Behind The Scenes Match-Cam Video For Newcastle’s 0-0 Draw With Leicester And Qualification For Champions League

Here is the Match-Cam video from last night’s 0-0 home draw with Leicester City, with the point qualifying Newcastle for the Champions League next season, for the first time since the 2003-2004 season under the incomparable Sir Bobby Robson.

In the Match-Cam we see the players arriving, warming up, then different video footage of the game from ground level, and these videos seem to be really popular.

There are clips at half-time with three male owners having a shootout challenge – if you can call it that.

🙂

And at the end there are new shots of the players and their families and Eddie How meeting the Chairman and getting a big hug from ….. Amanda Staveley.

During the game we did everything but score and win, but in the 92nd minute Nick Pope made an absolutely brilliant save, otherwise we could have even lost the game.

But we got the draw, and all of Tyneside is now celebrating an amazing and historic accomplishment for this season.

Tina Turner played for Gateshead in 1996.

    Jimi Hendrix played in Newcastle.

The Beatles wrote ‘,She Loves you’ in The Turks Head Hotel Newcastle.

Charles Aznavour wrote, ‘She’ in Newcastle.

Joseph Swan invented the light bulb here.

    We invented Lucozade.

And Early Grey Tea (well the Chinese blended it for us)

    BDB danced in Newcastle.

    The great gravitate to Newcastle.

    Simply the best.

Nat King Cole was arrested after being found with an under age girl in his bed in the Turks Head Hotel in Newcastle.

The case never got to court and the press never found out due to some very heavy intervention by his “entourage”, the Police and the girls parents. – true story.

Newcastle in pot 3 or 4 at the moment with quite a lot of teams still to qualify but Newcastle’s coefficient is low (lowest of all the teams that have qualified so far) so probably will be pot 4.

Nice to see Kuol get the goal today. Maybe they should have played him just a little more. Ibrox was always a great crowd though as we went to several matches there when we lived in the west end of Glasgow as they had a couple of Americans playing there during that time.

What we can already work out about the CL is that we will be in a group with one of the following teams:

Inter Milan (only possible if they win the CL)
Sevilla or Roma (whichever wins the Europa)
    Barcelona
    Napoli
    PSG
Bayern or Dortmund (whichever wins the Bundesliga)
Benfica or Porto (whichever wins the Primeira Liga)
Feyenoord (only possible if Man City win the CL)

Who do people fancy? I think PSG would be good or Inter if they can win the CL this year.

    Lochinvar, CLINT

Joseph Swan was a Gatesheadived lad who lived on Kells Lane, Low Fell, where he had a workshop. He took another workshop on what became Clarke Chapman’s site.

And yes, the first house to be lit by electricity was Armstrong’s Cragside Hall which was hydro powered.

Steam turbine invented by Charles Parsons (C A Parsons) and…….

    NUFC qualified for the ECL

Ange Postecoglou on the possibility of #Celtic getting #NUFC in the @ChampionsLeague:

“Yeah, that would be nice. Knowing the passions of both sets of supporters, those would be two games nobody would want to miss out on – home and away. There would be an unbelievable atmosphere at both.

The Champions League is where you want to be involved. It’s going to be exciting again and right now, you are ticking off the champions in each league and seeing who else is getting the spots. Once the season is over, we will start looking at potential draws.”

Real would be good. We’ve not played them in a competitive match, but I’m not a fan of Madrid as a city. Not a great place for the family either.
