Behind The Scenes Match-Cam Video For Newcastle’s 0-0 Draw With Leicester And Qualification For Champions League

Here is the Match-Cam video from last night’s 0-0 home draw with Leicester City, with the point qualifying Newcastle for the Champions League next season, for the first time since the 2003-2004 season under the incomparable Sir Bobby Robson.

In the Match-Cam we see the players arriving, warming up, then different video footage of the game from ground level, and these videos seem to be really popular.

There are clips at half-time with three male owners having a shootout challenge – if you can call it that.

🙂

And at the end there are new shots of the players and their families and Eddie How meeting the Chairman and getting a big hug from ….. Amanda Staveley.

During the game we did everything but score and win, but in the 92nd minute Nick Pope made an absolutely brilliant save, otherwise we could have even lost the game.

But we got the draw, and all of Tyneside is now celebrating an amazing and historic accomplishment for this season.

    AC Milan probably in pot3.

Barcelona probably best trip for fam, Roma would be a nice trip eh. They need to beat Seville in uefa final to get into pot 1.

    Projected Champ League pots
    Pot1
Man City, Barcelona, Dortmund, Napoli, Benfica, PSG, Feyenoord, Roma/Seville.
    Pot2
Munich, Madrid, Man Scum, Inter, Atletico, Leipzig, Porto, Arsenal
    Pot3
Salzburg, Shakhtar, Zagreb, Rangers, AC Milan, Braga, Lazio, Belgrade
    Pot 4
Toon, Copenhagen, Young Boys, Galatasaray, Celtic, Sociedad, Berlin, Lens.

Thats whats being predicted. Didnt know jocks got two teams in it mind so could be a dubious guess by a site..

Only 18 teams qualified so far tho and clearly loads of qualifying rounds but thats a predicted draw based on higher graded teams getting thru.

On the other hand you want to get the 3 worst teams. Either way not realistically expecting to win so let’s just enjoy the ride

    Arsenal thinking about Maddison ?

I wonder if Arsenal might not be where some players will choose knowing that they won’t catch City next season and therefore could be a difficult or even toxic place to be.

    Us , nothing to loose

    Forget going to Italy:

    Feyenoord – Porto – Rangers – Toon

I want us to have a chance of winning this thing 🙂

Levy having difficulty finding a manager isn’t going to help persuade Kane to stay.
No Kane and Son will want away as well. As Spurs were a leading light in the slimey six brigade their fall from grace along with Chelsea is no bad thing.

Tottenham were determined to bring in Feyenoord boss Arne Slot as their head coach; the Dutchman led Feyenoord to just their second Eredivisie title this century; Slot met his club for talks but says they were only to extend his contract

Somewhere in a parallel universe it could be:

Feyenoord Shields, Porto Blyth, Berwick Rangers, Toon.

Brighton are to be congratulated for a great season.
They will be peeved to only get the Europa Conference League while Liverpool take the UEFA cup spot.
Should have been the other way round . No thanks to VAR

I listen to Pod on the Tyne with Caulkin, Waugh, Taylor Payne and some random Everton supporter from down South called Jacob Whitehead, no idea why he is on there other than he’s a reporter for The Athletic, anyway, I’m rambling. Caulkin was saying that in an interview with BDB it was quite sad because this is the end of this team as in the class of 22/23, not that the team is going to be ripped up but the end of this particular team as we know it, the one that fought relegation and qualified for CL, there’s going to be some top quality players come in so the end of something special as something even more special begins.

    CTT,
As you say the problem with your list is they are predicting the result of all the remaining games that count in all the maor leagues in Europe, the CL final and the result of 3 rounds of qualifying for some of the smaller nations teams. Then randomly they don’t predict the result of the Europa League final.

Foe example that is why they have City in pot 1 who we could never draw and that is also why they have Feyenoord in (as they end up in pot 3 unless Citeh win the CL) If Inter win the CL it is them that would be in pot 1 instead of Feyenoord.

That would really put the icing on the cake, getting a player like Szoboszlai (yay Szoboszlai is in my spell checker now 😀 ) and him publicly turning down Lpool and saying in a statement about our going places.

Loving that Slot has been taking the piss with Spurs. All the noises he was making made it sound like he was genuinely interested in going to Spurs and now it turns out he was probably just stringing them along to get a better new deal out of Feyenoord. Brilliant stuff.

    😉

Pretty sure Szoboszlai would only go to a CL club which could rule Lpool out by tonight. Also Szoboszlais comments about Klopp are 2 years old and just being mentioned again because there are reports Lpool are showing an interest in him.

I wouldn’t completely rule out players joining none CL clubs, Chelsea still managed to sign a good few and Lpool, whether we like it or not are one of the worlds few super clubs.

A player like Szoboloski (bad attempt at spelling) is better off coming to a slightly smaller team where he’s given more time and treat as the big fish. At Liverpool a few bad games and he’s behind Diaz etc

“Eight groups of four teams will be drawn. The teams are first split into four seeding pots and each group will have one team from each pot.

No teams from the same country can face one another and clubs from Russia and Ukraine will be kept apart.”

Raj, I see Chelsea as a bit different in that in the Summer they were in the CL and in Jan the only player they actually siging from a CL club was Enzo Fernandez. True both Liverpool and Chelsea are still very attractive but they are not as attractive to players who are guaranteed CL football next season if the dont move. Those players are far more likely to only move clubs who can also offer CL. How many times do we hear players basically saying that themselves?

Earlier this month Szoboszlai himself said
“We still have three games. For those three games I’m definitely still at RB Leipzig (a team who will be in the CL near season). I want to play in the Champions League.”

To me that rules out Liverpool unless they can sneak into 4th place.

PSG, Feyenoord and Roma/Seville from Pot 1

Inter, Atletico and Porto from Pot 2
