warrants a repost…

He’s a true inspiration, it has to be said
He’s a man of great courage is wor Dr Ed
A man of fortitude, a man of steel
And it’s great to see him back at the wheel

The Tuffers one probably warrants a repost too, but I’ll spare both you and him!

I did a bit of digging and here is how this season has affected our revenue. All the numbers below are the increase in revenue that we can expect when compared to the 21/22 season:

    Noon Sleeve deal: £7.5M
PL Merit share (league place): £14.5M (assuming we finish 4th)
PL Facilities Fee (extra TV appearances): £10M
Tranfers out (Wood + Shelvey): £20M
    Amazon Documentary: £10M
    Total: £62.0M

So we know that we have at least £62M more revenue than last season. This of course does not count other possible smaller increases that have likely occurred (ticket & concession sales, in-stadium advertising revenue, club shop sales etc etc)

Not bad for the first full season under the new owners. Makes £300M sound like a right bargain now doesn’t it? (hope Mike Ashley is sat in a dark corner with a calculator crying)

    Next season we can expect:
    CL qualification: £13.6M minimum*
*£13.6M is the prize money for just for reaching the group stage so does not count win/draw bonuses (£2.5M per win, 800K per draw), or TV money or UEFA’s weird (and rigged) coefficient based payment which means higher ranked teams earn more than lower ranked ones.
Shirt Sponsor: £25M per season minimum (could be more depending on if training kit is included or not and to what extent our lawyers think they can argue that were are comparable to Spurs for example)

    From the BBC.

” Manchester City: Can anyone stop Pep Guardiola’s Premier League winners?

Newcastle United have made a march towards Champions League football under manager Eddie Howe, fuelled by the mega-riches of their Saudi Arabian ownership and smart work in the markets, which has come at a rate that has probably surprised even them.

It is hard to see their ambition being reeled in now so expect a summer of bold activity on Tyneside.

The title challenge may not come next season but it is undoubtedly the long-term goal.”

As a near 76 year old having watched, supported and followed this club everywhere from the age of 11, I never thought that I’d ever see the wonderful days come back again in my life time after the long dismal years of The One Who Should Never Be Mentioned.
To be part of this renewal of the club with its wonderful owners, manager and coaches and never say die, talented players is just the stuff of dreams.
I’m glad Ed that you are also witnessing and enjoying this and the good news about your blog just puts the icing on the cake. Having contributed for a number of years now to it it has become part of the fans’ fabric of life.
Congratulations and appreciation for all your hard work and everything you’ve achieved on it and may you and it go on for many years to make all our lives better.

Jergen Dr Teeth Klopp has got a footin nerve talking about time wasting after yesterdays game when the ref played 10 extra mins.
He actually said there should of been an extra 5 minutes added onto the ten.
Can`t stand Liverpool or Klipperty, even more so than Man U.

Ronway; it wasn’t lost on me that the BBC couldn’t resist to mention Saudi money.
No credit given to Howe, the coaching staff and the players.
The other potential challengers to Man City were given more column inches, it as though we are an after thought.
Spurs weren’t worthy of a comment.

I’ve read a mountain of scout reports on him seems the real deal, but you never know until he plays in the Premier league that’s the acid test really .

Many many thanks Ed / Neil for deciding to carry on with the blog after the season ends, it really is fantastic news especially as peace and harmony has well and truly descended onto the blog of late (it’s like an NUFC dressing room on here now) and long may it continue…

So, on we all march together as one, towards undoubtedly huge, great achievements which lies in waiting, ahead of us and just enjoying all things NUFC. We are on the cusp of something special, major, huge, exciting. NUFC and this amazing blog/sanctuary are both in very good safe hands so it’s a blessing we are now faced with after all the years of hurt as a fanbase of NUFC. There is no doubt that we are all wanting the same thing, the same end product and that is a very successful here and now and bright future for NUFC. It’s the icing on the cake, with a cherry on top, that we will now have some form of longevity with this great NUFC Football Blog, to enjoy which will undoubtedly be many, many great NUFC successes together, as an extended family as we move forward.

Thanks again The Harrison’s (Legendary Family) x

Howay the Bonny Laddies & Lassies. Now bring on Leicester and watch wor team get us back into the Champions League with aplomb and where we belong!

Onwards and upwards, the futures Bright, the futures Black & White 😎

    Mister Tuff

In light of your post at #39 I feel compelled to point out that you are the main culprit for personal comments and generate a negative environment on the blog. Despite your insistence that you are “decent” person and pride yourself on your education, you non the less are consistently insult others.

In light of Ed’s statement, I would ask that before you press submit on any future posts, you consider if you have made a personal comment about another poster and delete. It is a good exercise and would be much appreciated.

Mund …..aye, that’s what the scout reports say on him .
If he is half the player, that will do me.
He certainly seems to have all the tools to make it the Premier league.
He can play multiple midfield roles like Bruno, so exactly what we need for next season when we are fighting it out in multiple competitions.

I reckon we will be back on for Ekitike .
Our recruitment team is a big admire of him .
He was the number one target ahead of Isak and Pedro.
The lads agent led him down the wrong path into joining that basket case of a club in PSG, and I have a feeling it’s the reason we didn’t go back in for Pedro .
He will move to PSG permanently this summer, but the reports are that he wants out .
One to keep an eye on .
