Here is Eddie Howe’s press conference for our tough game in Philadelphia against Aston Villa on Sunday in the Premier League Summer Series.
In Saturday’s first gaame of the Series – a thriller – Chelsea beat Brighton 4-3.
Club captain Jamaal Lascelles was with his manager at thw press conference, and was questionjed in the second part of the interview.
Jamaal clearky demonstarted that he has loved his time at Newcastle (since he joined in 2014 with goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Nottingham Forest) and he has loved it since Eddie Howe arrived in early November, 2021
Jamaal shows clearly the comaradarie that has been generated between the players and staff since Howe arrived.
And Jamaal certainly doesn’t want to leave Newcastle this summer, and Howe wants to keep him onboad for next season, when we will have many more games to navigate than we had last season.

Comment #4Should be an interesting game later against a tough Villa side, the only team to totally boss us in match last season.
I think the lads will fancy this rematch, and a chance to put a marker down for the new season ahead.

Comment #5Great to hear Jamall speak openly to the reporters and you can see the leadership qualities even in situations like that. Also loved that Eddie can read a room very well and didn’t just let the press conference end without tying things up and lifting the captain up even more.

Comment #6Also looks more and more that I will be going shirtless…sorry WorB. I will try to keep off the cameras. 😉 Second shirt order still unfulfilled with no response to emailsa and from reading many accounts and reviews I should be lucky if I get it by my birthday in December. Hopefully this can all go against our contract with Castore being unfulfilled as well.

Comment #7Oh well, heading down to Manchester for what’s looking like zero chance of cricket. It would be bloody typical though if I swerved it and missed two hours and the winning of the test and lost my ticket money, always a risk on the fifth day 😕

My mate went in to the ticket office the other day to ask about being able to get his lass on his ticket, because she had a season ticket previously she’s got a supporter number, she has to reregister her details, you’re going to be allowed six family and friends to transfer tickets to, not sure how they knew this as there’s still nothing official on it. As for your situation, you can sell your matchday ticket back to the club, it’s normally 72 hours to be able to do that, not sure if that will change.

Comment #13Richard Masters speaking to Sky Sports
Premier League CEO Richard Masters has responded to concerns over the fee Newcastle United will receive for Allan Saint-Maximin from Saudi side Al-Ahli.
The Athletic revealed that a number of Premier League clubs have complained about the price tag agreed between Al-Ahli and Newcastle; two clubs who have the Saudi PIF as majority owners.
Masters insists the whole situation is hypothetical as the deal is yet to go through, but insists that very strict rules are in place to ensure fair market value across inter-company dealings, citing the new sponsorship or player transfer ruling introduced in 2021.
Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, here’s what the Premier League chief has had to say:
“That [Saint-Maximin sale] hasn’t happened yet — so it’s hypothetical. What I can tell you is we have very strong and clear transaction rules, which dictate that anything that is inter-company is expressed at fair market value.
“So very clear rules are in place — whether it be sponsorship or a player transfer. These are new rules that were brought in in 2021 and we believe they are doing their job.”

I’d seen somewhere that it’s 10 family or friends you are meant to be able to transfer tickets to.
All a bit of a mess by the looks of it.
ST family at matches must be a better bet than the club selling on a ticket to some random scouser or manc trying to gate crash a match. How can they regulate that ?

Comment #15aye hibbit ive read what hes said about the transfer, mind i didnt know that this also includes players transfers I thought it was just for advertising, well they best investigate on neves and the rest of the players who have left PL clubs to go to saudi arabia then hadnt they or do they fancy being hammered again in the law courts, you know the one they pulled out of when we had them by the balls via our demarko super fan got involved and others

Comment #17what do these clubs all have in common ??
liVARFOOL
man shite
man city
arsenal
chelsea
I will not add spurs because they havent won the title in decades
what they all have in common is every one of them have bought the titles they won, if thats not sports washing then what is and they are also the dirty back stabbing top 6 who are stopping other clubs from gate crashing there little pack and there the ones who wanted a super league with no relegation nor promotions so tell me again theres no corruption involved yeah right

Comment #28Tying two topics of conversation, Blackburn bought the league and are an example of why FFP exists. However, the fans would probably still take the ensuing chaos for the title win, than not having a chance in the first place.

There was proven to be a concerted effort by certain clubs to prevent our TO, it failed, there is not a world wide conspiracy to see just us in particular to fail.

Comment #35Mctoon we will be doing well to get anything out of both villa games. They have a better squad on paper and a very good manager in charge. To be honest dey have gone and done very good business. They hav 4 center halfs 2 v good left backs 2 right a very good midefield 3 players for right side 3 for left. We have been let down with transfers and are now v short going into a big year.

Comment #39I know ASM was always an exciting player and made it look like something was going to happen but his end result is poor. He’s scored just 12 PL goals in 111 matches. People keep bringing up Neves but he scored 21 PL goals in 177 matches, so scored at a greater ratio than ASM despite being a defensive midfielder!
I (like many fans) have been very hopeful that ASM could just harness his natural talent and be a seriously good player for us but it’s just not gonna happen. Lovely guy too so that makes us root for him. He’s spent 4 seasons at NUFC now and nearly half of them have been under Howe.
Hope he tears it up in KSA though.

Comment #40It’s not a conspiracy for clubs doing normal things running their businesses.
I’m sure there’s some numpty fans on other blogs claiming that there’s a conspiracy going on with our owners and other parties to sign all of these players for PIF owned clubs and then let our club have the best ones on the cheap…
