Here is the Match-Cam video from last night’s 0-0 home draw with Leicester City, with the point qualifying Newcastle for the Champions League next season, for the first time since the 2003-2004 season under the incomparable Sir Bobby Robson.
In the Match-Cam we see the players arriving, warming up, then different video footage of the game from ground level, and these videos seem to be really popular.
There are clips at half-time with three male owners having a shootout challenge – if you can call it that.
🙂
And at the end there are new shots of the players and their families and Eddie How meeting the Chairman and getting a big hug from ….. Amanda Staveley.
During the game we did everything but score and win, but in the 92nd minute Nick Pope made an absolutely brilliant save, otherwise we could have even lost the game.
But we got the draw, and all of Tyneside is now celebrating an amazing and historic accomplishment for this season.

Comment #282The reported figure is £25M Irish not £30M and I have just seen a report that the PL have already approved It:
https://www.sportbusiness.com/news/proposed-newcastle-saudi-shirt-sponsorship-meets-premier-leagues-fair-value-rules/
As I said earlier the interesting bit is does the deal include training kit or not. If not then we can get a few more million quid a year for a separate deal for that.

Comment #286Didn’t mean to start an overachieving debate.
But, remember, a lot of those players were fighting relegation last year, which says a lot about what they have… achieved.
I don’t want an overhaul. These players are heroes.
Just three new super talents, who can run like Almiron, dribble like ASM, defend like Burn and score like Wilson:)

Comment #289And, I know you were on the edge of your seat, Omonoia won the cup.
Nope, won’t be playing us. Conference league.
We’ll be playing Aris Limassol in the group stage of the CL. A minnow turned champion.

No, you want to be playing Aris. Get out of the group stage, then knock out PSG in the semis (they always lose them) and beat Liverpool (actually you’re right, no, Real) in the final.

Comment #298We will bring in quality, because the priority now is staying top 4, for good, like City. We can spend plenty this window, and I’m sure we will, north of 150 mill I’d say for sure, but the key for us is in the continued development of infrastructure, and high grade staff at all levels of the club, following the Man City blueprint, but with the benefit of seeing where they succeeded and failed as they built themselves up into the club they are today. Basically this club has everything it needs to rise to the very top of the tree, and no little in part because our support is peerless. Man City don’t get close to generating the same atmosphere. Wor Flags are just plain astonishing, and full credit to them.

Tina: The older you get, the more you realise it’s not what happened, it’s how you deal with it.
Wise words.

Comment #305Plenty of the younger generation of fans supporting teams who play regular CL football won`t have a clue who Nufc are, well, after they have visited the COTH they will know all about us, just can`t wait.
If i had a choice of which stadium to visit on a CL night it would be Dortmund.

Comment #309Player of the season: Joelinton. Although close contenders were Sean, Trippier, Sven.
Goal of the season for me was Murphy’s tap in away to Everton after that awesome dribbling by Isak.
Game of the season for me was the home win vs either Spurs or Manure.

Comment #312At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
And so you’re back
From outer space
I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made you leave your key
If I’d known for just one second you’d be back to bother me
