Behind The Scenes Match-Cam Video For Newcastle’s 0-0 Draw With Leicester And Qualification For Champions League

Here is the Match-Cam video from last night’s 0-0 home draw with Leicester City, with the point qualifying Newcastle for the Champions League next season, for the first time since the 2003-2004 season under the incomparable Sir Bobby Robson.

In the Match-Cam we see the players arriving, warming up, then different video footage of the game from ground level, and these videos seem to be really popular.

There are clips at half-time with three male owners having a shootout challenge – if you can call it that.

🙂

And at the end there are new shots of the players and their families and Eddie How meeting the Chairman and getting a big hug from ….. Amanda Staveley.

During the game we did everything but score and win, but in the 92nd minute Nick Pope made an absolutely brilliant save, otherwise we could have even lost the game.

But we got the draw, and all of Tyneside is now celebrating an amazing and historic accomplishment for this season.

There` s been a few post about POTY for us, and my choice would be Botman.
His first season in the toughest lge on the planet, at just 22/23 years old he has be immense, he has been mentioned for the YPOTY for the PL, which says something.
It`s a bit unfair to name one single player tbh, the whole squad have been a credit to the the shirt

A favourite moment from the season, when Isak lobbed the GK and stood with his hands on his hips casually watchin it going into the net. 🙂

Miggy scored a few belters during his purple patch. Looking forward to watching a montage of all of this season’s goals once it’s all wrapped up this weekend.

Best of the season has to be that Isak run and Murphy goal.

But, I’d love to see a compilation of all the goals and best of, surely someone is putting it together.

This season has an incredible amount of good moments. Dare I say even more than any entertainers season?

    Sorry for desecrating 😉

All the PSG goals this season were on TV today, man they were like 90% spectacular.

Beats me how they don’t win that CL thing.

We’ll show them how it’s done. Next year.

    WLtoon,

That was my thinking and why I voted for Botman as YPOTS in the PL and why I choose him as YPOTS for NUFC too. I love Isak but to me Botmans contribution outweighs Isaks overall.

As for POTS it has to be Big Joe for me. The transformation began last season but he has been a pure beast for us this season and would get into the starting line up of any of the so called big 6 (Citeh aside perhaps)

    Last one:

    1. In your experience, tap your actual emotions, which has the bigger high? Miraculously escaping relegation or qualifying for CL? Surprisingly, for me, the former!

    2. Which would you have preferred? Finishing like tenth and a cup, or qualifying for the CL? For me, the latter!

Big Joe POTS for me, few different positions asked of him by wor Eddie and delivered by and large.

Plus I like the way he just stands up straight all the time, head held high. Thinking back he was the same when Bruceless was trying to break him, always manned up. He just gets us.

PSG have skillful players but that’ll only get you so far. Teamwork and the right mentality is also needed and I think PSG have lacked that in their team of ‘superstars’. I’ve heard they’re changing their philosophy and looking to recruit younger, hungrier players with raw talent next season. Could work if they have a good scouting system.

Well that 4-4-2 guy gave an excellent explanation as to what Eddie H done to turn our fortunes around. A couple of weeks ago when a jimiley type was whinging that our defence wasn’t as good anymore, it’s bloody obvious, if you score loads more you tend to concede a few more. That guy explains it in layman’s terms better than I ever could.

Anyone else still recovering from your hangover? I sure am, but have zero regrets 😉 What a night, what an atmosphere, can’t wait for next season and the transfer window gossip to ease the waiting.

That said, next season is going to be a huge challenge. This year we had a decent injury record, kept the squad fit for most of the time. With Europe and more stress on our top players’ stamina the squad depth improvement this summer is going to be absolutely vital.

I honestly have no expectations for next season. I think another CL qualification would be no easier than this one. Would be over the moon with getting another european qualification through a domestic cup win regardless of league position and CL results. Thankfully Eddie and Dan are probably far more ambitious than I am at the moment. 😉

Good shout… Isak’s turning inside out of Everton’s defense for a tap in was special…
    Isak v Brentford, Miggy’s, Maxi’s murphy 2nd v spurs…and a few more Miggy goals. Jo v west ham, spurs…the list is growing…

There’s also the fact that other teams watch our previous games and can try and find ways to break through our defence. I think people were surprised at how well we defended for an Eddie Howe team as that wasn’t what his previous teams were known for. He’s worked on that side of things during his time away from the game.

It’s certainly going to be an exciting summer seeing who we can lure to SJP with that delicious Champions League carrot hanging combined with our spending power.

It’s definitely going to be a difficult balancing act for Eddie and his recruitment team making sure that we get that quality and experience along with the right character and mentality so we don’t disrupt the current team with trouble makers!
