Behind The Scenes Match-Cam Video For Newcastle’s 0-0 Draw With Leicester And Qualification For Champions League

Here is the Match-Cam video from last night’s 0-0 home draw with Leicester City, with the point qualifying Newcastle for the Champions League next season, for the first time since the 2003-2004 season under the incomparable Sir Bobby Robson.

In the Match-Cam we see the players arriving, warming up, then different video footage of the game from ground level, and these videos seem to be really popular.

There are clips at half-time with three male owners having a shootout challenge – if you can call it that.

🙂

And at the end there are new shots of the players and their families and Eddie How meeting the Chairman and getting a big hug from ….. Amanda Staveley.

During the game we did everything but score and win, but in the 92nd minute Nick Pope made an absolutely brilliant save, otherwise we could have even lost the game.

But we got the draw, and all of Tyneside is now celebrating an amazing and historic accomplishment for this season.

Raj; There was no way that the Mings challenge was a red card. It was an accidental clash. A foul and a yellow card.
With the offside. It was a strange one but Luiz was offside on the first phase which wasn’t checked for some obscure reason.
Let them whine on, it is was Liverpool fans are good at.

I hope the PGMOL do review those incidents, then also review all the VAR incidents involving Liverpool. Leading them to decide they made a number of wrong decisions and Liverpool should actually have far less points.

They apologise and deduct 15 points from Liverpool and Liverpool get no European football 🙂

Jail, given how up until the last couple of matches, Liverpool were the biggest gainers from VAR decisions 9 x in their favour, the hypocrisy required to complain that these derailed their CL charge is beyond belief.

We should write to the PGMOL and point out that if it hadn’t been for the advantages they gained throughout the season, they’d be nowhere near a CL charge. 😆

With Eddie’s coaching Eze would be world class! Fits the bill for us perfectly. I hope we get linked with him and end up buying him in the summer!

But he’d still have a squad of about 40 players!! Exaggeration is my forte. 😀

Yorkshire, from what I’ve seen of him, he would fit Eddie’s ethos. Looks good, wouldn’t object to signing him (swap with ASM). 🙂

Yes. Some of the stuff he does with that ball reminds me of Ronaldinho (I know it’s a bit of a exaggeration) but he’s young and bags of energy. Would’ve preferred him over Gordon anyday

Why you can trust Sky News
A Saudi events company is in advanced talks to become the new shirt sponsor of Newcastle United FC – a deal that will test new Premier League rules on related party transactions.

Sky News has learnt that Sela, which operates in dozens of countries and has organised sporting events such as the annual Race of Champions, is in detailed negotiations about becoming the Magpies’ biggest commercial partner.

Sources said Sela was now the leading contender to replace the gambling company Fun88 as Newcastle’s sponsor, with Champions’ League football set to return to St James’s Park after a lengthy absence.

If the talks are successfully concluded, a deal could be announced as soon as next month, in time for replica kits to be manufactured ahead of the new season kicking off in August.

One source cautioned that the discussions could still fall apart.

    Raj,

I am guessing new news as I’ve never seen anything about it. Our shirt sponsor was always going to be a company with ties to Saudi Arabia / PIF, but I am not sure it can test the new rules – it will be an arms length transaction at fair value based on evidence of other champions league teams shirt sponsorship. I doubt we’ll try and push it to Man City levels yet, but then again they’ve set a benchmark, and we will also be operating in the same competitions as them so there could be an argument made that we should be able to match their sponsorship values at least.

    EGB,

I don’t disagree with you, but then Mount had a year in the championship with Derby and I think if we’re looking at Anderson as a Mount calibre player of the future then maybe we should think about doing the same next season. Unless of course he’s going to be a main man in the CL squads, and get loads of starts that way.

I think that Livarpools bad decisions against them are fair for them to challenge and that they should get retroactive points but only on the basis that they have the good decisions given in their favour also overturned and they have those points deducted.

The letter from the Scousers is just a continuation of their pitch side antics – berating the ref and officials -jumping around like loonies.
It just continues their intimidation of the officials – they obviously deduce by doing this they will get more favourable on field decisions.

They are serial whiners and whingers.

It’s a wonder they haven’t wheeled out that old crow from the Hillsborough group – to get her nine pennyworth in.

The most in form English keeper misses out for a lad who was in sticks for a team battling relegation for a lot of the season. Makes sense.

Bill there is zero chance of Eddie leaving Newcastle in the near future to manage England simply because managing a top club in the premier league is a much more prestigious job in this day and age mate, perhaps in another 10 years Eddie might get the urge to be England manager after winning a pile of trophies with the Toon 😀 😀

I believe Pope has opted to undergo surgery early so he’s got as much time as possible to be fit for the start of the season. Wouldn’t be too surprised if we rest some players for our last game too. Would be nice to finish above Man Utd but the main goal has been achieved now. Not sure if there’s much point in risking the likes of Bruno and Schar who have been in the wars this season.

I was just discussing the Liverpool stuff with Mrs C.

I remember when Liverpool had pride and passion, their team (managed by Bob Paisley) were barnstorming to watch and they were amongst the Elite of European football.

Then hooliganism, the Heysal disaster, English teams banned from European football then Hillsborough just changed the landscape. They became the perpetual victims of England and it’s never stopped. They are the worst whingers imaginable and it’s infected the entire City, it’s their new Culture – victimhood. Everton have succumbed and their fans are now the Northwest’s Mackems.

I’d like to see Everton relegated for a few years and Liverpool drop into mid table obscurity (like Chelsea and Spurs). That’d give them something to whinge about. 😀
