Hope Barnes starts tonight and gets a really good run out. Going to be interesting to see if any players who played Thursday morning get any minutes at all, like off the bench or something. The more minutes Tonali can get the quicker he’ll be up to speed.

UEFA publish their accounts – most dosh goes on prize money, but surprised to learn that they have 750 staff members.
What the hell do they do.
Article about how some/most of the money is spent.

    Tuff,
Yes, most of the money overall (TV rights, sponsors etc) goes back into prizes but that article does not answer my question at all.

Sure UEFA accounts are published but show me a published part of the accounts that tells us where the money they collect from fines actually goes and how that specific element is distributed and to whom….

    I won’t hold my breath.

Yay! Dummett. He needs minutes under his belt to get back up to speed after a 3 year break. 🙂

Personally I would rather see Dummett than Jamel Lewis on a pitch.

Having said that I hope Lewis does enough while out on loan to convince someone to buy him…..

Dummett is a free hit for us in the CL squad. Hopefully he is not asked to play but the point stands. He can fullfull a place in the CL that no-one else can. I suspect that is the main reason why he is was retained (possibly alongside other reasons)

Dummett was fine in the last game, gave a decent performance. Today will be a big test for everyone though, Brighton have some quick and tricky players.

Do UEFA fine a club or deduct points,if they can’t name a 25 man squad? 😉

I could’ve got it wrong, obviously being a know nowt, but it seems like juventus only have to pay half the fine if they do what other clubs do and stay within the rules. 🙂

    I was watching a couple of vlog’s earlier,from our youtuber’s.

Eddie from Tyneside life pointed something out, which is very interesting.

When he was at the Mercedes Benz Arena for the Chelsea game, there was no Toon stand for official merch but every other club in the tourney was represented.
If you couple this with there’s foot all in the club shop or online, apart from clothing, surely then Castore must be on their way oot..

    Happy days.. 😀

    Has TDS gone?
I can’t be arsed to read 50 posts, on why this is perfectly normal procedure in business.

Davas, that is often the case. See prison sentences in many countries as an example. The question is can they stay in the rules without becoming weaker as a result…

Sad to say, whatever advantage everybody thinks we may be gaining from this rather high-octane pre-season outing, the exact same reasons apply to all the other competitors, all of whom finished below us last season. We haven’t won a match. \We’ve gone behind both times. How is anyone supposed to judge these performances other than pants?
    Just saying.

    Ash,
On that specific point I agree, the sooner Castore are gone the better. Had Ashley signed a reasonable contract with a supplier I think they would already be gone by now.

I think they are gone, why no representation at such a prestigious event?

The foot up with the club badge would have been the last straw for the Saudi’s, (notice I refrained from mentioning back and camel).

Maybe it does but it’s BS to me. Why should they be ‘rewarded’ for doing what they’re supposed to do and what most others are doing. Also, Chelsea don’t seem to have received that option.

    Ash,
They won’t be gone unless there is an easy way out of the contract. If they were gone already someone else would already have replaced Castore a month or so ago.

Team bonding, being much fitter than a lot of the rest of our competitors, for the start of the season.A chance to blood youngings and try out new ideas.

    What’s not to like?

A bummer that Villa are there like, but that’s life..

Nothing to do with the badge btw, just generally speaking. If our owners could work a way out of that specific deal they would have already done so I think.

Quite right. How proud should we be “not to have lost a match” against opposition who, last season, proved to be weaker than us?

    OK Sorry.

As good as gone then, possibly sooner than you think.

Could you come up with any reason, that the Toon doesn’t have any merch stands on the tour when every other club has?

Why isn’t there any merchandise in the shop/online other than clothes?
If it isn’t about Castore then it must mean Darren Eales fcuked up,can’t see that myself like.

You can bet your bottom dollar if we submit incomplete information we’ll get fined a lot me than 8 million.

Its almost worth sticking 2 fingers up at FFP if the fines are that low

Davas, as far as I know Chelsea didn’t have any worthwhile options to negotiate.

It is interesting that people are bothered by teams that are not in the CL and what rules they broke to not be there.
