My point with corners – why does Trippier have to take every one
Especially on the other wing where he has to trot across
    ie – last night

Jim it seems the ploy is to play for OG’s, cram the 6 yd box with bodies, swing the ball into the mix and see where it bounces. Lacks finesse, that’s for sure. If we could score from just 1 corner per game, we’d have been fighting with City for title. A lot of our draws would be wins.
    Needs work.

Charlie, cause he’s too short to be any use in the box! 😆

I’ve got to day I agree. I think Anderson not taking a squad place and having extra games means we should defo keep him at the club and not loan him. Just training around players of that quality will help massively.

Isak’s dribbling is amazing. So many times he’s close to the touchline and I am absolutely convinced he’s ran it out, then his leg just sticks out and pokes the ball away from touch and past a defender….it’s an unusual technique but very effective.

There is just no pleasing some people, so, I was talking to an ex work colleague earlier from working offshore, he is Whitley Bay lad, actually a really nice fella…

Anyway, we got talking about CL football next season and I said how amazing Eddie Howe has done since coming in as Manager. Can’t believe what my mate actually said to that, he basically responded with “Eddie hasn’t done anything for me yet, he didn’t win the cup final ok he got us in the CL, but let’s see what players he can attract next season, let’s see if he can get Kane for example, because if he doesn’t we will get nowhere next season, so I’ll wait before I give him my respect”

I mean what the actual F@ck, I’m amazed we still have fans who are clearly still not 100% happy with how things have gone so far. I said to him “Gary mate, stop getting ahead of yourself too much and enjoy the here and now and what has been achieved, remember where we were pre October 2021”

I also totally disagreed about signing Kane although he is one of the best strikers on the planet, he just doesn’t fit our blueprint or style of play, IMO there are so many better younger options out there for a fraction of the price and wages. We have Isak and Wilson, we will get a very up and coming promising understudy to these 2. To think we should get Kane is very short sighted and Eddie and Dan will not have him anywhere near their wish list.

Just no pleasing some folk, he still a good lad just a different outlook to many, but I’m sure there will be 1 or 2 that think the negative swine is right in his thoughts.

    Player of the season?

Tough to single out one player since all of them have performed so well.

Standouts like Almiron, Burn, Wilson, Bruno, Joe, Isak, Longstaff, Pope, Trip, the whole defence, the list can easily go on till you mention every single one!

Seriously would not challenge anyone picking anyone.

    I’m going with…

    Big Joel.

I actually think Kane would do a very good job for us and is a better player currently in the centre forward role than both Isak and Wilson.

But he is getting older, would cost a fortune and probably wouldn’t deliver that many more goals than Wilson or Isak. Given we are bound by FFP and have two quality centre forwards, one towards the end of his peak and one not yet at it, it would be a waste to go for him when we have other areas to improve more urgently.

Of course if money was no object, I’d have him, but it would be madness now.

Kane is a terrific player but bad business. He is 30 and has two top years left. He would cost 100 million and 20 million a uear in wages. thta 70 million a year. now that is biying success
